How many games are out there where the story has received ths much atention? Stories in games - even "story based" games like the Tell Tale series for example, don't receive practically a second look in terms of their story. The only other game I can remember is Mass Effect 3, and how that game ended. On any case it's a testament ot the standard of expectation which Naughty Dog has. I don't think there's another studio that is held to such a high standard.
This list just demonstrates that there really aren'y alot of games like TLOU2. None of those games listed really come close to delivering a similar experience. Maybe RE2, but that's really stretching it.
Yeah, this is the sort of article that doesn't do any favours for the LGBTQ+ community. When ND and especially Neil Druckmann have done so much to be inclusive and representive of the LGBTQ+ community in TLOU2 - to the detriment of their own reputation in the eyes of many. Yet the LGBTQ+ turn round and say - "well you haven't done enough", and you had crunch so F you, and the people who made the game are not LGBTQ+ so it's not "true representartion."

You raise good points.
Although the fact of Ellie's immunity and the breaking of that secret was reinforced at more than a few points in the game. If there was to be a part 3 - considering that part two is a direct continuation showing the consequences of part 1; it would therefore make sense that Part 3 would also be a direct continuation of everything that's happened in part 2.
So Joel's lie at the end of part 1 was the basis for much of Ell...
Where's the final DLC though?
Only time will tell.
I was the same. I stayed away from spoliers as much as I could, and I have to say there is no other game that has taken me on such an emptional journey. From real grief, to hate and anger, to joy, fear, despair. But that last chapter, I was just pleading with Eliie to just turn around and go home, I didn't have the fight in me any more. It was just so brilliant. The fact that ND could take me to a place where at the beginning I hated Abby, and just couldn't beleive they wanted me to p...
Another xbot that hasn't played the game, sure you've seem the leaks - so you must know right? Please do your mental health a favour and just move along. Go play Crackdown 3, that's more your jam.
A 10/10 score does not mean a game is perfect. True.
A 10/10 does not mean a game does not have flaws. True.
When 94% of critics give a game a 10/10. Then you can rest assured that the game is not just "good."
It can rightly and objectively be called a Masterpeice.
Don't forget to give praise where praise is due.
Considering that the first games sold 17 million copies, I think there are still about 13 million sales to go yet. This game will sell bucket loads, and nothing the haters can do to stop that.
Yeah, I don't think the death threats that Laura Bailey and Neil Druckmann are getting right now was "created to bring attention."
They didn't need controversy to sell 17 million copies of the first game.
Just try and avoid spoilers if you can, it's a much better experience that way.
All I had heard over and over again before I played this game was that it was some high level SJW anti-male propaganda game. There are still people on twitter, reddit etc who still believe that Abby is trans.
The whole hate machine was just on another level. More than half the allegations leveled at this game are simply not true. It's one thing to not like a game, it's quite another to pour vitriol all over it.
The game is simply a masterpeice, it...
The probem is that the Youtubers all wanted the subs for the leak hype. So all of them went and watched the leaks. That simply destroys your experience of the game. The game still stands on it's own merits, but your perception and experience has been tarnished to some degree. Because they didn't have any of the context, they all jumped on the hate ND bandwagon. What didn't help was that Sony went on the defensive and started copyright striking channels left and right. The whole in...
Avoid the spoilers if you can. It's a minefield right now.
To be honest, alot of the hate was simply misguided and underserved. When people actually get round to playing the game, they realise that. Especially those who hadn't formed hardline opinions based on the the leaks, and most especially those that are not bigotted and who are not in the anti-gay camp. For example, there are actually people who are still vehemently set in their minds that Abby is trans - even after the game is out and they see clips of her as a young girl. This then is all...
I was the opposite. The sheer range of emotions I went through playing this game. I have never in my life felt genuine grief playing a game before. No game has ever made me go through the cyle of grief before. Most people who play TLOUII don't even recognise that that is what they are going through. Anger, Denial, Depression, Bargaining, Acceptance. That is a testament to the genius of ND being able to harness the medium to such an extent.
That's true. But the level of hate this game is getting is way beyond just about disliking the story.
Your logic fails terribly. Just because some people don't like it doesn't make it a bad game.
By your logic, I don't like Fortnight, therefore Fortnight must be a bad game.
Do you see the stupidity there?
Here's a better perspective, Fortnight is not my type of game, and there are lots of peolpe who like it, and those that don't. Their personal preference does not speak to the game's quality.

You didn't read the article. How convenient.
He didn't mention anything about LGBT.
There is absolutely no justification for senging hate messages and death threats to the voice actors.
If you don't get that, the you are part of the problem.
