I guess you've been asleep for the last 8 years. You missed alot man.
Ouch! That is not a good sign for CDPR. I guess it's not just gamers that feel betrayed, Sony must be in a very unhappy situation with the refund fiasco right now. Pulling the game from PSN is a really tought call, but I guess CDPR backe them into a corner. I hope this will be incentive for CDPR to get thier buts in gear and fix the game.
I'll be interested in how they implement it this time round. I still remember their efforts on a FPS for the PS3. Needles to say it didn't get off the ground.
You should post this on their official forums. I don't know how after 8 yeasr nobody within CDPR notice that things like AI were just not up to par with last games from last gen. Heck even the AI in GTA3 on PS2 is miles better than in Cyberpunk.
Dude I've been gaming for over 3 decades. But sure prove me wrong - which gaming launch was worse than this?
Well, I hope so. I honestly do. I have the game on PS4 but I haven't even taken off the wrapper.
Nope. Not everything can be fixed with a patch. It the base consoles simply don't have enough RAM and Tflops to run the game, no amount of patching can fix that. Even CDPR have already said not to expect base console to perform like the PC version.
I don't think they can regain that trust. No one is going to forget this - the highlight of 2020. It's already gone down in gaming history as the worst launch ever. Instead of winning GOTY awards it has become the most disappointing game ever released.
Reading the article just crystalised my dissapointment in CDPR - because it just didn't have to be this way. This game would have still sold gangbusters whenever it got released - even if it was holiday 2021.
Dead Space. Please don't remind me. One of the best horror game franchise (I even loved Dead Space 3). Complete travesty what EA did to that franchise. I would love for a remaster ala Demon's Souls.
Great artile btw, I missed all those references. I doubt we'd be able to revisit the Ishimura though. :)
Excellent article. Very well thought out and well put.
Power (money and fame) corrupts.
I honestly can't remember the last time a publisher was this underhanded. Basically, the last 8 years of Cyberpunk 2077 was a lie. CDPR knew it, and they deliberately compounded that lie to take avantage of, and make money off the very consumers that they had been courting with glossy promises for all those years. To say it's a betrayal is putting it lightly, i...
Part of the problem is that their game design is what's causing much of the bottlenecking for last gen consoes - in terms of streaming data and memory etc. etc. Those issues are not caused by bugs, but by archaic architechture; and the data just can't be streamed in fast enough on these low end machines. Many other open world games, have already managed to deal with these issues, and have much better game architecture under the hood (data streaming, memory allocation etc). This is not...
As I said in another thread, I just can't understand how they got themselves in this mess in teh first place. And now they are diggging themselves into a hole that they can't get out of.
I feel your pain, at this point it seems that trying to get a 3D Pulse headset is harder that getting a PS5. I've looked everywhere online and stores (apart from ebay - I don't do scalpers), and I can't find one for move nor money.
Irresponsible is right - but is such an understatement. This goes way beyond irresponsibility. I really can't understand how CDPR allowed this to happen and didn't course correct in April when they moved the release date? We would have accepted protracted delays bacause of covid, heck it was the perfect cover to delay your game and make it better. How on earth did they all ride the train straight into a wall?
Nope.
It wasn't even the fact of sky high expectations for fans, or the relentless over-hyping of the game over the last few years. It's not even really the bugs either. A more objective question would be - on a high end PC (where the vision is mostly realised) does Cyberpunk2077 live up to the hype - and I think even there, we still see alot of shortcomings interms of what was promised, and what was delivered.
That made me laugh so hard it brought tears to my eyes 🤣🤣🤣
This is differnt though. This game isn't just "a buggy mess," it's broken on so many levels, it's a complete dumpster fire.
Has nodody told you why you shouldn't assume?
Lets just hope Sony continue to support PSVR.
I'm actually going to go back into GTAV. Awesome game that runs on my PS4 with no problems.
