You can have as much money in the bank as you like, if you can't make a product that sells, your company is in trouble.
How many failed home consoles before they decide to concentrate solely on more profitable ventures?
If the NX fails, the pressure from shareholders would be too great and Nintendo would likely have to stick to handhelds and software (although I think the NX is a handheld/home hybrid anyway).
It's not easy but what job is? I can think of a lot of jobs that are a LOT tougher and for a fraction of the pay.
I'd rather be a CEO of a large multinational company than a cleaner or a labourer (harder work, less incentives, longer hours, no job satisfaction and 1% of the wages).
Flying around the world, going to events, sitting in meetings and making decisions for a huge salery sounds pretty easy in comparison to the drudgery of doing a dead-end job that yo...
It is a positive spin for Xbox, it really isn't positive news at all, just moving the goalposts to suit their figures.
Sony won the monthly sales when E3 was on, MS had to grasp at something remotely comforting and did so.
Next they'll be saying;
"OK, we lost total global sales,
annual global sales,
monthly global sales,
total NA sales,
annual NA sales
and monthly NA sales,
But on June 21st we were the highest selling console in Florida... Whooop let's celebrate being number one"
Skew? Do you mean sku (Stock Keeping Unit)?
@Youngindy
Stupid comment. I have a PS4 and have no interest in Xbox whatsoever.
When Xboners are playing those games it won't bother me in the slightest, if it did I would have bought an Xbox.
The poor decision-making part of Nintendo.
They do a job they enjoy and are well paid for their efforts. They don't deserve any more praise than anybody else working for money.
@ShowanW
PS4's total sales are about the same as WiiU and Xbox One combined. The ratio hasn't changed much since launch.
Wow, do you ever play on anything other than Nintendo consoles? The graphics are 5-10 years outdated in terms of character detail, textures etc.
The game isn't bad looking, but your comments are a bit misguided.
@gameboy1
There is no way the graphics can be legitimately called "top notch", but they look serviceable.
Of course it will be polished before release.
@Toiletsteak
Remaster is a word with a defined meaning, it doesn't change its meaning depending on the person experiencing it. It simply isn't subjective at all.
The colour green is the colour green, your comment is the equivalent of saying;
"To me green is only green when it is right next to something red".
It simply doesn't make sense.
@spacedelete
A remaster is when you take source material (from the MASTER copy) and alter it. It specifically has to edit or adjust the original finished artefact.
In this case the master copy is the PS3 version. If it were released at the same time it wouldn't be called a remaster because it wouldn't be a remaster (the master copy would be on the PS4).
It isn't a marketing trick at all, it is a word for which there is no alterna...
For fun, it comes in many forms. Sports games have huge replay value, way more than most.
Jonah Lomu was good, but apart from that they are generally awful. Rugby has a large fanbase (it stands with American Football as around the 6th most watched sport), so why can't they make a rugby game along the lines of John Madden.
I know the sports are quite different (American Football is 5 seconds of action followed by a couple of minutes of nothing, whereas Rugby is tougher, more fluid and exciting), but they are similar enough to see that Rugby videogames get the s...
That doesn't mean anything. If this was developed for gaming, it just shows how off the mark MS are.
If you design a gaming device that has to be sold for over $1000, you were way off with your calculations when you pitched the idea.
For MS to greenlight a project that when finished won't be usable for its intended purpose for the best part of a decade would show serious mis-management.
Motorcycle racers these days have so much sophisticated protective gear that coming off a bike at 100mph isn't that big a deal nowadays.
It isn't like it was in the 70's, far less "manly" now.
I think it's fine to use drugs whilst gaming. If everyone is allowed to do it, there is no unfair advantage.
Drugs can play an important role in culture, drugs aren't always bad mkay.
Can you imagine how terrible music history would be if no musicians used alcohol or drugs?
"the higher-than-standard price" - It currently costs nothing on PS+.
That's a lot of research you've done there.
