Cloud compute was the biggest selling point of XBoxOne, now you're saying it's "the future", it was supposed to be the bloody present.
They've broken every promise made about the XBOne, and now they're passing those promises onto the NEXTBOX!
Maybe the promises they make for Scorpio will actually come true in the following console.
Scorpio will sell well because everyone wants to bin their box of lies.
So let me get this straight;
PS4 + 2.4 Tflops = PS4Pro
PS4PRO + 1.8 Tflops = Scorpio
But the Pro is weak because it uses inferior Tflops, whereas although the Scorpio's advantage over Pro is only 3/4 of the Pro's advantage over PS4, they are far more powerful Tflops so the difference will be multiplied by 4k?
Is that about the jist of it Xboxers?

I just used a nonsense formul...
@The_Infected
As some of the chips in the Scorpio don't currently exist, I would suggest that the image wasn't of the actual finished circuit board.
It is very hard to take images of something that is non-existant. Ghost hunters try, but I don't think any specialise in the "ghost of future tech".
But Pro is here in a little over a month, there is a year between the two. You'd expect it to be more powerful.
X1 has been struggling for power since launch , now they want you to wait another year+ with 2 more powerful consoles on the market?
Wait for 12 months whilst the masses are enjoying PSVR?
Wait 12 months whilst the masses are enjoying hugely enhanced versions of games on a far more powerful system?
Microsoft are...
Scorpio + Xbox games < PS4 + PS games
What a pity, I know a lot of people here have been listing the game as a reason to own the Xbox 1 for ages.
The 12GB isn't official , it is unlikely that the CPU or memory will differ too much from X1 (obviously much heftier), but too much variation would cause problems with the two versions.
As I say above;
PS1: 2mb RAM,
96/97 PC: 128mb RAM minimum (just to turn it on).
The original PlayStation had 2 Mb RAM.. At that time it would have been impossible to even switch on a PC with anything less than 128 Mb.
You cannot compare the two systems like for like.
Did they optimise the code for those specific components? No !
That will more than make up for any minor disparities in hardware.
A lot of people can only justify/afford one gaming system. They put a lot of time and effort into choosing which system to invest their time and money into, it is only natural to want to reaffirm their decision by whatever means necessary.
Others have issues with one or more of the corporate entities that own the space.
It's perfectly natural, though not always particularly mature.
Most of the people who buy the systems work equally hard...
I can't remember. I stand by it though.
I disagree. Sony have been planning this for a while, they've achieved what they wanted.
I believe the Scorpio was designed to be either a refresh or a new gen depending on what move Sony made. They didn't want to be caught out like last time, so they covered both bases.
It's a pure reactionary move. Last time they were underpowered, this time they throw everything at the power end of things.
It's not a bad guess. The phoenix rising from the ashes of the Xbox One disaster may have negative connotations though.
Crackdown 3 is supposed to demonstrate the "power of the cloud" in Xbox One gaming ( the first demonstration of such since being touted before the console released).
It would totally steal it's thunder if they released together (but I suppose MS have pretty much given up on X1 now).
@Epic
You've been saying over and over again that Scorpio isn't a new generation, but now you want to drop the Xbox one's poor sales figures and start all over again when it launches (just like a new generation machine).
They are both supposed to be "refresh" consoles like the "S" and the slim. The Scorpio will always be chained to Xbox one's relatively poor sales, no matter how much you want to flush that turd away.
If only they had experience of ever being number one, they may have a clue how to do just that.
They've got their 3rd console curse out of the way, so maybe they'll do a half decent job of the next one.
"Will Xbox seize the day and use Project Scorpio to reclaim their spot at the top?"
What spot at the top? Xbox has never won a generation. Their rightful place is second at best.
The author is clueless. When the original PlayStation launched it caused an absolute panic in PC circles (and forced them to adopt seperate 3D graphics cards).
I have articles in magazines from the time calling it the death of PC gaming.
PC wasn't several steps ahead then, it wasn't several steps ahead of the cell processor.
No, this guy will astound you with his potty-mouthed insanity.
He is constantly telling us how the next microsoft trick will turn Xbox into a PlayStation killer (cloud, DX12, Secret GPU, Tiled Resources, Kinect Removal etc). He tends to disappear when proven wrong.
