Lol at your "fact". MS can't even make a 1080p console do 1080p. In fact it uses the same resolutions that you specified for PS3!
Scorpio will not achieve 4k native output for many games at all, it isn't powerful enough (and that IS a fact).
@Jason
That isn't true, the Scorpio will be as successful at 4k as the Xbox one is at 1080p (which was designed to be a 1080p console after all).
Neither console will deliver 4k as standard. They aren't powerful enough (which won't matter because Xbox fans will just forget about what they were promised when they get their shiney new toy).
And that in reality, neither will the Scorpio.
@Sammarshal
Microsoft said that the OG Xbox one could do 4k streaming and gaming (when it launched). They do have a reputation for promising much more than they can deliver.
@Unspoken
How is 1080p last gen when virtually no XB1 games and few PS4 games deliver it?
The current gen isn't 1080p as standard, how was the last gen?
1080p would be better for both Scorpio and Pro at the moment as UHDtv's are few and far between. You will also get more spectacular graphics than 4k (which uses 4x the power to give the same image at a higher pixel count).
I disagree with you Death. All titles should be forced to be at 4k even if they only run at 5fps.
It's what the Xbox fans want "all Scorpio games will be 4k".
Don't improve any graphics or have more stunning effects and higher frame rates at 1080p, have the same graphics but render it at 4k whatever the cost.
The trouble is that Scorpio devs won't always be able to deliver 4k/30fps anyway, even if they wanted to.
You are clueless. If I were to rape, torture and visciously murder everybody you ever cared about, you believe you would sit down and choose whether or not my behaviour was offensive?
If you have a handicapped child and somebody makes a cheap joke about their life-threatening condition, you would naturally take offence ( a reaction not a decision).
Maybe you should buy a dictionary as you clearly don't understand what the word means.
No it isn't a choice at all, it is a reaction.
Bankrupt!
@DarXter
He thinks that if that offends you, you must be an LGBT SJW feminist.
I wouldn't worry though, he seems so offended by LGBT SJW feminists that he must actually be one (by his own logic).
That really isn't relevant to the article. Anyone would be offended by advertising a videogame on real gravestones.
Pharmaceutical ads? Are you American?
We don't really get them here (there's no point).
I know some XBOX1 games that could be improved with modern tech.
Pie in the Sky!
Microsoft said it would make the XB1 4x as powerful and out perform the PS4 (check their claims around launch).
Nobody said it could bench press an extra 50 kg though (if that's what you're getting at).
Several games have used it in an unnecessary way just to say they have the feature.
@Skiurus
Yeah, but Drivatars could be calculated on my ZX81, it is hardly a game changer (and nothing that the PS4 can't do with the extra horsepower in the box).
@Lennox
Actions speak louder than words, I think if you look closely at where their investment into cloud tech was deposited (with regards to the XB1 at least), the vast majority (99%) wen't into advertising it.
@Rashid
They don't have to worry about that. The XBoxOne was heavily marketed on its cloud compute capabilities, three years in and one single game is "coming next year".
This was supposed to be one of the features that made the Xbox unique and able to compete with PS4 in terms of power.
Why would Microsoft worry about actually producing anything with the Scorpio?
They only have to promise the tech to sell unit...
Double post.
