How does a game being F2P reduce the development costs? It still costs the same money upfront to produce the game, it's simply a different way of recouping the money invested.
I agree 100%. I work as an independent filmmaker and the two industries are very closely linked in many aspects.
Most huge-budgeted blockbuster movies could be made for a fraction of the cost if they were properly produced. It wouldn't make them any worse if they used a little creativity to solve problems instead of just throwing more money into the pot.
I've seen films that have cost less than £200,000 to make that but multi-million dollar movie...
@Lior
Trolling just gets you a bubble- from me.
Fox News......(enough said)
Its a prediction made by industry analysts, so your "wait and see" approach is ridiculous in this case. People are being paid to make a prediction, do you think they would still be paid if they said "I don't know, let's just wait until 2018 before we make any judgement"?
There's nothing wrong with what you're saying as such, you just chose to post it in response to an article where your comment makes no sense.
I don't want to get too carried away with buying games next gen, so the more F2P games the better. At present I don't even have a software title to go alongside my PS4 at launch, but for the first time ever that's not going to matter (although I'll probably end up getting a couple of titles anyway).
Agreed, they've done it so often in the past. If a small company comes up with an idea or technology that they see as a threat in some way, they buy them out and bury it. I think this is another case of that strategy.
!!! ITS FAKE !!!
I import things all the time and have only once been asked to pay any tax, it usually just slips through the net (here in England at least).
Is that ArtiFISHal Intelligence?
Two weeks won't kill me...grrrrrrrrrr
But one drinks 'sake' the other drinks 'bud'!
Lol, +bubble for making me laugh.
Yes there's no denying the heritage, and its definitely 'more' Japanese than the XB1.
I'm a Sony fan, but "Sony's Japanese Console" was designed in the US by mostly British, American and Japanese engineers. That's why it's being considered a "Western" console in Japan.
What's wrong with October? Or are you skipping it this year to get your new console faster?
I don't think it's a big mistake not to release ahead of Sony. Both companies will want to get their systems out to the public as soon as is feasible, but they also want a smooth and successful release. There are so many factors involved with contractors, distribution, manufacturing etc that it was never going to be a case of just picking a date that sounds good.
It is obvious that both companies are working as hard as possible to get everything set for release, and ...
I love you mushrooms, I've had some of the best experiences of my life whilst playing with your 'magic' brethren, even though they almost killed me once (naughty little scamps). They've transported me to alternative realities and shown me some of the greatest "visual effects" (un)imaginable.
All hail the mighty power of the mushroom!!!
And the 'corny momentum' comment, because we all know its far more realistic to run around a battlefield at 30mph in all directions whilst wearing full military equipment and having zero momentum ala CoD./s
It is a lot more varied than it was in the "bip bleep bop" days of 8bit and 16bit games. There was very little progress for 10-15 years.
