This article is extremely unfair. I love Skyrim and Witcher 2. I probably have more time in Skyrim. Having said that, Skyrim has its weak points, its by no means perfect.
1. What was labeled "generic" was basically the story and characters. They are, and to a certain extent it harms the immersion. How some guard in Riften knew I attended a wedding in Solitude, which I snuck into, I'll never know. I forgive these things because of Skyrim's sheer size.
...
Explain "total control". Not sure why that, in particular, would matter at all.
100% agree.
That's what I thought.
@zebramocha
Agree, but I feel there is something else missing as well in terms of the physical shape. The "bone structure" seems a bit generic.
This is the internet seeing how fast it kill a trend.
Zero to Beating-dead-horse in .....
Yeah that was just strange.
That assumes most agree that Skyrim is a "cheap piece of garbage", they don't.
That you had to even ask, pretty much answers your question. They were enjoying Skyrim.
It was pretty obvious KZ2 was CGI. The ACM demo made it look as though it was being played real-time.
With ACM, you are led to believe that what you are seeing is what the final version will look like.
I get the sense that very few actually read the article and are just reacting to the headline.
Frankly, I'm glad CDPR is looking at what Skyrim got right and got wrong. If the Witcher 3 is going to be open-world I want the studying Skyrim.
"However, Tomaszkiewicz still has great respect for Skyrim, it was important for him to learn where other open world games went wrong so he could improve on the foundation of open world RPGs with the Witcher 3. “Exploring of the world is cool…and for sure we need to learn from them, how to make an open world – how to make the feeling of open world.”
The article wasn't that long.
Seriously, read the article. He makes a valid point. And I 100% agree with what you say about Skyrim. I love it. Its story and characters are its weak points.
Did you read the article? He criticized the story as being generic, not the entire game. I love Skyrim, but I agree the story and characters were pretty generic.
He praises Skyrim for its open-world and level of freedom, which is rightly deserved. I hope they have Skyrim-level freedom in Witcher 3.
DX 10 "mod".
This has much less to do with how it is and more to do with what was expected.
Question is; Could it have been better? Would you say 6 years of development was put into it?
Why gimp all versions except the WiiU version? That doesn't make sense. (Not hatin on the WiiU, just don't see why that would happen)
For me this all comes down to the demo. Trailer are one thing, but to show something that's playable, that shows real time gameplay, that's another.
I fully expect thing to change from early demos, but to see such a massive downgrade is odd. AVP 2010 at least managed to use dx11.
In this case ...
Sega claims GB did most of the work but some of the single player was outsourced.
It was confirmed but the question is how much.
guess someone missed the sarcasm.
Maybe he isn't lying, after all the version he was playing looked pretty good.
It also holds up patches and updates, so its a double edge sword.
Then there's the problem of a great idea not passing certification.
I gladly accept occasional turds like WarZ in an open platform.
Same was said about A:CM, look how that turned out.
There are plenty of SP games on PC that are locked down. Just because its released on PC doesn't mean it can be modded. It can be severely limited to the point nobody will bother trying. MMO's offer complete control over content in a persistent world.
I doubt having control over content would be a reason not to release a game on PC. They may have other reasons for not wanting to, but I don't think that would be a reason if they are going for an MMO.
