So do you resent every game that does an ad campaign?

This is what you do when you develop a AAA title without a publisher.

Project cars has road tracks as well as race tracks.

As far as the gameplay is concerned, well the community that helped fund it has been pretty integral in its development and I haven't heard many major complaints. From the gameplay videos I've seen the physics look pretty solid. There's no glaring issues I can see. That's just my opinion though.

I personally like the "sandbox" nature of the game. You can do a career mode or just ra...

How did you get 5 disagrees? This being N4G can account for 2 or 3, but 5?

It is said to be coming out this year and its been available to those that funded it.

1. Get a good writing team.

2. If trilogy, write the entire thing before the first game is released.

3. Keep said writing staff until the final game is finished.

4. don't try to be edgy with source material that is anything but. Keep it simple to avoid plot holes.

Everything else is secondary. Story is the most important thing with ME and as long as the gameplay fits, its job will be done.

Except that it isn't "unreleased" or "untested".

Project C.A.R.S (Community Assisted Racing Simulator)

Many gamers have had access to the alpha builds for quite a while now and are largely responsible for the "marketing" by providing screenshots and videos.

Of course it looks better, the same way modded Skyrim looks better than unmodded Skyrim.

Just a comparison of 2 different pieces of software. Not the same software on different hardware.

When Valve started Steam, many also thought they were crazy and would fail. They play the long game.

Valve isn't looking for instant success. They are going to wait as Steam Machines are refined over years until the day they actually are very popular and we all look back at how crazy the idea was in the first place.

Or maybe they aren't and the idea evolves into something else entirely. Point is, looking at what Valve is doing through the "consol...

That's the point, its not a console. They share some similarities but in the end Steam Machines are just PCs in console form factor. This has been said over and over but no one listened.

Steam Machines are NOT consoles, they are purpose build PCs.

Skyrim didn't sell well? That's news to me.

PC is the domain of EVERY niche in gaming. There are plenty of PC gamers that prefer offline experiences, but we've had to adapt to a changing market. Better to say its easier to sell "online" stuff to PC gamers.

To say that its "hard to sell" offline SP games to PC gamers shows you really don't understand the audience at all. Typical MS, not understanding a market it should be ...

Thought SOE had been doing something like that for a while now. In the waning days of SWG I remember my subscription giving me access to a few other MMOs from SOE.

The beard alone is worth GOTY.

That's because the game is that old, probably older. Its been in development for ages.

When Interstellar Marines was first announced it seem pretty cool, but the FPS genre has changed a lot since then.

As for Source being the engine, its not.

That is an old video, few months at least. Not at all representative of what it currently looks like.

That statement didn't hint at anything. And if HL3 was completely abandoned (which it could be) they could have said so a long time ago. Its not like they are dependent on the fanbase that would revolt should that be the case.

Purposefully saying nothing says quite a bit. They know fans want it, they can see that, but there is no reason to string people along. So either:

1. Its in some iteration of development.

2. Its been shelved, but no...

This concept has been deemed "not profitable" by the likes of EA. Hell, if it weren't for kickstarter we wouldn't be getting Star Citizen.

"The people" wanted space sims and the big publishers turned their back on that genre long ago. So the only other way to make these games was kickstarter and the like.

1. Far as I know nobody said the entire game was lost, Just everything they need to actually make it. Also being that it procedural, pretty sure its not that difficult to store. Assets may be lost, but the rest should be fine.

2. Few years back 1 guy programmed a procedural galaxy with trillions of stars with realistic size and distance. So the idea that what they were doing was fluke or was far too much for a couple people to handle isn't the case. (That's not to say...

Thought this was old news. Picked up an i5 years ago for like 150$ and haven't looked back.

krontaar is totally right, this "flood" story was concocted by these developers in order to not make their game. We all know that you can't just stop making a game, you have to have an elaborate cover story to hide the fact that you can't make the game you were making. I mean duh!

Bet their celebrating now that they don't have to make a game people had interest in. Because...you know...that's what you do...right? Its not like they could have complet...
