I think this give and take between those two, they both make mistakes... DF made some adjustments to their methodologies as well, NX does notice a lot of details and he sounds a lot like a regular fan (DF try to sound like some authority, and for the longest time they were the only game in town for serious analysis).
In Canada the PS4 is now around 500$ in some places :-/ because our money is devalued... I got it at 400$ can at launch!
I wonder what this is doing to sales of the system... XB1 is more reasonably priced here for sure...
No, like PS+ xbox live gold is used mostly to boost profit margins... it's the same as the store's extended warranties!
Sure they give you something in exchange, but it cost them next to nothing to get you to depart from your money... I'm not saying that either service is "bad" just stating the facts about the business side of them.
The XB1 was designed to be priced much higher thant its current going price (what is it 300 - 350$? when they sell most of their machines... people wait for black Friday kind of deals to buy this machine, the sales are pretty low for the rest of the year, at regular prices).
The PS4 is still mostly a 399$ in the US.... with bundles... and the hardware was designed to be priced lower at this point (but sales are still on target for this price range...)
I won't either, but this is because I'm in Canada and our money is now worthless... it will be 75$ :-/
So I'll wait for a used copy at a price that won't cause a fight with my GF....
The Vaseline filter is always visible, no matter how good the AA solution is.
it's just blurry, you may not know it's caused by a low resolution, but this is what's going on.
I think the story makes the counter point of what it's trying to make... I mean, compare this to the PS4 where I don't know like 95% of the games are 1080p (with a good chunk at 60fps).
Scratch TR and Halo right away, from what was shown of either of them they're not serious contenders, I doubt they will even make it to xbox one game of the year... they're just list war fodder for the fan boys, at best... not bad games, just not that good.
Rocket league has good chances of being the sleeper hit of the year!
But given that the press chooses, I think that this will be among the big open world games, witcher 3, fallout 4, and MGSV, mayb...

I don't think anyone is angry at MS, a lot of people are quite pleased with many of heir moves, others just don't feel they are that relevant... I mean, they're far away second place competition, they do A LOT of noize to try to keep up woth Sony, if you listened to the press you'd think they have the upper hand for some reason (insert holiday schedule exclusive list)...

MS has mostly good PR, a couple of exclusives in one quarter is not "total domination in therms of exclusives"..
Yes, some people miss the Sony exclusives, (I mean, I can't wait for Horizon, Uncharted 4, Santa Monica's next game... Even Rime and some others I can't think of right now) however, Halo, Gears, even Thomb Raider are not going to replace any of those... Scalebound or Crackdown 3 are not for me either... We may have Quantum Break left, but like...
For the order it was like a hot potatoe game... I got it used for 40$ a few days after release... bought it sold it 35 a few days later... I wonder how low it may be by now?
I find that the environments were too closed, the enemies really uninteresting to fight and there was almost zero interaction with any objects during the quest (you know, like many games, vases, tables, chairs and other objects just bolted really hard on the ground)... and well the story was really really...
on the bright side there are no sales taxes on psn purchases (this means a 15% difference with retail here in Quebec)...
Also titles like God of War remake were 40$ which is the suggested us price, that made it easier to swallow (compared to the current full retail price of 75 +tx).
Otherwise, look for bloodborne on local ads sites like craigslist or kijiji... the prices fall pretty fast there days or weeks after release, relatively new games are usually in g...
Mega Man II is the best one!
After that one it was too late on the NESs life to keep being interested in them (who would play on NES when they have a Genesis or TG-16? I certainly did not look back).
That being said, Mega Man II was a great game, the dificulty was well balanced (yay I was able to finish it!) and it looked as good as a NES game could lood, had interesting new bosses, etc.
Scalebound's character looks like some kind of a douche bag... he is really trying really hard to be cool for some reason... This is not appealing!
The dragon looks nice, too bad he is not alone (or the guy should be more like the character in the Panzer Dragoon series, almost completely silent).
It depends how they use their control of the media to try to control what kind of offer third party devs offer?
Will they try to force companies to buy the parts from them?
Will they insist on taking full control of distribution?
If they insist on controlling manufacturing, will the media be reasonably priced and available (they have been known to "loose" trucks at convenient times, especially when some third party was not doing as they plea...
Of the modern dual stick controllers it's certainly the best one, given that its only failure is the battery life (the 360 pad was great, however it had a really poor D-pad that takes it out of the running as ergonomics should be top notch for all buttons, not just 1 use scenario).
The XB1 controller is just awkward to hold in your hands, I can't quite put my finger on the exact problem (I have not touched one in months to be honest)... if it was my only controller I ...
As long as there is the threat of a new generation of gaming console (more powerful, better features, etc.) on the horizon there is no real monopoly...
and we have the 4K gaming, or true 60fps 1080p gaming (with some improved IQ, etc.) that are going to be the next step... Nintendo releases their NX console around next year, they could decide to be competitive hardware wise again.
MS is not the only option there is.
