Yes, but this is not "coming to xbox one" as a proper xbox one title... I mean, it will run much like on an old xbox 360, is this why you got this shiny new machine?
They can say, hey you have this option to play the old version of the game, but don't act like this is what people want, I certainly would not bother... especially not the PS3 version, sub 720p, sub 30fps and buggy as hell! no thanks (the 360 version is better, but still no cigar).
I find the naming a bit sad, what about the upcoming 2tb model? They'll call it the godly xbox one?
Marketing people have no shame!
It would still be better if they were to let people swap the internal hdd for whatever they wanted instead of forcing them to buy a new machine to get more space (and a bit more speed).
I know about the external hdd option, however, the last thing I want in my livingroom is more wires, flashing lights and noise sources!
This site is pure garbage, I refuse to watch anymore content submitted by them.
Thanks!
Square Enix made it clear why FF XIV was not on the XB1, Sony made it clear they did not have any exclusivity deal with SE on it... (Sony has no policy preventing cross play).
I think Phil lied... mind you, they never admitted their policies around the original XB1 launch were misguided, the furthest Phil ever went was to say they were ahead of their time...
All in all, the xbox ecosystem is still the most restrictive gaming platform out there, but Phil is ve...
The problem is that with fewer acesand processingcores than the ps4 there is both less possibilities of having free compute processors and available queues to put tasks in them.
We will miss the old Konami :-( Castlevania SOTN. the great Metal Gears games, the older Gradius and Parodius games... Even Track and Field and other less known games, such a sad day in gaming.
They don't make that much money... Not that they're brilliant on average...
This is how the menus look in uncharted 2&3 at least!
@dan_scruggs I would not know, never used multi-multiplayer in any of them, how is it?
I though it used to be that the PC version of game got all those graphics and sound cinfguration options by default, this idea of locked frame rates, missing graphics config, etc. or other basic screw ups are almost a new thing (I showed up during the ps360 area, when many though PC gaming was about to become irrelevant).
Mind you, in the times of 2D games there was little need for extensive options...
The most important factor is that these hyper hyped games are not released yet, none have been delayed, etc. Chances are one or more titles were rushed to meet their deadlines... or one or more may disapoint (again, they may be the best games of the year and could make 2015 a year to remember)...
Anyway, if you listened the hype machine of MS their launch lineup was the best ever, and Ryse was a great hack n slash, better than any God of War title ever released ;-)
I am not sure when your console hsitory started, hell... I could even argue it's not even the best lineup of the current generation of consoles (it's hard to truly honestly say one "lineup" is objectively superior because you know even series like Halo/Gears/etc. on xbox and GT, God of War, Uncharted, Wipeout, etc. on the PS side... nor the big Nintendo franchises are for everybody).
But all in all, I think the PS4 cathers to the most players with a diverse ...
"on par" with one version having 40% less pixels to render and one less effect to process..
I am not saying it's disapointing for the xb1 to do this, but this is in line with the expected performance f each machines... they're not equal.
YOU HAVE THE RIGHT ANSWER MY FRIEND.
They work together, devs should not try to do something stupid with the hardware they have, but they should also have enough vision to think what they would do if they had more power or memory (if they needed it).
That is a strange discussion to have because we first need to establish what it means to run out of either memory or processing power (be it CPU or GPU bound)... I have a PS4 and I'm satisfied with it, but from my point of view any game that does not run at 1080...
Well, it is VERY scary!
oh whait, all consoles run out of both at some point (however I think 8GB is pretty big for the kind of computing ressources we have in these machiens... especially given the unified memory structure the PS4 has).
Eitherway, a game that would require "more" processing would means improved physics and other simulated aspects being done locally WHILE keeping very good graphical details, image quality, etc. or just running every...
@HaveSumNuts
Well this time she has movie based water going out of some doors and deformable snow!
Obviously the game does not look really "bad" but it does not seems to be ground breaking in any way shape or form, the story will be almost embarrassingly cheesy again...
I mean, yes, some people can love these games, they're good in many ways, but comparing it to Uncharted is strange, TR feels like a cheapened version of the Unc...
What happened to Rime :-(
At least the article acknoledge that there are games on the PS4! this is a victory! because I'm tired of watching netflix on it since launch /s
That's the thing, this is a "nice to have" kind of thing... people acting as if this was more than a convenience feature are just out of their mind (I had a phat PS3, played like 3 PS2 games on it over the generation, and I NEVER had a PS2 before... because I was just not that interested).
Anyway, given the choice I'd rather take ports of these good old games so they can run properly on the new hardware as opposed to playing them in the broken state they shi...
