They're part of the Kronos Group, who is developping OpenGL NG... that should ship at around the same time as DX12 and offer a similar set of benefits (some games could be enhanced by it, others not so much).

@Aloren I can assure you very few of those active players are on the PS3 version of the game.
Mind you, I was never a fan of this game, reviewers should at least have warned the PS3 owners that they would get a broken game.
Jaffe is not always nice, he has been explosive a couple of times.
That being said, he's one of those people I like to hear about because I know he tells what's on his mind, not some PR non sense, he doesn't care for possible repercussions.
That robs some people the wrong way, for some people being "nice" is more important than being true... which is bogus.
I think these sales numbers indicate that some reviewers are too full of themselves? is that possible too?
Have a bit of introspection, giving this game scores worthy of Superman 64 (or other broken games) is not professional review worthy.
Go read the article, this is pretty clear the interviewer said I reviewed the game and gave it an 8 try to convince me to give it a 9....
He then explained that they could not put everything they wanted in, and that 8 sounded about right (also he said everything they did put in was really well crafted).
That seems like an answer as honest as one could give, given how the question was framed.
They should have put the number in the reviewer's guide!
I think this is kind of weird, but fully warranted given what happened before the game was released.
I think him saying the game deserves an 8 is an admission that they know there are significant areas where their game could be improved, without saying it's negative (6 or 7s are seen as negative by many, too close to failure to warrant respect).

I would not trust these sites to dictate my gaming time, sorry, but after the stupidities they spouted about DriveClub this is not possible, their reviews are often factually wrong (raising complaints about "A.I." without any substance, requiring all games to be open world, multi-player etc.) their opinio...
You would ahve to look at all reviewers, there are a lot of positive reviews as well, I have not yet seen one say it's game of the year material, but many liked it enough to score it around 8 and if you read the specific comments on gameplay... you'll find that many liked this.
Honestly the tone in some of the more negative reviews sounded childish and borderline stupid.
I think people are putting it all together in the average number of the metacriti...
yEs I do the same for books, movies and music, if a song is less than 2 minutes... it sucks, if a movie lasts less than 2 hours it sucks, a book less than 500 pages or so, it sucks... a game less than 15 hours for the main story, well it sucks! it's a no brainer, I just measure stuff and decide that if it's too low, not wide enough or does not last long enough it should be dismissed!

Only once a generation is over will some people be willing to cross the lines and experiment the good titles found on the other side...
I think this one is particular mainly because most big titles are available on both the PS4 and XB1, they're the titles that got the best reception on either of them so far (how many excluaives were even seriously considered for game of the year in 2014?) Now most of the time the PS4 version was and still is the better choice, the console...
I agree with your point, actually I want 4K gaming...
But I think that you could not have had consoles released with 60hz 4K output last year, so both support whatever version of HDMI enabled back then (4k at 30hz) however, the software does not enable it yet.
Now, I am not sure I want man 4K games on the PS4 (the idea of 1080p games on the XB1 is still hardly attainable, so let's not include this one in the conversation at all)...

Honestly, much of that criticism is generic banter in nature, it could be thrown at almost any third person game released or to be released... yes there are some QTEs, but at the same time, it really depends what and when they happen (I.E. many great games have some level of them)... previewers got frustrated because they died in the preview sometimes... so let them have their baby diffi...
For those who did not listen/watch to the video and make fun of the people complaining, basically you are taking EA's bait and paying 5$ a month for a preview access to some games? (and obviously some complete games a bit like PS+/Live Gold).
As if they could not do the early demo type access without the EA access service? it's like a "beta" for them, that's publicity if the game is any good people will play it and word to mouth will spread, the game wil...
