WE always get some lame variety of those articles (I refuse to click them) ... at first it was early sales don't mean a thing, XB1 is actually on top (WTF) now well PS4 may sell more but "our guy" or whatever they consider the xbox machine to be is not out of the ring yet, + some damage control...
It's kind of freaky how strong these outlets seems to push for MS (they were before, but I guess you could make the argument if you were in the US or the UK in the...
That (the rop count) makes sense for titles who have special renderers like dreams (confirmed not to use polygons) and likely tomorrow children.
It does not negate the 40% gpu cores count or the much faster memory structure...
I think it's a bit late, but the main reason for the Vita's early demise was the price of those damn memory cards! it turned me off back then and I am sure it did the same for many, also, having less memory means people eventually forego buying a game because their card is full and they don't want to buy another one... as simple as that!
@holysmokesbatman
I would say that the XB1 controller feels awkward to hold in my hands... saying either controller is "cheap crap" is overblown, maybe you have a preference for one, but none is crap... maybe the thumbstick materials and battery life is a real problem for many... this is all I can see as real problems with the PS4 (even then, they're hardly deal breakers as the DS4 has been one of my top controllers of all time, along the NES Max, the Saturn controller.....
@s45gr32 it really depends on what you play, but games like dust an elisian tale are definitely not 60$ on consoles (I got it for zero as part of ps+) plus cheap games are now available on most platforms, the pan store has great deals on a weekly basis, just like the Steam store... which is not as crazy cheap as it used to be for sure!
Anyway, since I got my PS4 I have not done much playing on pc, a first since the dreamcast days... it's not about the technical problems, ...
@LordSane when you add ram, hdd, casing, keyboard/MOUSE, windows a decent cpu along your cheapo video card you end up paying more than for either consoles... obviously if your target performance level is the xb1, you are guaranteed to surpass it every single time with the 750i setup!
The main problem is all those add/in game transaction supported games... A lot of people lost the habit of paying any money for their games!
It's like some baseball team (well its fans anyway) being extremely happy because they made a point at some point in the game where their team was behind all the time, and lost by a wide margin... Yet they keep saying, well, while that ball was in the air we were winning for sure, because it was our guy going from bases to bases! And this is all that counts! Oh and I really like the colors of our team too, so who cares if they loose, they win anyway...
Now, I can't ar...
Or even the other 10 months of the year in the us...
They are just looking for something they can spin...
It's kind of tiring to ear halo, halo, halo, gears, gears, gears... Forza forza forza all the time! ( there are some other games, but they're so close, they may as well just strap the name of one of their existing ips on them!)
So if they made an open world Halo with a 60 hours of campaign it would get a metacritics score of 500%?
AMAZING! /s
I'd say that the Halo series had better years for sure, but the length of the campaign is not the problem, now it's just a very good shooter, but it has no claim to "top dog" shooter ever, at least not the last two entries...
All these words to say nothing... such a waste of bytes :-/
The truly interesting way to process physics would be locally on beefier GPUs and with more RAM... the way crackdown 3 does it would be only good for MP games, IF they desire to have that level of destructibility (maybe they want to do other things with it?)
Doing it on the cloud also pretty much limit them to 30fps, doing physics on a beefy GPU let them taylor the thing without worrying about syncing with the online infrastructure... and possibly run at 60fps.
The race only starts in November this year!!! it doesn't count yet!
On a sad note, it seems both consoles sold less than in the same period last year :-(
I wonder how people will interpret it, are some of you thinking that games using the cloudgine technology are about to bypass the XB1's esram? (it would be slower to do this on the XB1, this is literally the only fast memory pool on the machine).
But, my guess is that they mean that cloudgine would work on platforms that offer a different memory structure (which would make sense, if they build for the future they have to be as agnostic as possible).
The low wall is too big to carry!
What is the benefit of this over a VR game? or even just a regular motion controlled game (9t looks like a Wii game) ... I don't think being limited to playing in an environment that is my home (or some other room) is a benefit... neither is motion controls for most situations, that goes for most professional software as well, I don't see myself working in photoshop or editing code, nor making any other precise adjustments with this kind of screen and input.
at least ...
I cannot say I disagree with their conclusion, however, I would give a bigger edge than they did for the story bit... You have to be drunk AND high to say that Thomb Raider 2013's story provides a good foundation for anything, it is horrendous and cringe inducing at every occasion, thankfully the rest of the game make up for it.
Uncharted 3 (or 2) it just held up together so well, it has no real down side to it... unless you prefer a really complex game with a million opt...
just like day 1, I even started a new playthough of Killzone:SF today to see how it was now with all the patches, etc.
It's still a very good looking game, and much better than many give it credit for.
That feature sucks, it's the first thing I disabled when I got my ps4!
Well we know for sure that vgchartz is under-tracking the PS4 by at least 3 millions (it could be 4 millions by now) because sony said that by September 31st they had sold over 30 million PS4 consoles... it's fait to say they should have moved 1 million units in October (WW) so their chart should be around 31 million units for the PS4... they're at 27.7 as of October 31st!
the XB1 is a wild guess, MS does not share numbers now that they get their collective asses hand...
