Ya, that is odd to bundle an extra controller with a single player game. Never-the-less, it's still a great deal: It's like getting the game for free.

You are right on! I have a PC and PS3 hooked to the same HDTV in my room. It is an awesome combo because I like my shooters and RTS games on my PC while the PS3 provides me with some awesome exclusives and games not available on my PC. It truly is the best of both worlds. Bubbles for you!

Isn't that basically the problem: The promises of Natal versus the reality that has become Kinect. To make the technology cheaper, MS took out its processing chip which meant relying on a software solution that increased the lag. To further cut the cost, they also reduced the resolution of the main camera, so it became impossible to track fine wrist or finger movements. As a result, you have a device that is probably destined to be for casual gamers only and unfulfilled promises for the c...

1. Excellent support isn't fitness, dance, and Wii-party games. Where are the core games? Why does everything look like the same thing the Wii has already done.
2. "Too early to tell". Like everyone who has had hands on experience (or hands off in Kinect's case) can't see the difference. And, what's your point about Move support being added to games. Isn't that a big plus that existing games are being made to support it? Kinect, not having that ability, i...

"1.Excellent support both at launch and in the future." That's a joke right? 15 lame launch games: nothing but fitness, dance, and Wii-party games. Even when or if its eventually incorporated into a core game, it'll be on-rails experience....Oh joy!
"2.The Kinect and 360 make the Best Console/Controller Combination." E3, Gamescom, the gaming press, and core gamers seem to differ with you and praise the Move as the best motion controller.
"3.The...

OK, I didn't mean to imply that Metroid didn't influence other games. I just meant that it doesn't match the title as "the most influential shooter EVER". Please notice that word EVER, like no other shooter comes close. That is a completely over exaggerated statement, but I guess that's what get hits at N4G: overly provocative titles. Sorry Metroid fans, let me restate. Metroid was an influential game, but its not the most influential shooter ever. Is that better?

Despite the problems N4G had with importing the correct title of the article, the author does make some good points. Sony did have a very good Gamescom and is on a roll. Obviously, to the core gamer and gaming press, Sony Move is the best choice of motion controllers. We'll have to see how the Kinect does with casual audience after the Wii cuts its price to $150. Kinect could be in real trouble, if it fails to connect with the casual gamers, since it really has no appeal to core gamers. A...

Actually, the title is correct in the article: "Move is Good, Gran Turismo 5 is Very Good. Sony is Having a Great Time at GamesCom". Somehow, the title got corrupted in the translation over to N4G.

Edit: Looks like the title has been somewhat corrected, but now the "a" and "at" are reversed: "Sony is Having at Great Time a GamesCom".

The Metroid series may well be a great series of games, maybe even excellent. However, it is an overly exaggerated statement to say its the "most influential shooter ever". To be influential, that means it has to influence other developers to adopt/copy designs into their own games. Name a game that was influenced by Metroid? How did it change shooters so much that everyone copied them? Want an example of a shooter that influenced others: Battlefield 2. See, BF2 started the trend of...

A Wii that cheap would be very bad news for MS and Kinect since they are going for the same casual market. Wii would be half the price of the $300 Kinect Arcade Bundle (a casual gamer's cheapest alternative w/o currently owning a 360). Sony, with the Move, seems to be going for core gamers first and trying to get casuals to go along for the ride later (after the core gamers adopt it and develop a following for it). Their $400 Move Bundle has a huge 320gb HDD, so its being marketed/priced ...

@Zombie Autopsy, no prob. It was at the end of my post and easy to miss. Probably could use repeating, though, since the author and his title somehow completely forgot the innovations that PC gaming has brought us.

Here's another question about the Kinect. Can you play any of the games online? From what I've seen, they're all just localized party, fitness, or dance games and none seem to be playable online. Has anyone seen a single demonstration of any Kincect game being played online? Is it because of its lag added with online lag equals unplayable? Since the Move works with games like KZ3 and Socom4, we know that it will be capable of online gaming. Is this just another flaw with the Kinec...

Lol. I like how you slipped the Power Glove in there before the Kinect....Ouch! One of the worst gaming failures next to Virtual Boy. Trying to say something? Like Kinect = fail.

5. Competitive Gaming: Done first, ages ago, on the PC. Ladders and tournaments galore.
4. Achievements: OK, I'll give you that one, but doesn't concern me much since I play games to have fun and not "whore" achievements.
3. Friends List: Guess, he hasn't heard of X-fire or other similar PC apps.
2. Matchmaking: I'll take dedicated servers over laggy matchmaking any day.
1. Downloadable Content: Again, done first on the PC. Mods and ma...

Sony would really sell a bunch of PS3's, if they could get a Move bundle down to $299. Offer a new "budget" SKU with a 40-80gb HDD, along with the two new 160/320gb models. Then, package it with a Move, PS Eye, and demo disc for $299 (drop the Sports Champions to save on costs). A Move bundle at that price would be very competitive with the Kinect Arcade Bundle (with a measly 4gb memory and no HDD) or the Wii (non-HD graphics, not as precise) and would sell like "hotcakes&q...

This article sums it up well and pretty much stating the obvious. Kinect is very limited in what it can do and add to the gaming experience. Casual gamers are the only ones who can save it and they are a fickle bunch who could balk at the price and limited amount of games (compared to the Wii). The Move looks like it will have a better chance of succeeding since it can be adapted to just about any game type. I'm mostly a PC gamer who will be skipping the motion control battle, but I see t...

Maybe the Move can change that. I still do my RTS's on the PC, but the Move shows some promise for the genre. Ruse is the first one to give it a shot, so we'll have to see how it works out.

I believe this Droid has a screw loose. On topic, though, I liked the news that MS is bringing back the classic AOE series. Loved AOE 3 back in its day.

In Japan, I thought the 120/250gb models have already been replaced with 160/320gb versions (including a white model). So, maybe, Japan is first and now the rest of the world will be getting the 160/320gb models. I've also noticed that the Sony website has the 120gb slim with a game for $299. So I wouldn't be surprised to see the 120/250gb models to get discounted soon to make way for the new SKU's. I could see the 120gb selling for $275 and the 250gb at $325. Then, they'll be...

Better watch out N4OGs. Saying anything bad about Halo is tantamount to heresy around here. I got crucified for saying that it didn't appeal to me and looked/played like older games on the PC. I just looked at some old videos of Quake 3 and others on YouTube. Its just about the same generic formula with some upgraded graphics (and the same annoying disembodied voice calling everything out: "You Have Lost The Lead", "Impressive").
