What are you talking about? The shovelware is already here....just look at the launch line-up: all fitness, dance and Wii-party games.
I lol when the avatar on the right had its head flopping around like its neck was broken.
Hey, don't forget us PC gamers. We're not too keen on this Kinect crap ourselves.
Well, its actually kind of a big loss if Kinect fails because MS would have done better putting that money into some more first party studios and had some new IP/exclusives.
Probably because he got involved in politics and alienated some of his fans.
Nope, could never get over paying for online play. I have a gaming PC and a PS3 as a "sidekick". I think its an excellent combo because I like my FPS and RTS games on the PC because I believe that it has better controls and graphics. However, I do enjoy my PS3 for the games that are unavailable on the PC (like Red Dead Redemption) and games that I think play better on a console (like FIFA 10). The exclusives are a really nice plus, too. I believe its the best of both worlds.
*Deleted Double Post* N4G had a "hiccup" and entered my comment twice.
MS made about $1.6 billion off of Xbox Live in the last twelve months with a profit margin estimated to be 65%....65 f'ng percent! Now tell me, why do they need a cost increase, if they're making those kind of margins? Because they know they have a "captive audience" and their customers will most likely not be switching to another console or PC because they're already too invested in the 360. Welcome to the Microsoft Milking Machine.
And then, to take al...
Ya, messed up on Left 4 Dead 2 and Borderlands, but still think Fallout 3 is primarily a RPG. Not primarily because of the leveling, but because of all the dialogue and game choices you need to make. So, would Borderlands be considered a FPS or open world game?
Ya, f'd up on that. Well, Gears of War 2 and Resident Evil 5 definitely are TPS's and Fallout 3 is primarily an RPG. So, at least 3 shouldn't be on the list Anyways, still mystified as why Half-Life 2 wasn't included.
What?! Buy a new house so I can play crappy games.
Not only that, all the official "debunking" has been by MS spokesmen. These guys are BS specialists, so I agree that they need to be debunked by actual gamers and the gaming press. Sorry, but I can't believe their BS like Kinect having 1:1 tracking when you can see with your own eyes that its bunk.
Sony must be pleased. Good press right before launch.
Watch the avatars while the guys move around, especially the guy on the right. The arms flail around and often not matching what the guy is doing. It really starts going crazy around the 40 sec mark and goes nuts when he tries holding and moving things. Really funny part is when his head looks like it attached to the side of his body. Wow, the Kinect is just full of fail and I can't believe the lies MS puts out that it has 1:1 tracking. This video shows just what total BS that is.
I think BF2 is still better than any COD game and its 5 years old. BF3 will probably be the ultimate FPS when it comes out.
The BF series just has the right mix of tactical, squad-based teamwork and vehicular combat. COD games are just "twitch" shooters with mostly "lone-wolves" and campers (god I hate "kill-streaks"). I also don't like how you can't pick your spawn point and there are no squad mechanics or squad spawning ability. I think the major reason I like BF games more is that COD developers cater to console crowd while completely forgetting it was PC gamers who put it ...
The author really should look up the definition of FPS because he includes a few TPS's (third person shooters) in there. Left 4 Dead 2, Borderlands, Gears of War 2 and Resident Evil 5 are all games I'd classify as TPS's. In addition, Fallout 3 should really be considered a RPG. So, by my count, at least 5 games shouldn't be on this list. Also, a little curious as to why Half-life 2 didn't make the list. It really should be included in any top FPS game list.
Agreed and that's why he was having such a terrible result. No faking the Move with gestures and wrist flicks like the Wii.
Kudo Tsunoda says, "We’ve done tests back at the office where we have a TV, flash a light on the screen and we’ll have a controller, and have someone there hitting a button, and someone with Kinect clapping as soon as they see the light on the screen, and both things go just as fast as one another. Whether you’re using a controller or making a gesture, it doesn’t make a difference". I call total BS on that. No way someone can clap their hands and have it recognized faster than pushi...
These days, you don't even need to invest in a high-end PC to enjoy gaming. I put mine together for only $500 and I get along just fine. $800 will get you a pretty damn good system and anything over that is probably overkill. I also have a PS3, though, for the games I can't get on the PC (like RDR) and games that play better on consoles (like FIFA). I like having the PC/PS3 combo since they are also the two mostly adult gaming systems. Too many teens on the 360 for my tastes.
