Ya, that's another laughable statement. I fail to see how Kinect can be incorporated into a "core" game without it being a gimmick. At best, you could throw a grenade in a shooter or have head tracking in racing game. However, Kinect only "core" games will probably be limited to "on-rails" experiences because of the limitations of camera based games.
I think his point was that iPad sold 3 million units in 3 months and he thinks the Kinect will sell 3 million between launch and Xmas. Even if it does, it's an absolutely ridiculous statement and comparison to make. The iPad starts at around $600 and goes up to $1,000 depending on the model. The moron is trying to compare that with a device that's only $150. Well, duh....I hope it sells better.
How about his statements about the Kinect having 1:1 tracking or Kinect Adventures is a "core" game. This guy has a habit of absurd statements.
This Kinect spokesman Kudo Tsunoda really takes the cake for PR BS. First he says Kinect has 1:1 tracking when no game or demo has even come close to showing that. Then, he says Kinect Adventures is a "core" game. Now, he's comparing a $150 device with something that starts at around $600 and goes much higher. What BS will come out of his mouth next?
Well that's cool about KZ2...I didn't know that was coming. That's one of the great things about the Move: ability to be patched and played on existing games.
I thought the Lord of the Rings was a Kinect game (and on-rails at that).
Ya, but the Wii is a slowly dying platform and the SD resolution is just a big turn-off for me. Personally, I'd save the money and go with the better technology.
I believe you mean Killzone 3. I don't know if KZ2 is getting Move support.
Flapping your arms, pretending to fly is fun? Like I said, maybe for a 3rd grader. OK, fine. Flap your arms around to fly and have fun with that. Still sounds pathetic to me.
"Could be fun but time will tell". Wow, you got disagrees for that comment. WTF? Just sounds like common sense to me. Am I missing something?
Like my alter-ego Maxwell Smart, Agent-86 would say "sorry about that chief".
Wow, almost forgot about BF2142...might have to reinstall that puppy now with this new patch. Its almost like the 1.5 patch for BF2 that added the expansion packs and new maps. This is why I really enjoy gaming on a PC: free stuff to extend a game's lifespan.
You know you can sell your 360 plus games and accessories to Gamestop or on eBay to help defer the cost (plus you save $150 or so not having to pay for XBL for 3 years). And, actually, "300 bucks for 3 years worth of play time" really isn't that bad an investment. I do that for my PC about every 3-5 years with upgrades.
Flapping your arms around to "fly"....what a joke! Man, and I thought Kevin Butler was just joking around with the "pew, pew, pew" comment. That just really looks pathetic. Kinect looks like something for 3rd graders to use during "make believe" time. Oh look, I can fly.
From the pics and brief story at the actual Gamepro link, I see no examples of brawling or a messy launch party. Is the poster deliberately trying to be provocative? Why doesn't the title just have the same title as the Gamepro article? "PlayStation Move Sydney launch party".
Look closer at the title: "Sega reveals Rise of Nightmare for Kinect". See the "rise of nightmare for Kinect" in there? The title almost looks like Kinect will give a rise of a nightmare....get it now?
There will probably never be any "hardcore" Kinect games because its just not possible with camera games. The Eyetoy couldn't do it, the PS Eye couldn't do it....what makes you think that the Kinect can? Camera games will always be limited which is why Dr. Marks and Sony has "moved" passed them. At best, Kinect will be added as some gimmick to a core game: like throwing a grenade in a shooter or head tracking in a racing game. But the main gameplay will be with a c...
Seems like a good game for including Move support with using the Move as the flashlight and the Navigator Controller for movement.
There are three gaming platforms: Computers (PC's, Mac's, laptops), Consoles (PS3, 360, Wii), and Handhelds (DS, PSP, iPhone, etc.). Comparing sales between platforms is like comparing apples with oranges. If you think the DS will be the best selling system of all time, then what about the PC? I know there are more computers in the world than DS (or PS2's for that matter). Should I say the PC is best selling game system of all time?
This is true, but MSNBC is a joint venture with Microsoft, hence the MS in MSNBC. So, in a way, MS is endorsing the Move.
