Unfortunately, most developers don't support keyboard/mouse for PS3 games. Who knows? Its possible that the Move might be the next best thing to make FPS/RTS games better for the PS3. We'll see when it comes out and we can actually test it out. For the time being, though, I'm sticking with the PC for FPS/RTS games and the PS3 for most everything else.
I have to say that this was a nice, well balanced three part article. It showed the pros and cons of both the HD consoles pretty fairly. Now, since I'm primarily a PC gamer, I bought a PS3 because I thought it was a better complement to my PC. However, the 360 does has it pros, but I felt I have most games covered with the PC/PS3 combo: PC for my FPS/RTS games (since I think that the keyboard/mouse is best for those type games) and the PS3 for the unique exclusives that are just not on th...
@ZombieAutopsy, I agree with you that this guy in the video really nails it (I really like when the cartoon character starts throwing up....lol). The more you see of the Kinect, the more problems and limitations there are: Can't play sitting down, only 2 can play, need lots of room, ladies can't wear skirts, huge lag, glitches, games are overpriced, and on and on.
My PC is for all my FPS and RTS games (which are simply better on a PC) while the PS3 makes a great complement with its remarkable lineup of exclusive games. I got my PS3 slim Oct. last year after the Slim launch and price drop. It's been a great purchase. I really enjoyed the major exclusives (like UC 1 & 2, Infamous, GOW3, Heavy Rain) with some others that are not available on my PC (like Red Dead Redemption, Fight Night 4, Madden 10) and ones that are just better on the PS3 than th...
This article must have been recycled. Although the date is recent, the writer is talking about "Xbox 360 Elite, which is the flagship of the 360 console". Shouldn't it be about the new 360s? Isn't that the flagship now? "The Xbox 360 Elite boasts a huge hard drive of 120GB". Huh, 120gb is bigger than the 250gb on the 360s?
Not only that, he mentions some seriously old games: COD 4 and FIFA 2009. And to top it off, the writer starts the article by s...
$70 is still a rip when I can get one for PC for around $20.
I can't believe this article writer. What a bunch of BS! Kinect is the next generation of gaming? If so, we're all in trouble and gaming is going to suck in the future. Count me out on your "next generation"! I'll stick with the controller for consoles and keyboard/mouse for my PC.
Oh no, Kinect is going to be like HAL. "Move Left". No response. "Please Comply". And then it shocks you, ZZZAAAPPP! "Please Comply".
The more you see of the Kinect, the more problems and limitations there are: Can't play sitting down, only 2 can play, need lots of room, ladies can't wear skirts, huge lag, glitches, games are overpriced, and on and on. What happened to the Natal shown at E3 2009? I guess MS is a lot like politicians: just a bunch of promises and not much substance.
Wow, good to see a nice, balanced article here. I have a PC and PS3, so I happen to be that 19-50 age group that likes their graphics. However, I think that the 360 and Wii highlights were very fair. Definitely not a flame article and hope to see it approved.
NNNOOO! BF3 needs to be a PC exclusive so it doesn't get "dumbed down" for the consoles. Look, I own a PS3, but I still want this to be exclusive for the PC. God, I hope they don't ruin the Battefield franchise.
But, hey, controller-less games are an all new revolutionary product that has never been done before. Ya, right. As your video shows, its been done before and it still sucks!
@HorsePowerr, I agree with you completely. The article writer also mentions that it supposedly looks like fun. Only thing he forgot to mention was that the ladies are paid models. Look closely and you'll see Kinect on each of them (one kind of like a tattoo and the other on her top). Of course they look like they're having fun; they're being paid to have fun (and look good!).
I'm a PC gamer, but I wanted to pick up a console to have access to games unavailable on the PC. These are the reasons I choose the PS3 slim when it came out last year:
EXCLUSIVES: The PS3 lineup is just better and across more genres. Most of the 360 exclusives are also on PC and the games that are truly exclusive, like Halo, I'm just not interested in since PC FPS's are so much better (imho).
FREE ONLINE: As a PC gamer, I'm long used to havin...

Good to see a kindred spirit. I also have the PC/PS3 combo and have to say that its the best choice for hardcore gamers. My PC only cost me $500 to build and plays all the games just fine.
*Bubbles and Agrees for you!
Dr. Richard Marks has also talked about the cost of tech. MS had to drop the chip inside the Kinect in an effort to bring down its cost (the thing would have cost around $200 with it!). So, as a result, the Kinect is now a "leech" on the 360's processing power (using about 15%). One of the main reasons you will probably never see a hardcore game using it since they can't afford the loss of processing power. The Kinect is probably destined to be strictly casual, Wii shovelwar...

Even at $89, it isn't worth it for PS Eye 1.5 and the Wii shovelware type games. But, as the saying goes: there's a sucker born every minute. Plus, MS really knows how to market to suckers.
See, I'm a pretty old time gamer and went through the near death of the video game market in the early 1980's. However, it wasn't the NES or SNES that got me back into gaming (Nintendo was and is still too oriented towards kids for my tastes). No, it was the Genesis. That console renewed my faith in video games again and I have been gaming consistently ever since.
Through the years, it was replaced by the PSone, then the PS2, and now my current gaming set-up: the ...
