@SOAD, I never told you to "GTFO troll", so I don't know what you're talking about. And, yes, I do have fun and do have friends. Geeze, can't someone express an opinion. Sorry, no, I don't like arcadey shooters like Halo and Unreal. I also don't enjoy FPS that go for too much simulation/realism like Arma. I prefer shooters that are halfway between realism and arcade like the Battlefield and COD series. Like I said at the end of my post, "to each their own&qu...
@rroded, you are right that core games are just about impossible with the Kinect and MS gutting it. Just imagine, though, if MS kept the chip and higher quality camera, the damn thing would have been over $200 and been a complete fail. Now, the price is still too high and the thing has no appeal to core gamers. Only casual gamers can save it and they can be a fickle bunch.
I just don't get the appeal of Halo. To me it just seems like Unreal Tournament with the same kind of cartoony graphics, constant jumping around, and that same annoying "disembodied voice": "First Kill", "Double Kill", "Killing Streak". And what's with the ridiculous bright red and blue costumes? I guess, in the future, camouflage isn't needed and there's a need to stick out as much as possible. They kind of look like bright red and blue...
No, MS just came up with an Eyetoy copy that does Wii party games. Oh joy.
The girl in the video is hot and love her accented English. However, I'm still not buying the Kinect. Gameplay looks childish and I don't see any games for the core gamer like myself. Nope, I'll stick with my keyboard/mouse for my PC and a controller for my console.
This article writer sure is a dreamer. I seriously doubt that any of these games will be made for the Kinect. They might have been possible, if MS didn't gut it to get the price down: chip removed (adding to the lag) and resolution cut (fine movement won't be detected). Kinect is destined to be a gaming device for the casual audience only. But, I guess this guy can be a dreamer.
MS removed finger tracking ability so no one could give Kinect the "middle finger salute".
I'm a PC gamer, but I picked up a PS3 slim last year because I wanted to play some games that are not available on my PC. So, I went with the PS3 and its better lineup of exclusives. I believe I have the best of both worlds. PC + PS3 = Awesome Combo.
@3sq, Starter Pack is $100, not $70. So, his math is: Starter Pack $100, 2nd Move $50, and one Nav Controller $30 = $180.
@Donald4, well, technically, that's only one reason....lol. Great game, though, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have a PC/PS3 combo and think its the best of both worlds. Only games I miss out on are some 360 ones, but a majority are also on PC, so I have most the bases covered.
@Pandamobile, you nailed it and you make a great analogy. I made some of the same points in my #3.1 post above. Bubbles and agrees for you!
@Shoko, I agree with you and the article writer's three reasons aren't very good.
1) Simplicity. Its actually not that hard to find out if a game will run on your PC. Just go to "Can You Run It?". Input a game and it gives you an answer. Simple as that.
2) Online Gameplay. Huh?! Online gameplay was invented on the PC. And what, he's actually putting down dedicated servers? Server lists make PC games superior to console match making. You want frie...
@Genesis5, I have the same setup: PC and PS3 hooked to the same HDTV (40" 1080p). I'm mostly a PC gamer, but I picked up a PS3 slim last year because I wanted to play some games that are not available on my PC. So, I went with the PS3 and its better lineup of exclusive games. I believe I have the best of both worlds. PC + PS3 = Awesome Combo!
I own a PC and glad to see it #1 on this list. However, I consider the PC a gaming platform and not a console. I believe there are three gaming platforms: computers (PC's, Mac's and Linux), consoles (PS3, 360, Wii), and handheld/portable (DS, PSP, iPhone, etc.). If PC's are a console, then they should be included in the console sales articles that fanboys always like to throw around. If PC's were included, they would obviously be the top selling "console".

That is indeed a sad list of games. How can you be excited about any of them? All fitness, dance and party game crap. The only core games are iffy at best. Fable 3 has already been reported to not have Kinect support and Forza 3 looks like a total gimmick. Why would you want to ruin a good racer by having no accelerator or brake control and hold your hands on an imaginary wheel?
I was actually one of the few PC gamers who actually kept his promise to boycott MW2 over lack of dedicated servers and glad I never bought it. I agree with the author that the last good COD was COD:UO and its gone downhill ever since. That's because it became an arcadey shooter with unbalanced perks and overpowered killstreaks (which just encourage camping). However, hopefully, Treyarch can reverse the trend and bring back some of its previous glory.
@Yi-Long, I agree with you and think it will fail. Its major problem is that its games are limited to dance, exercise, and Eyetoy/Wii type games. Games also have to be designed for it from the ground up, so it can't be patched to work with existing games; limiting it to launch only games (which aren't very impressive). In addition, since its sort of a leech and uses 10-15% of the 360's processor, its highly unlikely that it'll be incorporated into future core games. Also, 3rd ...
@Ivan Drago IV, you may be on to something. I just read that Sony is offering the PS3 with a game for $299. That's not much different than offering it for $249 by itself. I think we could very well see a $249 120gb and a $299 250gb PS3 by Christmas....maybe right around the time of the Kinect launch. Hmmmmm! Because, if Japan is any indication, the 120/250gb PS3's may need to be cleared out to make room for the new 160/320gb versions that may be coming in.
Wrong, PC gamer mostly, but I do have a PS3 as a sidekick (for games not available on PC). However, I don't see how its reverent since I didn't mention a PS3 game at all. In fact, I like the BF and COD series myself and just don't care for arcadey shooters like Halo or Unreal (which I've played both, for the record). Sorry to PS3 owners as well, but I prefer my shooters on a PC with a keyboard/mouse. OK, its now safe for all you console fanboys to flame me.
