Bravo! Bubbles for you! BF3 is going to be epic. I, for one, was one of the few who actually followed through on the MW2 boycott when they took out dedicated servers for PC. I am glad I did because that game is a joke of a hackfest on PC (Plus only 18 players? Really, for a PC shooter?). Didn't buy Black Ops either. Though it did bring back dedicated servers, it still has only 18 players on PC. No thanks. BFBC2 was just so much better than the last COD games....BF3 will completely blow th...
"They do realize they've been charging the same price for six year old tech for something like 2, 3 years now, right?" You do realize it's MS, right? The kings of milking their "cash cows". Actually, I think the PC/PS3 is the best combo. PC is my preferred platform (especially for FPS and RTS with KB/M) and a lot of 360 "exclusives" are also on the PC, making the 360 a little redundant for me. The PS3 just has more of the console exclusives that I wanted ...
Quote from the article: "PC gamers are usually better than their console counterparts at FPS games because they have the mouse which is a huge advantage. Though now it may seem that console owners, or more specifically Kinect owners could have the upper hand."
The upper hand, really? I'm sorry, but they'll still get owned by KB/M users. Don't understand why they even try. Kinect might be able to do FPS games, but they never do them well. I play shooters ...
Well said, indeed. I'm a PC/PS3 gamer already and Steam coming to the PS3 is great news. 2011 is going to be a crazy good year with all the great shooters coming for the PC and the Sony's excellent lineup of PS3 exclusives. My wallet is certainly going to hurt.
@CrzyFool, nice post and well said. Even before Steam coming to PS3, I always thought that the PC and PS3 make a great combo. When Steam gets fully integrated with the PS3, then the PC/PS3 combo will the best in gaming.
Believe it will have it since Win XP and DX9 will not even be supported.
Too much effort, tiring for long stretches, and not accurate enough. KB/M or standard controller are much better interfaces for FPS games.
"Where is motion control gaming going?" Hopefully to the video game graveyard.
@BigKurz8 is exactly correct and is showing one of the proper ways to phrase it: "Buy 2, Get 1 Free". The other way they could of said it would be: "Buy 3 For The Price of 2". They could have even gone with: "Buy 3, Get 1 Of Them Free". However, by saying "Buy 3, Get 1 Free", they are implying that you have to buy 3 in order to get the free game (4 in total).
Two mistakes. First, it is Gears of War 3, not 2. Second, the list is not in any particular order or there would be numbers attached to them, so GOW3 is not the most anticipated shooter of 2011. Maybe for you, but for me it'll be BF3.
Yep, BF3 all the way! That is also my most anticipated shooter, as well. This was a pretty good list, at least. I'll probably be picking up over half of them. Another one I'm looking forward to that wasn't on the list is Homefront.
No, not poor, I just don't see the need for a $250 handheld and rather put that money into HD gaming; that's just where my priorities are. I have a gaming PC and a PS3 hooked up to a 40" LCDTV (not really a "poor man's" setup). Plus, I still think $250 for a handheld with games at almost full pop is just too much. I don't spend that much time playing games on the go to justify that.
Damn thing is going to be expensive, though...around $250. I also saw an article stating that the games will also be expensive, nearly as much as full console games. I don't really have a need for a handheld, especially one that costs so much. It will probably do well, though. Like the Kinect, the hype for the thing has been astronomical.
Don't worry, the PC version will be better than either console.
Doesn't matter. It will be much better on PC anyways.
1 percent isn't that bad considering how terrible the economy has been lately. Now that things are beginning to pick up, I have a feeling 2011 will be a big "up" year for video gaming. And, considering all the great titles coming this year, I know it's going to be hard on my wallet, but I'll be buying more this year than last.
I can see how the Move can make the batting experience better in MLB 11, but how about the pitching? Holding a Move won't feel like a ball plus pretend throwing the thing at full force at your expensive TV doesn't sound like a good idea (even with a strap, it could easily slip away). Also, pitching and batting a complete game could be very tiring that way. Maybe, they will be keeping the traditional pitching interface and just use motion with the batting.
Oh cool. I loved the Panzer General games in their day. Hope they do it justice. Good to see PG get some recognition lately. The developers of Civ 5 also stated that PG was a major influence in that game's design.
Good comment Bathyj. Except, I think you meant blinders on, not blinkers on. At least I hope that's what you meant, because looking at some of these comments, there are a lot of delusional fanboys who think this is a viable option.
I just read that the MP in Crysis 2 is only 6v6 players. I surely hope that is only for the consoles and the PC has higher player counts. 12 player games can barely be called MP (it gets really boring killing and being killed by the same people over and over). And I thought Black Ops was a joke with only 18 players. Looking forward to a real MP experience with a game like BF3. That game should be epic!
