I don't like MS enough to support the company and, as a consumer, it is my right to support the companies I see fit. I don't reward companies that I don't respect. This is not an insult to the 360 or 360 users. I just don't like MS as a company and choose not to support them whenever possible.
Anti-trust violations to start. Or is that ethical to leverage your monopoly to screw customers.
XBL is a complete scam. MS made $1.2 billion off of XBL last year and it was split about 50/50 between subscriptions and XBLA games, DLC, etc. The profit margin on XBL gold subscriptions was 85%. That means $42 of every $50 360 users send every year goes straight to MS's pockets. And what does this "ethical" company do? They raise the price by $10, so they can suck up even more of their money.
MS knows they have their customers right where they want them....capt...
Wow, thanks for the laugh. Oh, the irony of it all. MS is among the "Most Ethical" while Google and Apple are not. One of the primary reasons I won't ever buy a 360 is because of MS's reputation of unethical behavior and anti-competitive business practices. Guess they just decided to buy themselves a new reputation: MS "has since donated millions to non-profits, invested in programs for economic development, and tightened up its internal reporting processes. All of this...
Got a laugh out of the caption added to the Golden Gate Bridge battle: "This is why I never drive to Oakland." The GG Bridge goes to Marin County, not Oakland. That would be the Bay Bridge. Wow, you'd think a PC gaming site would know a little more about the Bay Area considering Silicon Valley is located there.
Ya, the article doesn't make much sense, but there is a link to a Politico article that makes it clearer. I guess it's about making communication easier. Here's a quote from that article:
This includes talk of introducing the technology to the oil and gas industry, enabling “engineers in the farthest-flung parts of the world to be able to communicate with one another … and collaborate with the offshore engineering teams with the kind of precision that’s easy with...
My guess is that August/September will be when the beta is released. I'm with you, though, I was hoping for an earlier release date. Oh well, you can't rush perfection and I'm just glad it's coming out this year.
Spell check please. Reprocussions? It's Repercussions.
Aren't Wii's already in Retirement Homes?
Good read, but I think the word he is looking for is Resistance, not Friction. By having no buttons or feedback, Kinect lacks the tactile response you get when using a controller or even a KB/M. The author uses the example of hitting with Fighters Uncaged. When you connect with a real punch, your arm stops when it contacts something which you can't get when you're swinging at the air. That's really more of an example of a lack of Resistance, not Friction.
Great write-up! Love this quote from DICE: "We want to make a game for grown-ups. We don’t want to make a children’s game, a twitch, infantry-focused on-drugs sugar-rush experience. This needs to be an adult game with mature features and depth." Can't wait for this game!
BF3 is considered a "core" BF game such as BF1942 or BF2. Bad Company is more of a "spinoff" and a separate game universe from the the "core" BF series.
@NYC_Gamer, I agree. COD is not my type game; I'm more of a Battlefield player. I don't hate COD, but I don't like how so many shooters try to copy it since its the most popular game on the planet. FPS's need to find their own identities and stick to them. Battlefield, Killzone, Halo, and, recently, Bulletstorm all manage to have their own style and earn my respect. The COD clones do not.
Ya, no BF3, so a fail list.
I'm a PC/PS3 gamer. It makes a great combo.
Looks good and I have high hopes for Homefront, but I doubt it will be a COD killer. For that, I'm thinking BF3 will be the one. It simply looks amazing. Homefront looks like it could be a great game, though, and keep me occupied till BF3 comes out.
@TROLOLOLOL, I think you can get a GTX 460 for that amount. I have two of them in SLI and they are great cards. Make sure you get the 1gb model, though.
Ya, you can tell it's a PC clip when there is the one scene where he is dragging his guy to safety: you can see the WASD keys on the screen. So glad I have a rig to play this thing because it is going to rock.
Last time I saw a bus like that was the Urban Assault Vehicle from the movie Stripes. This one certainly has more weapons, though.
I heard the problem is with SP1. I have just Win 7 installed and its working fine. Try reinstalling and skipping SP1 for now. You'll have to change Updates off of "Install updates automatically" and make it "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them". That way you can install important updates, but skip SP1 till they get the issues fixed.
