Wow, how did you find that? Most of the paragraphs are word for word, outright plagiarism. Anyways, good find and great detective work.

Unfortunately, that doesn't mute the morons with their "open mics". I prefer using TeamSpeak or some other communication program that allows "push to talk". But then again, PC gamers have lots of options and this is just another example. Console gamepads only have so many buttons and developers probably don't want to sacrifice one for "push to talk". My guess is "open mics" are here to stay for consoles in the foreseeable future.

Except on PC. Most of the games I've played that have Voip, also have a key assigned or make it possible to assign a key for talking. In our gaming community, we use TeamSpeak and make "push to talk" mandatory because of the things the author has pointed out. Open mics are just too chaotic and noisy.

Really? For the love of god, why? RTS games are meant to be played with a KB/M. A Kinect RTS would be less accurate, more laggy, and extremely tiring (imagine waving your arms around like a symphony conductor for hours). This was clearly an April Fool's Joke and not meant to be taken seriously.

Wow, this is a joke, right? An April Fools joke? That can be the only explanation. Pretty damn lame one, though. There has to be some better ones out there.

No, that's one of the community requests, that consoles also get 64 players (plus PC gamers were asking for 128). Neither are likely to happen, but I think they'll get consoles up to 32 players, if they get enough feedback from the community. I'll be playing on PC, so I'm just glad to see a game get some true "PC love" for a change. Thank you DICE! Really looking forward to this game.

@GodofwarGoty & Zack1, there wasn't a beta key included with the game. I believe you are automatically signed up if you registered the game and played it online.

@bluwulf, I loved me some Desert Combat. Next to Counter Strike, probably the best mod ever made. Stopped playing stock BF1942 once that came out.

No recruit here, I'm a grizzled Battlefield veteran. Played everyone one of those games on the list and love DICE's take on MP games. BF3 is going to be epic and is my most anticipated game of the year. If you've never played a BF game, do yourself a favor and give them a try. New recruits are always welcome.

That's why I own both. I'm primarily a PC gamer, but I also have a PS3 so I don't miss out on what consoles have to offer. It's a great combo to have. I do my FPS, RTS and most mulitplat games on PC plus I have the PS3 for its great exclusives and the console only games (like RDR and most of EA Sports games).

I like this quote from the article: "My biggest gripe with Xbox 360 is an extreme scarcity of first party exclusives, while my PS3 thrives in exclusive titles and content, and my PC plays every 3rd party game in superiority." That is me right there. I'm primarily a PC gamer, but I have a PS3 as my console "sidekick". They make a great combo and I miss out on very few games.

And it has been that way for months. Pretty impressive, but, hey, PC gaming is dead....right?

@budgetgamer, you are not paying more for the console version. Please go to EA Store or Amazon or any other place you can preorder and the price is the same $60 across all platforms.

Well said and thank you for pointing that out. I'm really getting annoyed with these console complainers (not all console owners, just the whiny ones). BF2 had scalable maps depending on the server (16, 32 and 64 player variations of each map). The 32 player maps were still great fun and I'm sure the console version of BF3 will also be great fun. Sure, it won't be the best way to play it, but then you're lucky to be playing this PC masterpiece on your 5 year old tech anyways. ...

$60 games are especially hard on new IP's and AA games. I really think there needs to be a new $40 tier of games ($40 release price), so publishers and developers could take more risks. The game industry is leading to AAA titles being primarily sequels to established IP's. The $60 price tag really affects the sales of new IP's. Look at the weak sales of some new ones from 2010 and may not be seeing sequels: Blur, Split/Second, Vanquish, Singularity, and sure there were plenty of o...

I agree with most of your assessment; however, I wouldn't include online poker as PC gaming revenue because it is more gambling than gaming. Plus, the money generated isn't going to video gaming industry, but rather it goes to the gambling industry and should be counted in their figures. Now, I know there are poker games sold as video games and they should be included, but they also don't involve betting with real money.

There are many problems with this comparison. First, they are showing screenshots from Crysis 2 SP and comparing it to BFBC2's MP (check the mini-map on BFBC2 shots and you can see the ticket counts and bases). Second, even if they compared both MP modes, BFBC2 supports 32 players with large maps and destructible environments while Crysis 2 has small MP maps with only 12 players with minimal destruction. Lastly, the games are a year apart....a lot happens in a year and with extra developm...

I actually spent about $800 for my PC and got some decent hardware: 2 - 1gb GTX 460's in SLI with a AMD 965 quad core, MSI NF980-G65 MoBo, 4gb RAM, 500gb HDD, Antec 300 case with 750watt Corsair PSU. Of course I had to do some very serious shopping to get everything in at $800, but the same stuff would have only cost about $1,000 without my discounts. Got the PC and PS3 hooked to the same 40" HDTV on my desk in my room plus a nice, comfy desk chair with padded armrests. Ah, gaming ni...

I do most of my gaming on PC because I prefer the controls (actually the abundance of control options) plus the higher resolution and graphics. However, the PS3 has made a great "sidekick" to my PC gaming. I got a PS3 so I could play those console only games like RDR, EA sports games (FIFA is the only one on PC anymore), and some of the many Sony 1st party exclusives. I think the 360 is a fine console, but I believe the PS3 makes a better compliment for the PC gamer. Most 360 exclus...

Speak for yourself. For me, BF3 all the way. Mirror's Edge was a fine game, but I played BF2 for hundreds of hours. No comparison. BF3 is going to be epic.
