I agree, this list just doesn't cut it. Look, I'm a PC gamer and I can admit when a game is better on console. EA sports games come to mind. I had FIFA 10 on PC and PS3: the PS3 version was much better. FIFA 12, though, looks like it might finally have a winner on PC.

Well, the site changed it's title after my post. Good to see that our comments are actually being read. :)

It's really worse than that because the site's math is wrong. $30 is 50% higher than $20, not 1/3 as shown ($30 - $20 = $10, $10 / $20 = 50%). 1/3 of $20 is $6.67, so 1/3 higher would actually be $26.67. If you were to discount a game from $30 to $20, then that would be a 1/3 reduction. Increasing a price from $20 to $30 is 50% increase.

I would say it's more than just FPS games that need the additional stick. 3rd person shooters like Gears 3 and 3rd person action games like Uncharted 3 are also genres that benefit from a 2nd stick.

@lastduel, well said. Bubbles up.

Same with Horde mode. It's been used in RTS games for years, especially the Tower Defense type games: waves and waves of progressively harder enemies (sound familiar?). Most developers borrow stuff from each other. It's tough to be completely original these days since most game types/modes/genres have been thought up already. That said, Gears 3 still looks to be a great game. So, no need to insult UC3, Cliffy. It looks like a great game as well. Leave the "Vs Wars" to BF3 vs...

To those who complain that 9 maps isn't enough, you need to realize that it is 9 maps for each mode. Each mode will have a different version of each map: a Rush map will be set up completely different than a Conquest map (different areas of the map will be open or closed). Especially the new TDM mode where the map will be smaller and more infantry focused. It will be almost like having 27 maps. This will be different than COD where most modes (except specialty modes like Zombie or Spec Op...

Kinect + Rock Band = What? Air guitar at it's finest? Add along some "air drums" and no peripherals needed for this one (other than the Kinect, of course).

The only thing that would make XBL worth it, in my opinion, is dedicated servers for all games (or at least the AAA ones). As a PC gamer, I know the importance of dedicated servers to game performance and enjoyment. I often donate to servers that I like and have been a member of gaming communities where you wanted to donate to the upkeep. By the end of a year, I have usually donated around $50-60 a year (roughly the same amount a XBL gold account would cost).

Without dedicate...

No doubt MW3 will sell more than BF3. However, my prediction is BF3 will outsell MW3 on PC. PC gamers appreciate the extra effort that DICE is putting into the PC version while I think Activision has taken PC COD fans for granted for too long and let the series go seriously downhill on that platform. However, PS3 gamers have also been treated as second class citizens by the Activision/COD/360 alliance and maybe they'll wise up and turn to BF3 as well.

Pretty stupid article, though. They are basing this on a survey with 129 votes cast out of the millions of people who will be buying these games. Damn small sample to make such a bold statement. Sounds like just another one of those articles designed to get hits with provocative titles.

In full disclosure, I'm a BF fan and will be getting BF3 on PC (very doubtful I'll get MW3). However, I'm also a realist and know that MW3 will sell more than BF3 on the consoles. ...

@notimetodeidle, good to see another PC/PS3 combo gamer. I'm mostly a PC gamer and like to play FPS and RTS games on my PC. I use the PS3 mainly for console only games like Red Dead Redemption (wish that was on PC) and Sony exclusives like Uncharted and Infamous (looking forward to Twisted Metal next year). Since I prefer my FPS games on PC, I'll be playing BF3 rather than MW3. I appreciate the extra effort that DICE is putting into BF3 and dislike the "taking for granted" a...

I agree and won't be buying it either. Rather presumptuous of this article writer. I haven't bought a COD game since MW1. I just don't like the arcadey, twitch gaming that it's turned into (also hate the killstreaks and it helped ruin COD for me). Plus, I'm a PC gamer and the COD series has absolutely gone downhill on that platform in both quality and player counts. When MW2 went to 18 players without dedicated servers, I knew COD wasn't for me anymore.

@gw4k, absolutely agree. What were these guys smoking? Better than BF3 or MW3? Hell no! What a freaking joke! Here is a link to some leaked footage since the article didn't include any. You be the judge.

@S_C, the problem is that you are paying in advance for all DLC and only saving $10 or 5 quid in your case ($60 of future DLC for $50). How do you know if the future DLC is any good? Doesn't matter because you are buying it all now despite knowing the quality. Personally, if I'm going to get DLC (rarely do, but occasionally), I would like to pick and choose the ones I want rather than having the whole thing forced on you for a slightly lower price.

The article makes a great call in recommending Panzer Corps as a good title for release on PSN/XBLA. I was a beta tester on the game and it is the perfect title to hook console gamers into good strategy games. It's streamlined enough so that it could easily be played with a controller. Also, not too difficult to learn that anyone should feel overwhelmed. Just like Panzer General did in it's day. I played that on the original PlayStation and it got me hooked on strategy games.

Nothing to do about living in America. The article mentions 10 bucks for Civ 5. Bucks is slang for US dollars (as far as I know, Euros are not called "bucks"). So, one would assume from reading the article, that the author is stating that Civ 5 is $10 US. That is not true and I was just pointing it out. The game is $17 US which makes the title and article deceiving. All the author had to due was say 10 Euros, not bucks, and there would have been no problem.

It isn't $10. If you look close at the picture, that price is 10 Euros (it has the distinctive E symbol). When I go to the US GamersGate site, the price is actually $17. Still a great deal, but the title is deceiving.

@vortis, you obviously didn't read my comment very closely. I never said the KB/M was better than a contoller. My point was that the KB/M or controller is infinitely better than any motion control gimmick. Yes, I did mention KB/M for PC and controller for console, but that's only because those are the dominate control schemes for each platform. You may use a 360 controller on the PC, but the vast majority use a KB/M. Same with consoles. Some may use a KB/M adapter, but most use the co...
