If MS did another 180 with the Xbox One, should we call it the Xbox 360? Now wouldn't that be confusing!
@CapraDemon, very good blog and just like one I was considering doing. I can't really think of how a rational person could chose an Xbone over the PS4. However, I'd add a couple things to your points (what I would have included had I got around to writing a similar blog).
1) System Specs: Not only does the PS4 have better RAM, it also has more available for gaming. Xbone has 3 operating systems, each using about a GB of RAM. So, it really only has 5GB of DDR3 availabl...
"It depends on the persons taste and if I was a PC gamer I'm not going to buy a console for one game." Very true. I'm a PC gamer, but I ended up buying a console as a "sidekick" so I wouldn't miss out on console only games (Red Dead Redemption was one of those games). I went with the PS3 because I liked it's lineup of exclusives better than the 360. Plus, since my console is only a "sidekick", I didn't want to pay MS $50 a year for the privile...
From the article: "And it’s shocking that Modern Warfare 3 is nowhere to be found. This is a real blow to Activision as last week, Battlefield 3 has managed to surpass MW3 and this week, the gap between these two titles has been increased."
PC gamers know which is the better game.
Yep, a gaming PC and a PS3 is a great gaming combo. However, I'm just the opposite and I've been playing the PC more than my PS3. The PS3 is mainly for exclusives while I play just about everything else on PC. BF3 is just so much more incredible on PC!

I have a similar setup, but with a windows PC and a 40" HDTV. A gaming PC and a PS3 is a great gaming combo!

What was the author's source of information to claim the 360 sold the most consoles worldwide? In fact, no numbers or sources were even listed. According to this article (link below), the PS3 sold more worldwide (14m vs 13.3m). In fact, it looks like the PS3 sold more than the 360 in every year listed (2009-2011) and the first month of this year. So, may the author explain to me how "it'll stay that way in 2012" when it looks like the 360 has been outsold worldwide for at le...
COD has been dead to me for at least 4 years; buried it long ago. It was a nice funeral, though. Made me cry.
As another PC gamer, I have to agree with both your points: this was a great article and COD just hasn't been worth playing since MW. My actual favorite was COD:UO because it had larger maps and vehicles. Great fun! Oh well, like the author, I moved on as well. BFBC2 and BF3 were much better games; I haven't missed COD at all.
Yep, my setup as well. I have my PC for FPS, RTS and most multiplats while I have the PS3 for console only games plus Sony's great exclusive lineup. Best of both worlds. BF3 on PC + UC3 on PS3 = Gaming Nirvana.
Sorry, but this article has it wrong. If you prefer something, that means it is better in your mind. How can you prefer something that is inferior? I prefer BF3 because I think it is better than MW3. In my view, it has better MP, gameplay, graphics and sound. So, how can I say I prefer BF3, but MW3 is better? It doesn't make any sense. If I prefer BF3, then it has to be better to me, or why waste time playing it?
Glad I'm a PC gamer and dedicate myself to games instead of a console manufacturer. This generation's "console war" of PS3 vs 360 seems to be much worse than previous generations. Maybe because the sales figures are so close made it more bitter. Or, this generation's gamers are a pathetic bunch.
Whatever the cause, just enjoy the games, people! This generation has been fantastic and there is much to enjoy from either console, or the PC (they all have the...
*Edit: Deleted double post.
Though I agree with the individual winners, I don't agree with the overall winner. I mean, BF3 took four out of the nine individual categories, yet MW3 is chosen as the "Shooter of the Year" after only winning two? Since multiplayer is the category I rate the highest, BF3 is the clear winner for me. Add in the best audio, graphics, maps and gameplay (gameplay should have been a category) and it's not even close. Sure BF3's campaign and coop could have been better, but th...
The author should have cut down the list to like five or something since many of his reasons are repeats or variations of the same reason. For example, #1 "games galore", #3 "amazing variety of games", #4 "Xbox games backwardly compatible", and #5 "arcade marketplace" games. Those could have all been easily consolidated into one reason: many games to chose from. #7 and #8 are also very similar: basically, it's more than a console and can play other ...
Sure hope this rumor is true. First, news that there is going to be a C&C Generals 2 and now this. If Company of Heroes 2 is also coming, that would be two sequels of my favorite RTS's of all time. Relic/THQ, please make it so!
Yep, love that mouse as well....just had a great feel to it. Wish Logitech still made it. I haven't had a chance to try out the successor, the G400. Looks about the same. Hope it's as good since the MX518 is harder to find these days.
@KrystofKage1, I'm with you. They gave MW3 a 9.5 while only giving BF3 a 7.5. Wow! Giving a tired retread a 9.5? That's just "opposite land" in my view. And, now, only giving B2K a 7? What a bunch of bozos!
@Laika, you're Exhibit A because a PC can be easily hooked up to a TV and played with a controller (the same setup as a console). Preferring a controller on the couch over a keyboard at a desk doesn't mean you have to be a console gamer. It is a lame excuse that console gamers come up with and shows their ignorance. Better to stay with "PC gaming is too complicated and I prefer pickup & play consoles" excuse. That, at least, has some truth to it.
Shortages are always expected for new, highly anticipated consumer products, especially with the high demand of the holiday season. However, I believe there are differences in why each will be in short supply. First, I believe Xbox One is further behind in the development process. There were reports/articles on how they were around 6 months behind schedule. Add in the fact that they did a "180" on their DRM/Used game policy and that likely put them a little farther behind schedule. ...
