Yup, perfect counterpoint to this article:

I wanted to mention Sony in that article and contrast, but I knew I'd be called a fanboy without any recent interviews to point to.

Yeah, I'm not super psyched about Deep Down for whatever reason, but I think it's completely idiotic the way 'feminists' and white knights have to make this into an issue, and despite whatever issues I have with Crapcom lately, I hope they don't cave in to any pressure.

You know what image of women is much more damaging to young girls and society than what does or doesn't appear in video games? The one where females are fragile, stupid little creatur...

Jak and Daxter was a fun coin collecting platformer with fantastic presentation, and then they just shattered my expectations with Jak 2 and 3 going off in a future GTA/combat/open worldish mix of complete super powered awesomeness. I'd love to see what Pixar-esque heights they could soar to if they kept moving in that same increasingly epic and varied direction on the PS4.

Naughty Gods are one of the few devs that I can just imagine them making a game I have no clue i...

I didn't. May have been shallow of me to pass up a game based on advertisements, but this whole thing gave me the feeling that Namco wasn't getting any closer to remembering what made the series great:

A bit silly, but every trailer I saw at the time revolved around that, and it completely annoyed the crap out of me and turned me off to the game.

Microsoft is the cancer.

I'm completely with jessupj. It's always baffled me how people who pay any attention can not despise MS for their corrosive selfish greedy nonsense going on forever. Just like a shining example of everything wrong with the game industry.

It's also frustrating when they say the whole 'sony and nintendo aren't perfect', and bring up some obscure isolated incident from the 1930's to back it up. It's MS's sustained assault on everything awes...

Not exactly related, but I have to say, despite myself I actually want a wii-u now, as a second console after I get a PS4. I was very outspokenly annoyed by wii-u's lack of power, and Nintendo's attempted repeat of the wii strategy for a long time, and I'm not even saying I've changed my mind about that. But regardless, Monolith Soft's X looks awesome as hell to me. Like a cool, beautiful, refreshing game. I want to play it, and I'd like to play all the basic Nintend...

I think they mean the wii-u. They seem to be making a bit of a comeback now, but for a while nobody cared about the wii-u at all. I'm glad for the surge of sales over mario kart, but there's no denying they're having problems. Iwata was apologizing to investors, and they were refunding Batman Arkham preorders, because they cancelled their DLC over low demand. I think the title is implying specifically the irrelevance that Nintendo was experiencing up until recently. And in al...

It's because the xbox one uses the power of the cloud to keep this graphically intensive game running at 900p.

Quality over quantity

4495d ago 32 agree7 disagreeView comment

Tekken 3 was my favorite fighter at the time, but I could care less about new Tekken games now. They completely have no standards for quality. Tried a few since then. One game the characters look decent, the next they look worse, but the backgrounds a little better. How the hell can you downgrade your engine in a sequel, seriously? Gameplay has slight random tweaks all over the place for no apparent reason with no sense of balance, and then the latest Tekken on ps3 was free to play, pay t...

"That's awesome get your fans excited, then let them down in a very big way"

That's XBox division's specialty. They've got even more disappointments already lined up. See: New SDK, Tiled Resources, Bridging the gap, etc

4495d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

You are the exception. There's an army of fanboys still believing the XBox is more powerful, just that devs haven't figured it out yet, or an SDK, or tiled resources, or voodoo magic, etc.

It's true. Microsoft already said the new SDK has a feature to warp reality and change the circuitry inside the XBox One, so it'll now be faster than the PS4. Very advanced stuff.

Half of the same XBox fans who say "Not this again!" are the ones who say "No no!! You wait until they all get back from magic school, they'll upgrade the hardware with an SDK update. The great pumpkin king will be here, you'll see!".

Obviously it hasn't been said enough times, or in the right way yet, so the world keeps trying. I know MS hasn't been a great teacher, but it's time to admit defeat on the graphics front. Evolution is t...

Yeah, but being part of EA comes with it's share of evil BS. Still reminded of this every time I hear about Plants vs Zombies. So typically EA:

"PopCap has laid off Plants vs. Zombies creator George Fan, the day after announcing a sequel to the game."

You definitely argue the point better than any Nintendo fan I've heard yet, so bubble vote for that.

But I still think they went too weak with the wii-u. They should have ditched the tablet and used that budget for a little extra power, easier to program, more pc-like architecture. I've read some dev accounts, and just looking at the specs, it's a nightmare. It's like every moment of dev-time for those titles has to be spent scrutinizing and budgeting every...

slightly off the main topic, but "consumers still routinely confuse the system with the old Wii"

I always thought this was a bit odd. I mean - Nintendo even put out a bulletin on WiiU reminding them it's a new console. I mean, certainly WiiU doesn't impress graphically, but how in the hell can you not know it's a new console, particularly if you had to connect it to a TV to start using it.

I seriously hope Nintendo doesn't pull a Se...
