yeah, you can keep halo1 and gears of war1, ten years after everyone stopped playing them. woohoo!
I'll try it out for PC eventually. Thank god this buzzword will get put to rest soon.
k. at least now I know what I'm going to be reading in every comment section after 'Titanfall' and 'DirectX12' die down.
difference was ps3 was difficult to program for and more powerful. in this gen, xbox is more difficult to program for (than ps4) and less powerful
Lazy development on the part of the XBox One hardware division. How many console gens have to pass with one console making a difficult to program mistake before everyone stops doing stupid crap. MS dropped the ball this time.
only xbox super fanboys, aka MS apologist/stockholders would disagree with this statement
I can't wait for this game to come out and some time to pass so I can stop hearing about it every 10 seconds
well at least you spelled dumb right
I guess that going by xbox fan pronouncements that ps4 has no games, ps4 is still outselling xbox 2 to 1 without system sellers, unless you count octodad and resogun, which admittedly look and play better than titanfall.
it turned into fanboy tears
I have this demo on my pc. It's just tessellation added. Thing is, when you enable tessellation, there's a framerate hit. Yes dx11 gave additional options, but they still required gpu power. So if you're like the xbox one, and already struggling running pacman above 796p then adding additional effects and techniques to the palette of things you're not capable of rendering at a decent framerate doesn't really help anything.
still looks like an ugly hl2 era game, but at least hl2 had some personality
Did I miss something? I can't go 10 minutes on this site without seeing something about Second Son
sigh. So many people say this nonsense. I don't even think the original speaker was trying to outright lie, but believing 32MB can be like 6GB shows such a profound ignorance of the way ram, graphics, compression, and memory addressing work it's unbelievable.
They could have access to 6GB IF that wasn't already taken up by everything else in the game, and xbox one's 18 operating systems. Aside from that it's not like having 6GB at a time, it's a sp...
this allows xbox one fanboys to stop saying 'Titanfall' for 10 minutes. This is supposed to be a much bigger boost than the last upgrade from 'the cloud' to 'Titanfall'
You can tell the fanboys, because they're all saying graphics don't matter, or that it might just be day/night cycles. They do matter. That looks worse than ps3 game. How can it not matter that you paid $400, bullshotted, and some people pre-ordered the game. Aside from that, it just looks crappy enough, it's noteworthy in and of itself.
this is xbox one's huge surprise coming to e3. jack tretton betrayed us all for the almighty dollar
I guess we're supposed to be impressed that they're compromising the pc visuals? It really isn't any less stupid when they dumb down pc graphics to have parity with ps4 than it is to dumb down ps4 visuals to match xbox one. At this point, there's only like 1 or 2 devs I actually expect to actually try on their pc ports, but goodness, don't brag about halfassing it

Seems to be a bit of confusion over what DirectX is. There's different hardware in every pc, and the xbox. Different graphics cards, cpu's etc. In the old days of pc gaming you used to have to select your graphics card, and game developers had to program for different graphics cards. DirectX just bridges the gap. With DirectX, the hardware developers of graphics cards make their cards accept directx commands and perform them as quickly as possible - and now game developers, inste...
