This looks so amazingly fantastic. They seem to be optimizing it more and more, but even this current version will be grain free in the next few years just by hardware getting faster. This with oculus would be a mind-blowingly realistic experience
I'm not sure the sky is falling just yet. I think Facebook doesn't have any short term plans that could benefit them by 'ruining' oculus rift, and I think by the time they start screwing it up, there will already be a VR status quo to contend with. Project Morpheus being a pure VR experience will also help keep Oculus in line as they compete for the coolest presentations over the next few years. Nothing stops this train. No serious console will exist next gen (if Steambox d...
I love it when people who have something to lose by blasting crappy companies and still do it. Lends credence to all of use lowly commenters who've been fighting off company fanboys in the trenches
@t-hall785 wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't possible on x1
@pinkie-pie since when have you ever cared what's physically possible?
here ya go:

I doubt xbox one can handle vr games that don't look like wii games. They've struggled to run every ugly duckling so far.
"there there" indeed
I guess it's because XBox One's been failing so hard compared to PS4 so far, the poster thought they needed to point out they weren't losing on purpose.
Microsoft PR department's word of the week is 'value'. Now I want all of you to get out there and use it as often as possible, in interviews, on twitter, wherever. Remember people, we've got a PR issue, with people seeing XBox as too expensive, with not enough bang for the buck, so we want to convey 'value'. Now get the message out there. If we haven't turned things around by next quarter, person who said 'value' the least times gets fired. Dismissed! ...
wouldn't it be cool if in God of War, you'd turn to stone if you made eye contact with medusa?
neat
you just make stuff up as you go along and other xbox one hopemongers automatically agree? Literally, the main reason for DirectX is you don't have to make sure it works with every piece of hardware
Nintendo would be so stupid not to run with this. And please for god's sake make it 2d gameplay.
"Update 2: Microsoft has confirmed that it will release DX 12 in Holiday 2015."
Nice, in almost 2 years XBox one will get a much needed fps boost.
Lighting and effects look great. Textures look like N64.
The lighting and effects look fantastic!, so it's unfortunate they're using n64 textures. I can't look at a single shot without being distracted by the horribad textures, even if I'm not looking for it.
@Abriael
Also, though I own neither console, I plan on ps4, so it isn't a fanboy thing. I also think Titanfall also suffers from the 10 year old texture quality. Second Son looks damn good though, and Ryse has great graphics, but ultra boring ar...
What he said. The cool thing about the huge ships is that the outer hull is ultra detailed like a star wars ship with panels and machines and turrets everywhere, but then so is your tiny ship, and you can land in the dock of this ship, and the dock takes a long time to walk across, and the dock is also high detail. There hasn't really been a game with this type of scale where there's no compromise detail at every level from small to huge.
Also the ships thrusters ...
Honestly, it's about time someone made a game for high end PCs, with no compromises for either consoles or older PCs.
There's a huge difference between a game that can run on a medium or low end machine, but can be upscaled to push your high end, and a game that has no settings low enough to run on anything but a high end.
There's just so much detail to every object with real poly geometry, and not just tessellation, with some of it animated as we...
Finally a modern PC game that really takes advantage of a modern PC.
Hopefully this puts to rest the ridiculous notion that ps4 or xbox one have reached parity with PC.
The consoles won't catch up this entire gen. This is made for a modern pc.
Edit: ha at the disagree already. The cpu or gpu EACH in a modern gaming machine costs anywhere from the price of a wii u on the low end to a more than an xbox one on the high end. They don't use magical chips in the console. I'd like comparing a honda civic to a formula one.
"This is very good news…..I did not buy an xbox one for Indies"
implying that having more indie games available for your console somehow prevents you from only buying games that push the console to it's limits
"I want games that push the console to its limits"
You should have probably picked the console that has the higher limits then
