Jump Ultimate Stars (and super stars) were VERY similar and EXTREMELY popular titles. Sadly it never made it here for a number of logical reasons, but it mimics and captures the same feelings I have for Super Smash Bros.
The irony is how "good" the boxart actually is. The goal is boxart is to get attention, which is what it got and all these articles serve to boost awareness of Bioshock Infinite. No one is going to skip it over the box art, so ultimately it's a smart tactic (intended or not).

I've personally played 32 Vita titles and am missing a good portion of the whole catalog. I would say there are roughly 60 titles in the US and several more if you include EU / Japan. Additionally none of the upcoming titles are currently set to release for $50, so you're talking about 2 - 7% of the TOTAL market, which makes this point sound really flimsy.
It's really not and their point is weak...
- There are 3 games at $50, which does nothing more than hurt the GAMES actual sale. If I was going to buy a Vita for CoD Black Ops Declassified, Uncharted or DJ Max, then that $10 dollars isn't going to be a deal breaker. Just like not buying today won't kill me.
- 3DS games cost $40 (average Vita game cost), but yet again we only hear about Sony doing wrong. If you want to make a valid point, don't justify ...
If you want to be exact, shes a DLC costume (preorder) and thus doesn't really count. (same reason you don't count Kat as a third female.)

This is easily one of the poorest things I've read on this site. From things like the "rumors" of their exclusives not being that good... it's not a rumor, since it's founded by logic and the simple fact that NOT every title Sony made was great and most of these people CAN justify their reasoning. Plenty of Sony titles were disliked across the board, be it Modnation, Karting, All 4 One, Killzon...

The simple fact is that many games have needless multiplayer and IN THEORY that effort could have been applied elsewhere. Was Dead Space 2's multiplayer worthless? I think so, others don't, but I doubt many would request that over another hour of campaign or perhaps an online hoard mode if they want to do MP so badly. Sony Treatment? More like New Console treatment. Most people have figured out (because it's not that hard) that using trivial data + new console = lots of post. Every console in the past had it and every console in the future will most likely have it. The only reason why it seems like "Sony" is that N4G is a predominately Sony based site, so the anti Sony ones get more defense, more hits and in turn are more common. With this being said, I put most of the blame on the reader tho...
Does it really matter?
Most games get figured out pretty quickly (how long was The Bee a secret in Borderlands 2? 1 - 3 days max...), though none of this really affects anyones enjoyment. It's not like the Zombi U is a worse game because some people beat it without dying and this will probably be a feat most gamers never accomplish even if they love the game.
What a stupid article... Of course it's not that dominate, I mean ANYTHING thats new isn't as fully utilized till later on. Most developers aren't use to it, most gamers aren't use to it, why toss would it make sense to make it extremely important? Tekken Tag 2 and Ninja Gaiden 3 both let me play the full game from it and thats more than enough for me.

All of this stuff is "important" till you start seeing games you want. I mean the Vita is a LOT better than the 3DS, yet no one is buying. Despite the difference being only 80 (less if you go XL) dollars and plenty of awesome games, the system doesn't sell because there isn't many games people deem "play worthy". While a lot of people come in with these insane requests, does anyone remember that the gamepad is ALSO included? To me I always felt like that was where a good % of the costs went. I mean, did you REALLY expect a device on par with the PS4 / next Xbox with the gamepad all for 300 dollars? To me that just seems insane. Nah, the issue is the fact that awareness was rather low and there wasn't much up selling. You say that, but they also gave the title to Nihilistic Software and there is the rumor of them giving them only a few months to complete it. Both of these things imply they don't care that much or assume the name alone will sell.

Take a vague idea. (Vita sucks)
Grab trivial market data. (Low sales)
Frame it improperly. (No one wants it)
and you have a very easy to justify article, since all the "facts" are on your side.
