Wow, get your facts straight... if there is a bias against this game, it's the fact that Nihilistic Software developed it.
@ MikeMyers
A lot of this has to do with "creditability" over "being the best" or thats how I see it anyway.
Like I had someone tell me game A was awful, where as game B was fantastic.
Now I personally platinumed both of the games he was talking about, where as he platinumed 1, but only beat 1 stage of the other. Now we know for a fact they didn't like the game, though would you consider them very knowledgeable?
Let's ignore that Eurogamer is one of the most complained about outlets on this site and blame the US alone.
It's you. While it is happening, this is what happened whenever anything new comes out. I explained it in detail elsewhere (too lazy to type it all), but the gist is the following.
Why it sucks > Why it will fail > Launch line up is poor > Poor sales = Doom > Lack of quality titles > Why it's better than whatever else is new / coming out > Why we need a new system.
This usually happens because of 2 things.
1) People...
Simply put. IGN rated a number of popular games lower than this and now the butthurt people think it's a slap in the face that someone enjoyed this.
Wow, this is quite honestly one of the dumbest comments I've read on this site. I mean by the same logic great / popular games would deserve lower scores because of communities.
CoD / Halo / etc are plagued with little kids, trolls, those only looking for kills to keep a good K:D ratio and the like.
Borderlands 2 is filled with entitled gamers that think they deserve every legendary weapon handed to them because they have a life (lets ignore farming is a huge pa...
While you're entitled to your opinion, who actually had fun with the MNR AI?
Sadly I think you're running off one of the biggest fallacies people have with game reviews. That is to say, people generalize the site as reviewing A and B, but usually overlook who wrote the reviews.
I hardly think it matters if John C says inFamous is an awful open world game with virtually no story and weak combat, then Jimmy Q says Prototype has everything you love in the genre. They both might write for the same site, which means people will just generalize it as &q...
This is true for some things, but I also believe this to be an excuse too. Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City got poor review scores across the board, still sold pretty well all things considered. Orgarhythm scored pretty good scores across the board, Yourgamercard lists only 200 people that played it, which also includes the Japanese version of the game and for a game that got so many high scores... only 13 people are listed as getting all the complete trophies and of this only 6 have the ...
@ Neo Nugget
A lot of it has to do with what Guitarded77 said. Yes Sony didn't have to, but now that it's part of the game... why can't we criticize it? You could honestly apply that logic to anything and ultimately give every game a 10/10 in the end. Additionally, too many people let things slide over "patchable" issues. Just because something can be fixed, doesn't mean it will ever happen either, which can be seen with plenty of games that never fi...
It's actually not that simple. While I haven't played Halo 4 (so I obviously can't comment on that), it's really a 2 way street.
On one hand we have Skyrim (or anything by Beth), which runs quite poorly on the PS3. This means the game should have scored far lower from anyone using a PS3, though the game recieved universal praise like Fallout 3 and New Vegas (both of which worked poorly on the PS3). This game was saved 100% by gameplay / story, up to the point...
It's most likely because of issues that the reviewer may or may not overlook.
There is no story.
Figuring out what materials you need can be a hassle.
Not a ton of weapons / costumes.
Several extra missions are virtually impossible on your own without insane gear.
No real story.
Limited enemy / bosses / area variety.
Enemies seem to lock onto you, making some attacks more hassle than they need to be.
Online discount...
Won't happen. Companies gain too much by having trophies remain free.
We talk about the games more.
People play longer, so you see ____ person on that game longer.
It motivates people to play online / with others.
DLC has more "value", since some people gotta get 100%.
etc.
Wouldn't make sense for anyone to charge for it.
I honestly don't see whats to debate here. With the exception of the PS3 (which was at the time the cheapest / one of the cheapest bluray players), you would be a complete moron to buy a system just in hopes down the road good games would come. I mean, look at the 3DS. Pokemon is certainly a system seller, but it's already got a huge price drop without a new Pokemon releasing for the 3DS. Realistically, I would feel stupid if I didn't wait for the game I wanted to come out. Hence ...
The funny thing is that the series used to be defined by the story... how times have changed.
Well it won't get removed from the store, so I would wait unless you can get to it in a week or two. I mean, the game can only get cheaper over time.
This is your typical buzz topic, which are really the worst part of our community. Usually they come in patterns and they're fairly annoying in all aspects.
They start with the first announcement, where people ascribe problems of the past to whatever is said when it's first announced. Nintendo started with a gimmick, so people said it's another gimmicky console. No matter what was said, someone would find a way to spin it in that direction.
After ...
This is honestly marketing 101 stuff here. It stands to reason that Hardcore gamers know what the Wii U can do and know what the Wii U has. With this in mind, they make ads that appeal to parents who might buy it for their kids during the holidays. Furthermore, most of the core titles include things that have already been released, so they gain very little by trying to remind us "hey, new Batman / Assassins Creed / Mass Effect experience here".
After the holidays e...
If you go off the already announced Japanese program, they gave several PSP games and Sumioni. Since the Vita can run PS1, PSP and PSV games (also mini;s, but they hardly count), we could easily see these coming back (as PS1 games were common back in the day with plus) and forming the "instant" game collection. I mean, too many people are taking the Vita version as literally 12 or whatever Vita games. Finally, lets not forget that we could see limits or loser titles. For instance, y...
It should stay as is, since it makes the most sense.
Vita is portable, so I rather have a digital copy for free than hard (lets assume you can't sell it / give the hard copy to a friend for sake of argument).
PS3 works both ways, so you have the choice of hard or digital.
DL games can be downloaded by anyone with a vita. So many places have free wifi that you can easily just walk to a place to download your game.
The PS3 version costs more, so peo...
