As I've mentioned above, Ford really put the whole thing best “If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.”. A great example of this would be Demon Souls, since I doubt people would have every thought / suggested they include a way to invade other peoples games and would have instead asked for a simple PVP space or something to that effect. Yet FS did their own thing and it went on to be an amazingly popular and infamous feature of the series.

Honestly speaking, companies really shouldn't listen to what fans want. I think Ford put it best with his famous “If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.” quote. People don't know what they really want and a lot of fans have terrible ideas, which in some cases have made games worse. Obviously they should take some consideration in what people want, like maybe bringing back a popular series (like Pikmin or giving Luigi another shot), but beyond that...

People complain about everything... that is just sort of how the world is. Though like everything else, too many people forget that different opinions exist. I kid you not, some people like to quickly get all the DLC, where as others don't, hence why both sides have complaints.

Anyway, I think it's a bit different when Sony was more than happy to offer the Season Pass BEFORE it even released, yet Naughty Dog seems to have no ****ing idea what some people bought. It r...

I wouldn't say it's a paradox, just most companies handle it the wrong way.

Probably the best example of it done right is Muramasa Rebirth.

You see, in January it was announced the game would get four DLC characters and we got a sample image of what they would look like and a note saying they will have their own stories. This was 3 months before the game released in Japan, so it was a fair amount of heads up. Around the games release we learned how th...

@ Supraking951

I am getting real sick of people acting like everyone is a hypocrite because opposite opinions exist.

Some people like instant gratification, others rather wait and savor the game and then the first pack and then the second pack and so forth.
Some people want campaign content, where as others (most likely) would love to see the multiplayer expanded upon.
Just like there were people that supported the Xbox One DRM (if you preor...

I don't see how you can consider Kid Icarus one, since that series has 3 games and a gap of roughly 19 years between the 2nd and 3rd game. By the same token you would have to consider Punch Out, Mother, Star Fox, Yoshi's Island, Mario Party and to a lesser degree the Mario Sports games too.

It's all random with no real rhyme or reason.

Prior to Modern Combat, Call of Duty was a story driven series that was only moderately successful. Now a days it's the top selling game, which seems to happen like magic.

Some games get little to no sales, yet still somehow magically get a sequel. A great example of this would be No More Heroes, which even got a HD port too.

In the end, sometimes the right combo of things happens and a...

The funny thing is that makes it more likely / logical to become a plus game. Battlefield 3 got pretty much all the sales it's ever going to get already, especially with the Ultimate Edition being released, so it's pretty much "worthless". Makes sense to give it away, so more people can be hyped for Battlefield 4, than deny Sony.

Assuming this is true, how in the world does asking / begging / making Sony add more ram make up for anything? Especially since there were a lot of wrongs...

List of things Gearbox has done wrong recently...

- Touted Duke Nukem Forever Collectors Edition as something that would actually be rare. This was accomplished by mentioning it would be numbered and having an image with the words "of 2,000". A lot of people read into this and bought because o...

"it has nothing to do with sony fans. "

That is highly debatable, since N4G is a predominantly pro Sony site. Why is this important you ask? Well writing an article attacking the Xbox's DRM was very easy degrees on N4G, which in turn means you probably got a lot of reads. This also caused a lot of people to see the articles, but come the end of the day, you're right.

While you might write off this reason, there are / were some people that s...

Exactly.

If people weren't aware of why they should do something, then no one would have done it.

Sadly, you're over simplifying things.

Despite it being "literally... half figured out", I would say it's more like 20% or less figured out. This is largely because of how fighting games work, since balance is the key to having a good fighting game. Even if All-Stars isn't a SF or BB tier fighting game, they're still going to need to balance him out, which is where most of your time if going to go.

Contrary to the belief that Sony ...

How in the world did feminist nonsense not make the list? Half the time it's the same argument, said the same way, with the same bias outlook, that leads to nothing but arguments. The other half of the time it's someone going out of their way to make a point no one cares about. A great example of this would be the bros before hoes trophy, which ultimately was nothing more than a silly name to go with the situation.

Seriously, it really needs to end or the people comp...

Anyone else think the reason was a little comical?

" However, due to slightly subpar sales, Sony Santa Monica didn’t bother to finish him as they didn’t think he would sell well. Isaac Clarke and Zeus, the two previous DLC characters, didn’t sell well because they are characters that no one was expecting or asking for. "

If that is the reason, what did Sony expect when the first batch were free for two weeks (remember, you can "buy" somet...

While it sucks he got cancelled, I am happy he at least made it past the planning stages. It's one thing to overlook him completely and another to at least attempt to put him in.

See, you get the idea, but you miss the point. That is also sort of the problem with All-Stars too.

You see, the concept is great, but a lot of "not so PlayStation" things found their way into this game. BioShock was originally an Xbox exclusive with the PlayStation version releasing a year later, yet Big Daddy made it in. Dead Space isn't really a PlayStation associated series, so seeing Isaac is a little confusing too. A similar case can be made for Donte, si...

A lot of games have awful stories, endings and situations that never get any sort of attention. One of my favorites was NeverDead, since that story was so basic you could see the ending after 20 minutes. Thats not to say people wouldn't try it, but historically these things only become big if the thing is that shocking or the developer is that big.

What kind of stupid question is that?

Video Games are no different than any other story and can have whatever ending the writer wants. With that being said, games probably "are" meant to have happy endings. Considering your objective is to actually accomplish whatever you're doing in the game, it can sometimes seem bothersome if you still fail come the end.

Take Killzone 2 for instance. You get to the end, capture t...

Considering the PSN supports game sharing by simply giving your account info to another person, your point is moot.

Huge difference between this and that platinum, since it was obviously worthwhile.
