To be fair, you're contradicting yourself. If you're talking about critical reception, then why in the world would GTA V being like IV (the highest rated game on Metacritic with a 98...) prevent it from doing so? Considering most people disagree with the critics anyway, it's not like being the most critically approved title means anything. Like you seem to imply above, GTA IV was "bad", yet it is still the most critically accepted game around....

But this isn't TV and a lot of stories end with something like that. The idea is that you get to decide what happens after and you're ultimately allowed to have whatever ending you want. While I do personally like just flat out knowing what happened, there are others that rather make up their own ending based off the events of the story. Going off a lot of what you've said, anything can happen, so just make up whatever ending you "want" the most.

As far...

Depends on how you look at it, but your second point is moot. Back when the Saturn was around, gaming was still pretty young (it released around the same time as the original PlayStation). Needless to say, there wasn't as much popularity, money or interest back then to really make that applicable.

While it's sad to say, go read some gaming forums and you would see people have done some crazy / weird things and were successful in things.

Changing your PS3's time allowed some people to view some content intended for the next week early. (couldn't buy and might be patched or there isn't anything uploaded that early anymore)
Super jumps / other things in games. I recall people telling me crouched walking into a certain piece of glass would yield a ...

It's not common, but sometimes they have small bonuses. Like the phone number shown on How I Met Your Mother during the superbowl episode went to a prerecorded message by Barney. Can't think of one in gaming sadly, but I am not one to bother with that anyway.

At first glance you might be right, but you got to look into things more deeply than that.

For instance, one of the biggest problems with the move was the low adoption rate. No one wanted it and no one supported it (in the grand scheme no one did, I know there are games / exclusives). By building it into the controller, Sony can effectively stop making Move wands (saving money) and will have larger numbers incase other developers want to implement move features.

They do care, since you can't run a successful business just thinking of yourself. Some people like these headsets and there has been a number of Xbox exclusive (same with PS, so they're not special) headsets because there is a market for it. If anything, the lack of that ability might sway some people, which M$ can't really afford with the higher price to begin with.

Unlikely, since it would only wor...

It's fun because you don't really have to rush to do anything. If this were say Pokemon (since you mentioned it), there would always be new Pokemon to fight, people to level, championships to win and even then you can spend endless hours searching a small patch of land for a shiny whatever.

Animal Crossing is a bit different, since there really isn't a need to catch every fish or even fish in general. You can spend hours working on making your place perfect or jus...

@ Utalkin2me

You missed my point. While you're right, it's still wrong to jump the gun and assume you know it all, since a demo is not the same thing as the final game.

As far as your second post, depends on how different you're willing to accept.

The demo for Asura's Wrath was pretty much just a QTE, but the final game has parts where you run around / fight little peons.
The demo for Dead Space 3 was a lot more intens...

Sadly, this is fairly common practice.

I know of some sites (not naming names...) that will do full reviews off of 30 - 40 minutes of gameplay. This was actually pretty comical when Soul Sacrifice released, since the reviewer I knew who did that game did roughly the same amount of things you could find in the demo.

Sure it sucks, but it's not that hard to tell an idiot from someone that actually played a lot of the game.

Criticizing a demo is the same as not playing it in the first place.

Over the years we've seen countless demos, which could imply one thing, but the reality could be another.

The original Parappa the Rappa demo was the Master Onion stage, which was pretty awesome, but also close to 20% of the actual game.
Alien CM had a really well done and fairly cinematic demo, where as the reality was a lot bleaker.
etc.

A lot of demo...

Honestly speaking, the difference in your two models is so vast, that it really begs the question of how many wouldn't just pay the extra $25 for the better version. $50 dollars isn't a ton of money and 1 year of plus across 3 platforms is bound to give you something that makes up for your investment.

4763d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Yup, though I don't see why this game needs a review. It's free and has trophies, so even if you hate the game. Well, you still have some trophies to unlock.

Why? It's yellow journalism at its finest.

Some site looks at what we're losing, come a silly post they may or may not believe in based off theories or assumptions based off these theories and readers / N4G gets angry causing them to get a lot of views.

Considering people pointing out how similar they looked since the first trailer and how the names are fairly similar, it's not that shocking. While it might be flattering in this setting, if I was someone of note I wouldn't let just anyone do whatever with my likeness.

Also lets be fair here, it also comes off as fairly lazy.

Lets be fair here, you're comparing apples to oranges here.

When the PlayStation 3 first released, it was sporting a Bluray player, which at its time put it as one of the CHEAPEST solutions to play Bluray movies. Even now a days a Bluray player with media apps will run you $100, where as you can get a simple DVD player for $34 (going off the cheapest on BB).

It's a lot different when the more powerful (spec wise) system is cheaper than the weak spec s...

Nah, this is more of a fanboy article and nothing more.

We don't know how much Sony is making or losing, just like we don't know how much M$ is making or losing. As others have pointed out (article included), the Xbox One comes with the Kinect, which retailed for $100 this generation. This could very easily explain the $100 dollar difference, since the PlayStation Eye (not included with the PS4) is $60, which means M$ would be making around $40 dollars per console (g...

So? Why change what works? Clearly people in the West like the games as is, so why bother catering to a group that is already showing support to him?
