"everyone switched from netflix discs to streaming, should that not tell you something? "

Ignoring the fact that everyone did not switch (or they wouldn't offer discs anymore), that is a completely different situation.

Streaming is a service of instant gratification and required no work or effect on the consumers part. I doubt you would find ANYONE in the world that would choose to wait several days for a disc and then return it, wait for them ...

To be fair, I think hypocrisy is being thrown around, much like people throw around misogynist in a feminist topic.

For someone to be a hypocrite, you have to first do something hypocritical. This is just common sense. Now the important thing here is that only the people attacking the Xbox and praise these games are in fact hypocrites. Like don't forget that there WERE people that were okay with the "always on" because it "didn't affect them" and ...

I'll send you a private message, since it's a touchy subject. I'll also send the same or at least a similar message to anyone else that is interested.

Again, the PS3 / PSP / PSV and most likely PS4 are region free, so you can just go buy them and play them. Nothing needs to be done, just put the disc in your try and play. Also like I said, you can also download these things on any of those devices, but you need to switch accounts / obtain money is that currency. So I am not seeing the problem... Sure it might be a hassle, but it's not like anyone is stopping you from getting the enjoyment you want, past yourself.

I see, so you found some treasure, yet wrote it off and still thought it was sub-par to similar games, because?

No matter how you look at it, part of this games charm is all the secrets / hidden things. The Simpsons and TMNT might look and play better than D&D, but they're the same game every time you play it. At least with D&D you have alternate paths, various weapons, secrets to find and much more. In order to get my 100% I had to play through the second game l...

Off topic...

Wow, I've been having too many Xbox One discussions. My Xbox remark was obviously meant to be Xmen. Sorry! Wish I could edit, but this site blocks you out at the 15 mark which I am sadly exactly at.

On topic...

Then you didn't pay attention AT ALL. One of the most obvious secrets were the three "hidden" rooms when you fall down the pit to floor 90 or 100. There is a room at 30 or so, which contains the aforemen...

They do...

There is a section of the store for PSN imports, though there isn't much. Even with the ability to add straight up Japanese games, you still need to get the rights to do so, which will limit some things from coming over.

If this isn't what you meant, the PS3 is region free and able to download said games and play them on your system of choice. Even a Vita / PSP can do it if you change the accounts, so you're not missing anything unless...

No.

Well they added the Japanese section to the store a while back and MonkeyPawGames has been doing a great job marketing / bringing games over.

While people are allowed to have their own opinion, I have to ask how much did this reviewer actually play? At first glance these are fairly bland games, but there is a LOT more than meets the eye. One example is the choices they mention, but these choices DO offer you different places and locations to explore. Sure you end up going through the full adventure, but they're meant to be choices like you would see in the actual D&D game. Like you continue to the boss and run into an elf, ...

Not really...

E3 is typically met with a flood of news / impressions and opinion pieces, which can lead to things being buried. If we had the Nintendo Direct reveals with the Xbox One and PS4 reveal during E3 week, then you can expect that a lot of information / news is going to get buried under all the super awesome revealed stuff. Instead of actively fighting for the top spot during that week, each group just did their own thing so they could secure ample coverage / attenti...

You got to think about these things beyond the simple scope of sales or matching Sony, since other things DO come into play.

Like they might "lose a few hundred million in the first year", but that's not all they lose. Nothing says the price drop will instantly make people flock to the Xbox One, it just means that it will put the PS4 and it on equal footing. However, doing that and VASTLY changing their business model will lower investor confidence and will res...

People like you seem to forget that the Xbox is a bundled console, so while it might not be as powerful as the PS4, it still costs more money. To put it another way, it will cost me $460 + Tax to get the PlayStation Eye and PS4, so that is where the price difference comes from. M$ might be able to drop policies people dislike, but I doubt they would be willing to take that hit. Remember, just to match the PS4 the XB1 needs to take a 20% discount, which I just can't see happening.

Why does it matter? People had 3 weeks to get it, the blog / several sites reported it was leaving, the store directly shows you which titles are expiring and everyone who grabbed it during its time for free can redownload it during their sub or during a new sub. The only aspect that might matter, is the trial for E3 not overlapping with it. Though even then, there are plenty of other awesome games for free at the moment, like Vanquish!

I never got that argument.

PG came out with 3 games since Bayonetta and without Nintendo it wouldn't have existed. This is a straight up fact (as it was stated by PG), so it either stays dead or "dies" on the Wii U. Nintendo has faith in the title and it's not like PG is known for memorable (or even okay...) stories, so it's not like newcomers are going to be missing out on anything.

While From Software is probably doing something expected like Dark Souls II (which is confirmed, just not for next gen) or Dark Souls III (games start off LONG before they're ever announced), don't forget that From Software does niche / less popular titles too. This could just as easily be a Gundam game (which are popular in Japan) or another Armored Core.

Developers and publishers go where the money is. The Xbox One could be completely pro developer / publisher and they can make tons of exclusives, but if consumers want to support the consumer friendly (or at least friendlier) PS4, then publishers / developers will follow suit.

A LOT of people seem to forget that we have more power for them. If you don't support a practice, then don't buy their games. Your words might mean nothing, but the action will force them to st...

@ WishingW3L

It has nothing to do with taste and everything to do with cultural differences.

See, this is the problem with just reading headlines. The person pretty much said it's a "whatever floats your boat" situation, which really could extend to the Wii U and still have the same overall message. Also while the PS4 might have more actual power, it still requires developers to harness it for it to really "have" an advantage over the other. If they want to scale back 1 version to match the other, then whichever one is more powerful is moot.

Their problem is going to be the same as the Nintendo Wii U. The price is inflated by something extra (like the Kinect, which might make up the full $100 dollar difference, just like the Gamepad adds to the Wii U's price), which will make budgeting it a lot more difficult. It will be interesting to see it happen, though I really don't know if M$ will want to take that kind of hit, especially when there is no guarantee the seemingly more consumer PS4 has more than enough good buzz.
