The problem is how that would prompt people to play awful games just for trophies. People already play Terminator Salvation just to platinum it (because it's quick / easy), but if you make the platinum worth $3.25 (It's 11 golds and a platinum), then people are going to folk to it and other easy to score games. We would also probably see people on duplicate accounts trying to cash in on easy to platinum games.

"It's plain and simple and easy to compare to your friends' scores instantly."

What do you call your PSN level? If I am level 31 and you're under 31, then I am higher up than you. It's really that simple.

"a bunch of bronze trophies can end up bringing more than one platinum. The trophy system sucks and it seems people don't take as much pride. The trophies seem more pointless."

To be fair, trophies have assigned point values and every person has a sum total that makes up their overall level.

I don't think the auction site is going to be a bigger thing, because they already introduced and handled the idea poorly.

It started as a cool concept, I mean, trading trophies for items? Who wouldn't enjoy that? The reality was a system that is only really accessible to the top 15 players in the United States, with most of the starting bids locking out lower tier players from even having the chance to claim anything. The first item alone was at 400+ 30 minutes into...

"The point of this blog is, to show people that calling people fanboys and saying they have no proof automatically by twisting what they say."

"Just to clarify, I'm a PlayStation and Nintendo fan. "

No one is twisting anything you say, they're going off information you're directly feeding them. If you expected people to actually read your blog post, post that they didn't think you have an emotional bias and then praise ever...

I read about half of this and it honestly feels like you wrote a half ***ed article, didn't like the negative comments and in turn decided to make it seem like you were doing some elaborate thing. True or not, you don't need to make a "fake post" just to prove a point you could do without applying any effort.

Anyway, i stopped reading because I feel like a lot of your points are based more off what you think / feel and lack a lot of research. Like you can pr...

Because CoD is popular and you're more likely to run into an "awful" person than a smaller game that is less popular (even smaller like Uncharted or Halo). A good example would be the number of squeaky kids spouting out hateful nonsense on military shooters, which you just don't see as often on other games.

Don't forget that it's the App of the Week, so ABSW is free to all on iOS atm.

Sorry, but your logic is *** backwards. People complain largely to get the word out there. I didn't know Angry Birds Star Wars was coming to consoles, since I don't care about Angry Birds. So now that I know they're trying to cash in on gamers again, I got another reason to protest this game / activision and it's another reminder to companies that console ports of iOS gamers aren't worth a xxx% mark up. At least in this case getting the information around will get people a...

"Thats right around what I was saying, in the middle of 200-300 trophies. "

You do realize that sum is only possible if you earn nothing but gold trophies, right? Since that is pretty much impossible and assuming there isn't another game like Terminator Salvation, it would take a bunch of perfectly selected titles to even accomplish. Hence my "100 tops" remark.

"I personally have 106 at level 16"

Despite bein...

The average user has 100 tops. Most games only have 2 - 3 gold trophies, so you're calling average something like "people who beat around 100+ games". I can also tell you that I only have 439 myself and that puts my at level 31 (#311 in the US according to one site).

To put it another way, according to trophy calculators it's 24,000 points to level 13 (which is about roughly average now a days) and golds are worth 90 points, so that level could be earned wi...

I was telling my friend that the concept would work if the auction offered smaller things like avatars / themes. This would give the people with small amounts (like 20) a chance at a prize and give people with a lot of trophies more than enough chances to get something fun. I don't even think they would need to check trophies (even if we had simple T-Shirts), since the main thing that makes this contest annoying is the fact that so few people can even enter and among them only a handful c...

I expected this to happen, but the real downside is how this will affect the future. This "Bid for Greatness" idea started with an amazing concept. Add tangible value to my previously "worthless" trophies, but it became a PR nightmare. Not only was the auction site made known to thousands if not millions of gamers (it was on the official blog anyway), it pretty much started with one of the most absurdly high walls out there. I am almost level 32 myself and despite being cl...

@ Mr_Nuts

You could hypothetically argue a lot of things, like if the PS3 version of Bayonetta was done better we would have saw better sales / a second game, but the fact remains Nintendo saved it. There is no looking at the other side, because according to PG it was that or nothing. It doesn't matter why Nintendo did it or how good or bad it could be, since the black / white only absolute thing is that you're basically saying you rather have nothing over something. ...

Lets not forget that these games aren't changing till NOVEMBER, which is 4 months from now and the SAME could have been said of Gravity Daze when it was added. Logically Sony should have went with Resistance Burning Skies (as that game released a week after GD and was not selling), but Sony instead choose to go with Gravity Daze.

Anyway, Gravity Daze released in June versus Soul Sacrifice in April, so GD was newer than SS and still selling befo...

I suspect Soul Sacrifice will be the other one. Would without a doubt remind current owners that the Vita is more than ports / remakes and side games for popular series and ideally move some product for Xmas.

I mentioned the trolling bit because I don't mention I don't know what the term means, just that I don't know what aspect is gimped. The first time I say I have no clue what aspect is gimped and the second time I reaffirm that I don't know what aspect is gimped and therefor can't debate it. I understand that SOME ASPECT of the PSN is apparently inferior to XBL, but without them clarifying what they mean, I am merely going off what I believe it means and I personally see th...

If you REALLY want to play this game, NeverEnding's reply uses the PSN being gimped as proof of Sony having "no clue that online gaming would actually become the norm." My reply starts off by dismissing the gimped claim and purports that including wifi suggests that Sony saw this coming and that's why they included it.

"-"(which I even mentioned I have no clue what that even means, so I fail to understand how you thought I could debate a point I a...

@ Coolbeans

My remark was in reference to "online gaming would actually become the norm", which is why I brought up wifi. If Sony didn't think online would actually become the norm, why would they make it more accessible than the aforementioned Xbox 360 at the time? I only mentioned the gimped aspect (which I even mentioned I have no clue what that even means, so I fail to understand how you thought I could debate a point I admittedly don't grasp / believe i...

First things first, never start an article telling people that you're bias. The second people see you're bias, then your "poorly worded" statements instantly become bias nonsense that no one cares about.

With that being said, no one counts Nintendo in the race because they're pretty much doing their own thing. To this day the Wii U's online system is not up to par with what we had on the original Xbox in the early days of Xbox Live and a lot of mult...
