While this is great, at least when you look at things from the long term, it's hard to comment on how well the short term will be or how well this stuff will be implemented. This is the same sort of problem we saw with The Division. We heard a lot about the incursion, expected a lot from the incursion, yet the incursion was basically a hoard mode.
So, it could take months for us to see three or more maps and who's to say the additional maps will be big additions. I...
"even if they state reasons which do make some sense from their point of view. "
Even if we assume there is such overwhelming demand for temporary review scores, I honestly read the whole article as something of a contradiction and illogical.
Those who want scores are usually going to be those who DON'T want to read the review. They just want a simple statement that explains the games value. This is important, since, if the review is writte...
See, I think so much of this is rooted in people not "getting" the complaints/logic.
Let me make this simple. When people say AAA, they really just mean "quality" games. However, saying you want higher quality games is a really vague request. So, instead of saying they want better/higher quality games, a lot of people say they want AAA/retail games, since they tend to be quality titles.
This is why, despite some people campaigning like...
" Looks they're keeping Watch Dogs for June."
Negativity aside, I think its far more likely that was a hoax. First and foremost, both games were published by Ubisoft, which makes it unlikely to begin with. From there, you have a highly anticipated AAA title paired with the umpteenth revision/release of a classic game, which scored terribly low. While a lot of people didn't think Watch Dogs lived up to the hype, it's hard to deny that its a AAA title an...
@ garrettbobbyferguson
Honestly, most people seem to see a score of 70 as "average," with things below 50 being considered somewhat broken. Its a terrible system, mostly because it's really a five point scale. Anything below a 70 is pretty much considered terrible, with the numbers above 70 denoting how good the game is.
@ WonderfulMonkeyMan
1) 4/5 is 80. So this would be closer to 3.5
2) Even Metacritic views ga...
"Yeah, you point out a good possible issue with it, but the fact that the option for "point redemption" exists on the site points towards codes being available in some form in the near future,"
Code actually already exist. You got a code for 200 points if you had a Club Nintendo account. What other things they'll do is beyond me, but they exist.
"My thought is that many missions, however, will only reward Platinum coins, while th...
"Well, we have reports that the "missions" that MyNintendo uses to earn coins through Miitomo, are also going to spread into NX games.
So there's a very high likelihood that playing NX games will earn you coins by the bushel."
But this can also be a terrible thing for the program. A good example is how things progressed with Club Nintendo. At launch things were pretty cheap, with decent quality.
Like the original tot...
"Dark Souls is awesome because it allows a person to learn from his/her mistakes."
One thing I've always found amusing about the Souls series is how often people say it does this and that, when it really does something else. Like its never been a hard series, just a very specific series built around trial and error. You don't need an absurd amount of skill, mastery of all the mechanics or even a deep understanding of the game to beat it, you just need to con...
" For all the complainers with loud voices online, there are just as many sitting quietly at home enjoying the games that are being released to the service. Even if it were AAA games being released (they'll get there eventually), people would still complain they don't have an interest in the ones on offer or that they already have it."
I love how people automatically assume that everyone is always going to complain. While its true that there were complainers...
"Did this guy even beat the bloody game let alone reach lv30? Its end game stuff. "
One thing I find interesting is if I speak ill of say The Division or Destiny, people assume I have zero experience with either. Is something magical suppose to happen when you hit 30, get the platinum, obtain all HE gear or something else, since I did all those things, yet people assume I know absolutely nothing.
"Do you stay in the shallow pool of hard mode an...
While I get your point, they're a little different.
The biggest issue I can see is people being afraid of developers building their games around the better hardware and people with the old hardware suffering. I saw a couple of people already state this, with a few noting that developers can do things to prevent this potential problem. While thats certainly possible, I look at things like the New 3DS and old 3DS and see this problem in full force. Some games, such as Mons...
The idea deals with the problem with innovation. Its easy to come up with new ideas, even easier to come up with fixes when you don't need to apply them, but its generally extremely difficult to make them work.
One of the issues I've always had with the rogue system is that it will always sort of boil down to jerks being jerks, instead of genuine rewards or incentive to do so. Heck, even when I've died with a HE that got looted, it was rarely something worth carin...
"We we're paying for only games on PS3"
Since Nov. 2012 we've been getting Vita games and this took place six months after the IGC was introduced. There were many months when the PS3 and Vita would get wonderful titles. Heck, even when the PS4 was just starting out we had months where we would get Crysis 3 and Dragon's Crown (on both consoles despite not being a cross-buy title).
The real issue is that Sony seems to believe that people w...
I feel like the author doesn't actually understand the complaints, which is an issue, especially in an article like this.
Look, a big part of the issue people have is that PlayStation Plus has been offering lower quality games than before. April 2015 gave us Dishonored and Killzone Mercenary, April 2014 had Velocity Ultra and Batman: Arkham City and April 2013 introduced Demon's Souls, and Malicious, where as April 2016, well, you spend much of the article discussing ...
"Not at all Sony would be doing the industry a favor by letting it progress. In fact they should be releasing a updated console every 2-3 years. This would allow people wanting better performance to upgrade. Why should everyone be forced to 1080p 25fps when they dont need to be. You have the resources then upgrade. "
The issue is things like the 3DS versus the New 3DS. I remember buying one and testing Monster Hunter 4 on it. I tried the New 3DS and it worked like I...
"how this is a bad service and I can comment on whether it is worth my money "
Appears I didn't edit this correctly. Its suppose to say paid service.
1) I like how you assume that you know where the persons complaint is coming from. For all you know they don't own a Vita, PS3 or both, which VASTLY cuts down your list. I believe it would drop to 12.
2) Olli Olli was only offered in Japan I believe and Tearaway was never offered.
3) Resogun, Outlast, BioShock Infinite, Gravity Rush, Hotline Miami, LBP 2 and Grid 2 were offered over two years ago. If we exclude March 2014, you can also remove Unit 13 and Tomb Raider.
"My personal opinion is that ps+ has dropped in the quality of its games. I feel that after two years, you could give a bigger title away alongside some indies. "
Agreed and it kills me Japan has given things like Killzone away.
"But it's a shame really because this comment section will always end up in a console flame war rather than talking practice and valid points. "
The real issue, for me anyway, is how some peop...
"Remember Ps Plus started this and GWG copied."
And? Regardless of who started what and really regardless of what GWG is doing, the offers have gone down hill. Things like Reality Fighters are not something Sony would've offered two or three years ago, which is proven by the fact they literally didn't offer it two or three years ago. People just want the service to be on par with what it has been, not what it original was or what it could theoretically could...
"Perhaps its just not hard because you HAVE played them all?"
Objectively speaking, from my experience with Demon's Souls anyway, the games are designed in such a way that they anticipate what you're going to do and then punish you for doing it.
There were a lot of times when I would too hastily go down a path and get killed by a rock trap, have a dragon burn me or something else. This is why people often say the game feels like you made...
