For what its worth, they probably didn't have a huge preorder allotment to begin with. Like I remember I wanted a Wii U and they were also sold out. I eventually bought a bundle from NewEgg because I figured it was better than nothing and came with what I wanted, plus an extra game. I ultimately went to Walmart release day and recall seeing like 15 on the floor.

The point being, I could see them doing this to make it seem like the Switch is extremely popular and everyon...

"Multiple people in my household use the Wii U currently to play Splatoon and Mario Kart online. If it was $30 a year I may consider it."

This pretty much says it all. You have people in your house playing both games online, yet you seem to have an issue potentially supporting it at $2.50 a month.

"My worry with that, though, is that Splatoon 2 is certain to move units in Japan, and if it's selling well in Japan it may be a while befor...

"I'm waiting to hear the details... not an absolute requirement to play games online"

What we have is pretty much enough. According to the site, it seems everything from online multiplayer to even the voice chat app are limited to the service. The service will also offer a single SNES or NES game, but said game will only be playable for that month. There will also be exclusive deals, but Nintendo is not known for amazing deals and it's unlikely it will be ...

"With the expansions, either they couldn't make up their mind or just for marketing reasons, they do 4 expansions..."

I believe the rumored reworking of the story is to blame. We can see in previews and other things that the Dreadnaught, Reef social space and even cutscenes didn't make it into the launch and most were added as DLC later on. Odds are they planned on finishing all that stuff and adding it into the base game, but then they had something new t...

I can tell you I've personally written for a site that did this. I recall one of the conversations was something like...

Him "Vic, they announced that blank would be coming stateside and I want you to write an editorial about it."
Me "I couldn't care less about blank and see no point in writing about it."
Him "Just write a quick article listing some flaws and we can call it 'why we believe blank is doomed to fail.'...

While many people hate the direction Plus is going, I would argue that you're less likely to own a Plus game at the moment than in the past when they were offering retail games. Like December 2016 I had 0/6, where as December 2015 I had 3/6 and back in the Instant Game Collection days there were multiple months where I had more than half. Sadly, I don't think there was a month where every release fell into my wheelhouse and they didn't offer something that most people would never ...

"The people complaining are the ones that don't care for indies."

I really think the complaints are deeply rooted in the service going downhill. At one point Plus was offering multiple retail games, but then around the time the PlayStation 4 released they started offering less and less to the point where the difference is noticeable. In terms of releases, 2016 saw 18 retail titles, where as 2013 saw 36 (twice as many). Even this would be fine if 2016 had anywh...

"I believe you are missing the bigger picture"

I get the feeling you're the one who is missing the bigger picture.

When Plus released the service was pretty lackluster, but then they created the instant game collection. At this time PlayStation Plus was getting countless big games, in addition to small ones, and people were generally happy. The issue is when PlayStation 4 and the paid online came into play.

Unlike the Vit...

The issue with lore is that your whole stance seems to be based off the usage of a single term. By this I mean, because Link is referred to as being a hero, thus he has to be male. The problem with this is that you take an EXTREMELY rigid stance on words and their meanings.

First off, words, definitions and the like are CONSTANTLY changing. While heroine is, lets say the proper term, it isn't uncommon for people to use hero to refer to someone of either sex. Like you ca...

"Wow you sound ridiculous. I'm not even going to address all this."

Aka, I have no defense.

"You seem perfectly fine with being ripped off but I'm not."

Then why is your stance "I didn't have to buy Balrog Q.Q" and not "DLC characters are bullshit?" Seriously, people like you make me sick. Either complain about the practice or STFU about you person whims.

"And...

"I couldn't care less about them adding new or old fighters. What I do care about is being charged for them."

Like Batman said, you can earn them and they're not terribly overpriced.

"It's getting ridiculous now"

In the case of fighting games, it's actually less ridiculous. Before they would release a couple extra characters, rebalance and sell the game for $40+. Now a days developers just charge you...

"agreed, they shud of brought back classics"

The funny thing is that they can't win. People complain that Capcom is reusing characters and being lazy and then they announce five new characters and people are like, we rather you just reuse characters.

"Casuals like classics and casuals mean more money. "

You should also look at demographics. Casual gamers don't really exist in this genre and the ones that do ...

This stuff has an interesting domino effect, which can even be seen in the comments here.

Let me start by saying, I don't care about characters sexual preferences and only clicked on the article because I like reading the comments. With that out of the way, look at it like this.

OmnislashVer36 "Nobody says when there's a straight romance it's for attention"

I think Sony has some problems with their mailing lists in general. I opt for the newsletter and don't even receive that. The last one I got was back in March and I would be more worried/interested if they had interesting things to say. Now that all this fancy stuff is happening for people, I'm generally curious why I don't get it (I opted for it and I didn't unsubscribe). I mean, I can accept getting rejected, but not when I should get it, assuming this article is accurate a...

See, this is sort of the problem...

"I just don't understand why black videogame characters need to be caricatures."

There are a lot of caricatures in gaming, period. You can play a lot of games and see plenty of people of all walks of life being depicted as stereotypical things. It's more lazy writing than anything else.

" I mean look at GTA, the blacks are always thugs. "

So a game that ...

"When a game like this has a score of 83 on metacritic, and you see a 4/10, you know it's a bunk review, or at the very least not representative of what most others think."

Normally this holds true, though for a game like this it's a little harder. The Last Guardian is high concept, so it's obviously going to have divisive scores. However, the real issue is part of what PCR is saying and part of what Aloren is saying. ...

"Sorry, still trying to figure out how posting news articles that we get and rewrite from press releases and official company posts works on N4G"

When things are done correctly and follow the rules, the general idea is anything "unique" needs to go to the original author. Like if your news is a Twitter post that you've written a news article about, then you link to the Twitter post, not your article, unless your article includes something that can...

"Can't we all agree that embargo's are BS?"

I would agree if the logic behind them wasn't fine.

By restricting people from posting before XYZ, you accomplish two things. You discourage rushing and you prevent domino reviews. Now domino reviews or whatever you want to call them are reviews that are rushed out because they want to maximize views. Obviously you get far more if you're first or second and very few if you're 20 or...

@ _-EDMIX-_

Depends. I uploaded the first like 10 minutes of Guilty Gear Xrd's story so people could see what it was like, something that was in a no sharing zone, and the company quickly came after me with a copyright claim. I got one strike on my YouTube account over it and I was pissed. I fought it, but nothing came of it.
