Actually, it was for Tuesday. It was suppose to go up when it was announced, but the store update didn't seem to reflect it (I didn't see it listed on the new this week page no matter how much times I looked) and people were able to get it some part of yesterday because of the "24 hour" thing, though it was probably closer to 12 if you don't including having to search for it.
I agree. What I don't get is that it didn't seem to get updated on the site until later (I check the store every Tuesday) and seemed to have missed it because the store updated after I looked and according to some of the comments here it was only really up for 12 hours.
Even though PS+ NA has given away a lot of fighting games, I could see Sony distancing themselves from SFV. There is a lot of negativity and animosity towards the game and I think that might make it a hard sell as a free game, no matter how much Capcom wants it to be.
"How is it an opinion if someone just guesses something? "
I think the issue is pissing people off and not wanting to set standards.
One of the biggest problems with saying you can't write this type of post is that a lot of similar elements appear in other posts and they don't want to deal with people asking why is X allowed, but not Y. Likewise, you can report articles like this as lame and give a reason. Maybe if enough of them get fl...
Here is the gist.
Basically survival is a new mode, one that many people have already bought via the season pass, which requires you to, well, survive. The issue the writer has with this mode is that people wanted to progress and version 1.4 addressed these concerns by implementing new loot systems so people can progress. However, even though you can progress, survival starts you at a fixed point, so it doesn't matter how much prep work you do, you'll always be bac...
I'm pretty sure the PSP couldn't make an account until 2008, since that is when I joined the PSN and I only had a PSP at that point.
Honestly, I'm quite worried about Destiny 2.
My biggest concern isn't the quality of the game, but rather the expectations of the fans/audience. It seems like so many people have forgotten the past and we're back with the same beliefs that Destiny is going to be amazing that we saw at launch.
Destiny has a long development time and for one reason or another, the end product did not meet expectations. Both of the original expansions showed Bun...
I agree.
I find it amazing how some people are acting like a couple of bad journalists have ruined it for everyone and the YouTubers and the like are righteous.
Part of the problem is that people don't want fair reviews, but reviews based off morales and values. A great example of this is Street Fighter V. The Metacritic average for SFV is 77 for critics and 3.4 for user reviews.
The issue people have is simple. Street Fighter V di...
I don't think you could be more wrong.
For starters, it isn't uncommon for YouTubers and the like to approach companies the same way because of perks. Just look at all the perks various Destiny streamers get. From there the nature of the two are very similar.
A journalistic outlet can release a low score, just like a YouTuber can release one too. It will get views, companies will see and decide what they want and smart YouTubers will typically g...
The point of the article is that the choice is essentially pointless, which takes all the weight from the choice and makes it more of a checkbox. I get this perspective, but I feel like the developers/writer look at it from one side without thinking of the other.
The issue with this type of mechanic is that the choice will quickly become less of a choice on higher difficulties. If I am at such a disadvantage, then it is likely that I will rationalize my choices. I also like...
It really depends. I think a good example of this is Destiny.
How many do you think were actually swayed by the exclusive content? Do you think the exclusive content in the expansions impacted a lot of purchases? etc.
For me, I just pick the one that is on the console I like or my friends are playing. If all my friends buy Destiny on the Xbox I imagine I won't be swayed by the exclusives. This is my problem with the practice. It's hard to say how ...
"Third party exclusives are fine, it just depends on the game. "
See, this is terrible and flawed logic. It's like saying killing is fine, but you can only kill certain people. So if I kill some old lady no one cares about it's fine because she is worthless, where as I can't kill a child because said act is viewed as monstrous.
The problem is that the action is exactly the same, someone gets killed, but it is only a problem when the...
Honestly, the only right answer is no. Timed exclusives offer nothing for the consumer, so they offer us no advantage. They simply exist so one console can get a leg up on another.
"rather than continuing to make them look bad with delays."
How exactly does it look bad? Because you promise something and can't deliver? While I get this logic, I feel the game industry actually incentivizes delaying games, which is arguably a bigger problem.
One of the most common counters to making the release date is people not wanting a buggy product, something that other companies do. Now nothing says that the delay is there to fix th...
" So it's just a matter of how good the marketing and the game is."
Yes and no. Things like name recognition and things of that nature can go much further. I think The Last Guardian is a perfect example of this.
I think we can all agree that the marketing for The Last Guardian was virtually nonexistent for something like seven or eight years. However, due to the success/love of SOTC/ICO, the game remained relevant, even if companies did not...
" The way I see it, we're paying an extra $50 for some refurbished E3 and PAX giveaways that Sega had laying around."
I'd seriously love to go to the conventions/places this person supposedly goes and gets 12" figures of beloved characters and such. I mean, when I went to E3 and saw Sega I got a Jet Grind Radio lanyard and some buttons, so they were really holding out on me!
Seriously though, I don't see the issue here.
"Division got end game right? What the heck?"
The funny thing is that the praise is basically a contradiction and has more to do with the writer wanting the wrong things from The Division or games of the like.
"that’s something I honestly wish more MMO games did, since it seems kind of silly to let players roll solo for so long and then suddenly force them to group up or get lost if they want to keep progressing."
T...
"the 18.67 is Rise of Iron only."
Rise of Iron is only 13~ gb. Destiny itself is actually only 17.4 gb, so like Svoulis said, that is likely all it says.
"It is roughly 60 gb in total size I believe with everything installed"
Should be 51 gb.
" I love the list but these articles are not good for game sales"
The real issue is that they're hardly even predictions and something closer to a wish list.
The Evil Within? Something scary for Halloween.
Tomb Raider? We got Rise to be excited about.
Bound? Sony needs a garbage AAA title to fill a slot and boy is this it.
Killzone? It will eventually be free.
Black Flag? It was free elsewhere.

If you read the article, it's that RPGs are moving from more of a vague exploration to a fairly linear experience. The author basically wants a game filled with hidden paths, secret rooms and a ton of other things. Think something more like World of Final Fantasy, just more open than that.
Now, while I get where the author is coming from, I think this is more of a budget thing than anything else. Extremely high quality graphics, plus large places, in addition to tons of...
