"Why not finish these missing features, pad the launch line-up, and have a more complete feel to their new product launch?"
Because the Wii U is widely considered a failure and multiple heavy hitters (Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros. Super Mario Bros, a 3D Mario and more) didn't help it hit even 20 million in lifetime sales. It's clear from their approach last year that they basically decided to move all their projects to the Switch, finishing anything clos...
Eh...
"a shame that Nintendo reduces itself to shady practices like Amiibo exclusive content to price gouge fans and rip us off. "
The funny thing is that many Nintendo fans actually wanted NFC figures. Many seemed to want a game like Skylanders, but amiibo system is better than Skylanders. There many would feel the need to buy them all, where as the amiibo system is pretty open to you doing whatever. Not to mention some figures, like Smash Bros...
"How many hours"
For me, I have about 32 hours.
"what is your estimate on your story completion percentage?"
I finished the story in about 20 hours and got the platinum at 32 hours. This is a game where you don't need absolutely everything to platinum, but the only things I have to do are fetch quests and find a couple collectibles in random places.
"Also what is the max level?"
After looking at the reasons, I genuinely wonder if someone just repurposed a Games with Gold or PS Plus failure post to this. I say this since, outside of cost, all these things can be said about GwG and PS+ and even cost could come into play if they want to increase the price to something unreasonable.
EU and NA games have been the same for a while.
@ Wonderfulmonkeyman
"A lot of reasons, actually, but chief amongst them were a lack of a super compelling system seller like BotW at launch, and HORRIBLE advertisement. "
Sometimes it isn't what is literally said that matters, but the concept. The author of this article makes the same mistake.
"By August, however, the 3DS saw a steep price cut to $170, bundled with popular games like Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land...
"I can't see the blame being put on Nintendo."
If I understand Tetsujin's point correctly, they aren't saying anything about which ones got cancelled and why, but rather, the demand for this item exceeded what Nintendo expected. I've heard people theorize only 5,000 Master Editions were made and if so, that is a REALLY low number for such a popular franchise.
"The issue comes in that there is a rumor that a large shipment w...
"Some nice bait by Target in that ad. "
I think the best is what is under the Switch. I mean, you see the Switch with LoZ, 1 2 Switch and Bomberman under it, with it saying "Nintendo Switch Bundle" and the price of $299.99. However, it just lists what the Switch comes with. That being said, you could argue it's very deceptive, since it says "everything you need to get started," which I consider a game to be part of it, where as I assume the...
"He justifies it and that's the biggest problem."
Honestly, the biggest problem is that Metacritic is flawed. Not just because they weighted reviews, but for two other reasons.
The first and honestly biggest issue with Metacritic is that they're comparing the average of scores that define the numbers differently. Stevivor, one of the sites that gave Horizon a lower (7/10) score, has some pretty high expectations for the last couple of nu...
"Why do people bother predicting"
It gets views. To put it another way, I posted a long winded article detailing my feelings on how Nintendo needs to give more information. This got maybe 80 degrees on N4G. This article is just random games slapped on a list with maybe a little thought and it gets 240. Even if a lot of the heat comes from people like me who look at them for the comments, they still likely got more hits than my other article did.
"Only the second DLC contains a "new original story" and I'm guessing the "new dungeon" is what you explore within the new original story bit"
I wouldn't be shocked if this is true. While the website verbiage makes them out to be different things, it does imply that the additional challenges is the content.
"The second content pack will launch in Holiday 2017, and adds new challenges that will let players enjoy ...
Eh, I would say different people put different emphasis on things. Like, the US Gamer review has a strong lean towards narrative, so much so that I don't recall many gameplay details mentioned. Other people don't care as much about the narrative and instead focus on a different aspect, resulting in one persons flaw, being ignored by another.
@ LastCenturyRob
" Is that what you want or an overall accurate depiction of what to expect from the game? "
It's good to have accurate depictions of scores, but the problem with averages and numbers is that they mean different things. The first issue is how Metacritic views game reviews. It's almost universally understood seven is average and the minimum for a green score is 75, where as everything else is 61. From there, every site han...
"Who in their right mind would use their 2 weeks for doing nothing but being miserable?"
Depends what their end goal is. While this person just sounds like a devoted fan who is choosing to do this for whatever reason, Alex aka CaptainNintendoDude, has gotten a lot of publicity for spending a month waiting in line.
"I agree, spoiler threads are kind of selfish imo."
Honestly, I get where you're coming from, but I feel like you're being the selfish one.
"but trolls have easy access to info and can easily ruin the game for someone doing everything they can to stay away from spoiler threads."
There is no arguing that it sucks when someone spoils something you're excited for, but I feel like it's worse to say peopl...

"But if you're sitting there and losing to the same boss for hours than maybe these types of games aren't for you."
Isn't the whole point of the Souls series appeal to overcome the difficulty? I get that different people have different impressions, but it gets so confusing when you have one person saying the joy is overcoming the difficulty by your own devices, followed by another person saying that you must "get good" within this span of tim...
"Nioh isn't the game for you. Half of the fun is discovering the bosses and finding out on your own how to beat them."
Yet there are countless guides, tips, tricks, advice and countless other things to help people do it...
I mean, this might be how you view games like Nioh, but some people have better things to do than sit there for hours losing to a single boss because you don't realize, notice or know something simple. The absolute pe...
"I honestly think it was a mix up because she kinda say that that Xbox they got back wasnt the one she shipped."
Maybe, but the exact phrasing was "the condition that she received the Xbox in when it was returned was not the condition it was in when she sent it," which doesn't explicitly mean it's a different console. It could've just been bad shipping on Microsoft's part, something happened at the station, she remembered differently or s...
Get comments on N4G, which gives it degrees and that ultimately should, in theory anyway, lead to views. Odds are you can get more hits doing something like this than a well thought out editorial on a niche game or something along those lines.
With that being said, I find the logic of these articles funny. They always start with such silly logic and they try to relate it to things that should be free. Something like, April becomes April showers, which is associated with he...
