I don't know what is so hard to understand. He has the right to say it and still has the right to feel that way if he wants, but just because you have free speech doesn't mean you can't be punished. Also, the issue isn't that he supported things, just how he choose to express himself. There is a difference between saying I support trump and I support trump because he is going to blah blah blah.

I'm surprised how many people commented without mentioning what exactly discrimination is. Technically, regardless of where he worked, this isn't discrimination. For it to be discrimination, it has to be something that is completely unjust, like firing over age, race, gender, disability and so forth. He can't win and odds are the contract he signed said something about not ruining the companies image or something else where this would come into play.

Now, he co...

Indeed. They can help sell a game, but they can also cost you sales. Typically games with long or tedious trophies/achievements will be skipped because the investment isn't worth it. In the time it would take you to platinum something like Evolve, you could easily platinum five regular games. Likewise, something like My Name is Mayo sells copies because it has a platinum that is piss easy and really quick.

"If they do matter to the general people outside gaming forums, then why games like Gravity Rush 2 and Yakuza 0 flopped? "

Just because you release something, doesn't mean it will sell.

"Oh wait, if exclusives do matter so much, then why the WiiU didn't sell so well?"

It lacked third party support. Some people seem baffled by a fairly simple concept.

The whole notion that exclusives matte...

I get the concept you're getting at with the exclusives, but I can't help but feel some of these choices are purely business. For instance, Nier was on the 360, yes, but the sales were probably crap. VGChartz says the PS3 version sold more than double and it goes without saying that Xbox has little to no base in Japan. The weekly hardware chart on the front page claims that 89 (yes, eighty nine) Xbox One's were sold in Japan.

So, obviously, a lot of Japanese co...

I don't see how that would change if they played the full thing.

I get this and it's actually why the game I mentioned in another comment here got a 56 on Metacritic, but th...

"numbers should only matter if someone played the game from beginning to end, AND paid for it."

I don't think paying for it is a big deal, since it has its own biases attached. Sometimes people will defend something they paid for, simply because they don't want to admit they wasted their money. Likewise, there are some people who will be far more critical of issues, simply because they're angry at wasting their money.

And, while I&#...

"Not sure why you got so many downvotes, lol."

Speaking for myself, it's the notion that most things in the 7/10 range as a waste of time and it sort of goes along with the idea that 7/10 is a bad score. Also, there are many good games that get 7/10 scores too. Name recognition tends to be a double edge sword. In Mass Effect's case, I wouldn't be surprised if it is disappointing by Mass Effect standards, over being a title on par with Atelier Firis. Ot...

"and it's never going to get better "

One thing I think is sad is that some people don't realize how important this is. Nintendo is clearly doing things based off how they want and people keep telling them no. Some areas they improve, others they come half way, but without complaints Splatoon 2 would have absolutely no voice chat or the friend code being like that on the 3DS.

Then get it? The average is a little higher than the first game and a little lower than Kiwami. I mean, it's a decent game, it just isn't anything special.

@ MVGeneral

The issue is not only the concept, but how it is written. If this game was truly .2 points away from having a perfect score, I wouldn't need to go "it's not the best game, but certainly not the worst." At a score that high you wouldn't even compare it to the previous ones, since it's absurd to think a game with a near perfect score can't stand on its own. This suggests either the score was changed, they gave it a specific score beca...

It does, but the article tries to create to figure out an explanation for why it breaks when it historically hasn't.

While fan theories like this can be a lot of fun, this one seems pretty straightforward. Like the writer states, Nintendo simply didn't want you to just use one sword throughout your remaining adventure, which is why it deteriorates. Obviously, they can't make a weapon as special and time consuming to obtain like the Master Sword a one time obtai...

"But to say this game or any game is the greatest is far fetch. "

To be fair, the article isn't asking if it is THE greatest, just whether or not it's among the best. It's a little different, but that difference is quite important. It's like, there might not be a best movie, but there are certainly several movies that are widely believed to be among the best.

"More companies doesn't necessarily mean better games."

No, but it is a numbers game. Since Microsoft is close enough and lower, lets just say both Sony and M$ have 22 percent for sake of argument. This is a total of 990~ developers, so lets just sound up and call it 1,000 to simplify the math. With 3 percent of the share, Nintendo is looking at about 135 total. This is where the math gets scary. M$/Sony only need 13.5 percent of these games to be good or bett...

"Zelda fans are not worried as you can tell by the fact we don't go to the Horizon page and put zero's like horizon fanboys did Zelda."

But, there are zero reviews on the user page for Horizon and some specifically mention Zelda as being better. The funny thing is when I clicked the user reviews for Horizon and searched for mentions of Zelda, I found three on the first page, but zero mentions of Horizon on the first page for Zelda's 0 votes. "It's not hard to get where he's coming from."

Except the logic stems largely from the fact that Zelda is popular and many people are playing it. If you take a step back and think about it, the same could be said about any game with minimal explanation and plenty to do. These include The Binding of Isaac, Enter the Gungeon and countless more. The only real difference is that I have to actively look for someone who has played Enter the Gungeon, where as the...

I'm sorry, but I don't get this logic. Ultimately, even if you can't cancel the preorder, you can always return it if you don't open it. So, I could preorder Kingdom Hearts 3, see the reviews are poor and maybe not cancel the preorder, but certainly return the game. Obviously it's a hassle, but you can also avoid all this by just waiting. Especially with preorder bonuses being replaced with day one editions. The only exception is digital preorders, though those are general...

"Can anyone sway my opinion?"

Trophies exist to note achievement, not necessarily skill. The same holds true for achievements, obviously, but it seems really awkward to say trophies and achievements exist to note achievement. Anyway, while finding collectibles and things isn't typically hard, it is an achievement.

Furthermore, a lot of the "difficult" ones are undermined by things that are equally brainless. Many modes/fights have...

I always felt like everyone had a wait and see mentality with the Wii U and that was part of why it failed. Third parties started with some good offerings, but nothing that would've been a great indicator for sales (how many people had Mass Effect 3, Batman, Tekken, etc and simply didn't want to buy another fancy version of it?). Consumers wanted to see what Nintendo would do and what third party support it would get. Ultimately, neither side got sales and it didn't go well.
