Seems like Capcom is in a bad way these days - all of their decisions seemed to be based on the short-term and money alone. In the long term this sort of strategy tends to not work out so well.
Monster Hunter is crazy popular in Japan and not really popular at all anywhere else. Putting it on the 360 would make absolutely no sense.
I thought you could get is separately for the PC. Not on 360 or PS3 though.
Lookin' good. Too bad it comes out the same day as R&CF.
Fansubs rule!!
Great article. While I've seldom used BC on my Playstations, I've always thought it was something that made the Playstation brand stand out. I hope they figure out how to get back on formula.
I don't know how people can continue to try to compare standalone only while ignoring the PS3. Haven't more PS3s sold than both types of standalone players combined? I have a PS3 so why would I buy a Blu-Ray player? I just don't see how you can justify that as a valid statistic.
Bring on the demo!
It's still irritating that neither Hamonix nor Red Octane will give a straight answer to "Does the other guys controller work with your game?" or "Does your controller work with the other guys game?"
Of course they know - they just don't want to tell us so we think we have to buy new hardware.
Me, I'm getting GH3 on PS2 - get some more mileage out of the original controllers. Then I'll get RB for my PS3 and if the guitar controllers work maybe...
I agree. 3rd parties are going to want a slice of that Wii money, but they realize they can get pretty much the same amount with a mediocre game as a good one.
From a 3rd party perspective, you can deliver a very similar experience across the PC, 360 and P3S. But the Wii? Not so much. You've really got to tailor the game to the Wii hardware and control scheme. So unless the Wii's install base exceeds the PC, 360 and PS3 combined - or even just the 360 and PS3 - I don't see it ...
These videos are great. Other developers should take note.
Better Headline would be :
MTV Addresses Rock Band Guitar Compatibility, Kinda. Sort of? Not really.
Why do some people insist on calling any game with guns an FPS? The F and and the P do actually stand for something you know.
Wow. I only got 9.
What? A smug response from Bungie?!?! I just can't believe it! ;)
I bought a PS3 day one and I don't feel cheated. I knew the price would come down, but I didn't want to wait and that, for me, was worth the money. If Resistance didn't exist it would be a different story - I'd probably be getting my PS3 along with my copy of Ratchet & Clank Future.
Yay! Worst mod ever!
It's funny. I JUST saw an Orange Box commercial during Game Head that said "coming October 10th" and showed the Playstation 3 logo at the bottom. I was like "isn't that coming in December"?
I hope that the PS3 version lives up to the Half-Life legacy and, well, doesn't suck. I'd just get it on 360, but I want to play TF2 online and I don't want to pay for XBL anymore. I don't think that Valve would be OK with the PS3 version not being up to snuff, they have ...
I've played both versions of Skate, and it's true - there are some framerate hiccups in the PS3 version, more than I would consider acceptable, but not horrendous by any means.
What I thought was really interesting is that I find the way the 360 version controls almost unplayable while the PS3s played great - made me see how cool of a control scheme it is.
I think the inevitable conclusion is that we'll see other developers making Halo games with greater frequency. Microsoft is addicted to the Halo franchise, to the revenue that it generates, and they are going to want more of it. Now that Bungie won't be a part of Microsoft there's less motivation for Microsoft to let Bungie control the fate of the franchise. Obviously serious Halo fans won't like this, but the fact is that the Halo brand sells - like crazy - and Microsoft would probably prefe...
We should all send him some cheese to go with his whine.
I'm glad to see that the majority of n4g-ers are in agreement that he's full of it.
Umm, Mr. Newell, how much time have you spent working on games for the PS3? Oh, almost none you say? I guess that makes you the expert.
I agree that he's probably frustrated with getting the Orange Box out the door for the PS3, but this is just unprofessional. If Valve is having a hard time with the PS3 they h...
