This is funny "We will no longer carry Blu-Ray players, except for the best-selling one!". You can't "drop Blu-Ray" without dropping the PS3.
Oh SNAP!
Same here. Bigger HDD for DLC + Free Online + This = no brainer.
Unfortunately you can only get so much juice through one USB connection. They might have been able to make a Y cable that eats both USB ports to get enough voltage, but I can't say for sure.
It would have been better if it started killing other PS3s.
I haven't played the whole game, but I found the XBL demo really underwhelming - and I LOVED AC4 (5 was OK, but I liked 4 more).
Hopefully HD-DVD will bow out so things can get moving. As long as Sony and Disney stick with Blu-Ray HD-DVD simply can't win - they just own too much content, maybe you can "compete" but you can't win - in the long run pretty much everyone loses. This format war is bad for consumers and very bad for retail, the only ones I see getting anything out of it are the studios who are basically pitting the formats against each other to get what are tantamount to bribes. This makes sense b...
This score is an outrage!! I've never been so ANGRY!!!!11!1one
...huh? This isn't the Gamespot thread? My bad...

What an idiot - pretty much every single one of his criticisms is unfounded
To paraphrase:
"Variety in gameplay is bad, I only like to run and shoot" - idiot
"The story is lame" - WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING?!?
and that was pretty much it. He said everything else is awesome, but dinged it that much because of his opinion, which is heartily outside the mainstream.
Reviews schmeviews - this game is awesome no matter how you slice it. Now I just have to get to the end of the work day so I can keep playing and find out what happens next!
Yeah, the thing with Agro at the end (don't want to spoiler) was, for me, the most moving gaming moment ever.
Cooking Mama always makes me cry when it makes me chop onions.
I get what Microsoft is doing here, but if I ask myself if I can think of anyone in any situation who wanted to get a 360 who I would recommend this SKU over the Premium the answer is no. No HDD is enough of a reason to stay away if you ask me - forget downloading demos or anything else for that matter.
I'm not into card battle games in video or table form, but if I was I think I'd be hardcore geeking-out about this game.
For the time being at least they are replacing the 60 with the 80 so it'll probably be around for while at least - in NA anyway.
That's an excellent point - thanks for the firsthand insight!
My motivation for posting was how often I hear people complain about how Sony, or the like, are sticking it to them in their respective market - which I just don't buy.
I have no problem admitting that my post was terse, but in your lengthy responses you are only really addressing a very small part of the issue (tariffs, shipping to NA) as though is the entire issue which is disingenuous. Are labor costs, fuel costs, etc and all associated taxes equivalent in those markets (being Canada and USA (which I never mentioned specifically mind, since I was speaking more in general, but I digress)? Do they have equivalent infrastructures to support distribution? And...
Saying that you should sell something for the same amount in different markets assumes that it costs you the same to provide that product in all markets which is pretty much never true. If you want to blame someone, point the finger at your government and not at the corporations. The best they can do is to localize pricing because to really make it "fair", taking all factors into account, would be unmanageable.
Bunch of fascists. Remember the 3D0? That worked out great. Lazy lazy lazy.
I think it will sell well. The mainstream Playstation gamer wants a PS3 to play PS3 games, they've just been waiting for the price to come down - all the while playing their PS2s. I think everything else is a distant second to that.
