Sonic was one of the major flagship mascots for Sega back when they were in the console business and to me they are only disrespecting Sonic's legacy by continuing to churn out less than stellar Sonic games.
I was never a Sonic fan and I've only played a few Sonic games that were on the Sega Genesis, but I think that Sega should take the Sonic series back to the Sonic Adventure roots. I remember I watched a friend play Sonic Adventure on his Dreamcast many years ago and it looked...
I want to see AND PLAY Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, and God of War 3 in 3D :)
Sony brought Killzone 2 and Infamous to CES, so I wouldn't be surprised if they did show Killzone 2 in 3D!!
"with the NOT SO IMPRESSIVE LBP sales"
LBP has sold over a Million copies, and to me that's a great accomplishment for a new IP like LBP to achieve in the short time frame.
Hmmmm..... I wonder how many copies Banjoe Kazooie Nuts and Bolts has sold? I'm pretty sure it hasn't sold a Million copies yet.
:)
Summer 2009 may be a while away, but I think that InFamous will be able to hold you over.
Right now I think that Prototype looks pretty good, but right now I'm liking how InFamous is shaping up much more. InFamous will probably be taking WAY more advantage of the PS3's hardware than Prototype, that's for sure.
@ HappyFace
JRPG's almost always sell the most in Japan and Japanese sales alone will be more than enough to ensure that the game goes on to be a huge success worldwide.
And how do you know if WKC will get "Poor Reviews"? Famitsu has given plenty mediocre games high review scores like HAZE, so just because they gave WKC a 29/40, it doesn't mean that it will get the same review scores in the United States.
"poor reviews, lack of interest i...
I remember I used GameFaqs for Shadow of the Colossus because there was a few Colossus I just couldn't figure out how to beat.... I remember I spent probably about 2 or 3 hours fighting the Final Colossus and I just couldn't figure out how to take him out, so I used GameFaqs as a last resort.
I only use walkthroughs if I'm REALLY stuck in one particular spot, but that's it. No matter how hardcore a gamer is, I think that everyone gets stuck in a game every know and then, and I ha...
"Who buys an arcade to buy the most expensive harddrive add on immediately after."
This holiday season, I'm sure that there was a bunch of uninformed adults buying Xbox 360's for their kids and probably went with the cheapest one they saw just because of price alone, the Xbox 360 Arcade with No Hard drive. I'm pretty sure that there's plenty of people that have gotten Arcade 360's and have had to buy a separate hard drive for it.
"I will make a simple ...
@thor,
I really wouldn't call InFamous a "Free-Running" game, it's an Open World game.
In Infamous, you can make decisions to do good or be evil and the choices you make will impact the rest of the game.
A little info on Infamous taken from an article:
"As the player completes the main goals, side opportunities to help the citizens of Empire City will be presented; an example given by Game Informer includes a scenario where, o...
I'm 20 Years Old.
I'm not a big fan of cheat codes, but I do remember this Contra Code though.
The last game I think that I ever used cheat codes in was Twisted Metal Black in 2001/2002 on the PS2 and haven't used codes since. I try to beat a game first before using cheat codes, but Contra was a hard game to me, LOL.
Bubbles to all of the older gamers that responded to Blademask and bubbles to Blademask as well :)
I think they are worrying what Sony is doing price wise because a PS3 price cut would boost sales significantly in all 3 major territories.
The Xbox 360 price cut for the most part mainly boosted 360 sales a lot in the U.S... the 360 price cut did help the 360 in Europe, but the impact wasn't as big as the U.S. In Japan, the 360 price cut has barely helped it at all. The only thing that has pushed 360 sales in Japan is the JRPG's, not price.
The PS3 had been outperform...
I really don't see what makes the 360 bundle that much more special. The only considerable difference is that the 360 version comes with the Deluxe Edition of RE5.
The 360 version comes with a 48 Hour Xbox Live Gold Membership and that's good and all, but the PS3 has Free Online.
For most Japanese gamers waiting to buy RE5, I think they'll mostly go with the PS3 bundle anyways.
I think the design on the PS3 version makes it a little more special because...
A recent entry from Shane's Blog:
"Greetings and salutations, Sadly, I haven't got much time to wax philosophical about my many years of service to Ziff Davis/ EGM/ 1up (as the massive 1up drink-on downstairs beckons), but I'll do that tomorrow, I promise.
Watch this space. For now, please know that my decision to leave 1up magically coincided with the big UGO deal that's currently galvanizing 1up into something new, unique, and hopefully still awesome.

As far as Killzone 2 goes, I expect it to get recieved mostly positively from most review sites. The only reviews that I really care about from Killzone 2 is: IGN, IUP, Gamespot, and GameInformer. But either way, review scores aren't stopping me from getting the game. I've been waiting for Killzone 2 ever since it was first announced and nothing is stopping me from owning that game.
I already know that Killzone 2 will get nitpicked to death for little small things in the game tha...
"The only thing I don't agree with is that last bit - the market was fine before the Playstation arrived. It will be fine long after the Playstation dies."
The Playstation brand will NEVER die and I agree with Toastman 100%. Bubbles up.
When Sony came out with the PS1, they really defined gaming and took it to the next level and made it cool for an adult to be a gamer because back then, Video games were still considered something like a childs toy.

I didn't really expect the Review build to be that much significantly different than the Preview build, but WOW! Guerrilla has done an awesome job. Aside from the lighting, to me the Review Build has a much clearer, sharper image as well.
And Kudos to Sony Santa Monica and Insomniac for their collaboration on Killzone 2 as well! I really hope that more Sony devs. collaborate on certain projects for the PS3.
"Today, Sony is at an inflection point, with massive upheaval and potentially entire divisions being closed or sold, one of which could conceivably be PlayStation"
If the Playstation division was going to be affected, the positive outlook for 2009 and beyond by Sony execs. like David Reeves seems to say other wise. And recently David Reeves said that the Playstation division would not be affected by job cuts:
The article mentions FFXIII on the 360 in 2009, but Final Fantasy XIII on the Xbox 360 most likely won't see the light of day until 2010 at the earliest. I think It's going to ta...
I'm not a fan of 1UP, but I did like reading EGM magazine. Whenever the older Official Playstation magazine published it's last magazine issue in 2006, they recommended EGM, so I subscribed and it's the only reason why I did. For a pretty long while EGM was the only gaming magazine I read until Playstation The Official Magazine started it's first publication last year.
If EGM does close up shop, I guess I'll have to find other multi-console magazine to subscribe to and I will pro...
I think that developers didn't really even have the proper time with the Original Xbox to really exploit what it was really capable of because Microsoft cut it's life short.
However, I do think that some developers came pretty close to maxing out the Playstation 2 last generation. Shadow of the Colossus, Killzone 1, God of War 2, BLACK, and Gran Turismo 4 are just a few games that I think showed what the PS2 was really capable of and pushed the console to it's limit.

Sony isn't "forcing" anything on anyone. They are just showing off the new Technology at CES off of Ps3 games, what's wrong with that?
I don't know about anyone else, but I would love to play my games in 3-D if I could. The Next Gen consoles might be fully 3-D, so you should probably take note of this 3-D stuff going on at CES because it's probably the future.
