BLACK also came out on the PS2, it wasn't just on the Xbox.
When it comes to KZ2 marketing, I think that Sony will market KZ2 the way it should, because I just can't see Sony not advertising their biggest budget project to date like it's the most important title.
If Sony wants KZ2 to sell as well as MGS4 or more, I think they know that it's going to take some serious advertising because Sony advertised the hell out of MGS4.
Even though Sony's advertising hasn't really been the best, don't forget, Sony can have good marketing ...
"But considering this game got a crappy review over there, it shows that ps3 owners in Japan are desperate for jrpg's and will pick up anything. "
LOL, Famitsu has given Xbox 360 JRPG's high scores, but so far, the majority of them have been nothing but average/below average once they were reviewed over here in the U.S. and Europe.
Level 5 is a pretty well known and respected Japanese developing studio, and Japanese gamers know what studios in Japan make go...
Let me finish some of their quotes for them:
"When Killzone 2 ended....we hated it."
"Killzone 2 has graphics......better than any other game we remember playing before."
"We get a special, fuzzy feeling..... everytime we hop in the tank and Mech to mow down some Helghast." :)
Looking forward to their review.
LOL!! Killzowned!!!
The look on their faces was just priceless.
Cwalat, Killzone 2 is a whole different type of shooter than Halo 3 and on an entire different level both graphically and technically. If you like Run-and-Gun shooters that require little to no skill, stick with Halo then. Killzone 2 is for the big boys.
Multiplayer? Nah, I don't think Uncharted 2 really needs it.
If there is Multi-player, I guess Naughty Dog can put in Co-op like in RE5, but that's about it.
I would rather have Naughty Dog focus on making the best Single Player experience possible.
If Kojima is addicted to L4D, hopefully we'll see him on some Killzone 2 Online or something. I remember back at E3 or some other gaming event last year, he was playing KZ2 and even Miyamoto was spotted checking out KZ2, LOL.
Yeah, I definantly hear a lot of people complain about Collectors Editions not being worth the money for whatever reason, and I also do buy Collectors Editions.
I guess the big deal about KZ2 not having a Collectors Edition is because this is a really big budget, highly anticipated title, and usually most big budget titles have Collectors Editions like Halo 3 and Gears of War 2.
I don't know about anyone else, but to me Killzone 2 not having a Collectors Edition is l...
Ah, well... this is somewhat of a letdown because I was really hoping for a Collectors Edition.... I wanted some Behind the Scenes type stuff, Developer Interviews, and Art Book or some other stuff like that... oh well, I guess it's the game that counts, but I'm still just as excited for Killzone 2 regardless.
But, I still don't see why Sony didn't actively pursue a Collectors Edition.... I guess Killzone 2's much higher development cost may be one reason or because Resistance 2'...
My top 3 PS3 titles from that PS3 exclusive list is: KZ2, Uncharted 2, and God of War 3 hands down. It was hard to choose my top 3 because I'm looking forward to Heavy Rain and GT5 (if it comes out in 2009) just as equally.
At GDC or E3 this year, I hope that Sony at least gives some confirmation whether or not God of War 3 will even be coming out in 2009 for sure because so far all we have to go by is a rumored Dec. 2009 release. Even if God of War 3 doesn't come out in 09', I'l...
I like how GTA4 implemented open-ended gameplay by allowing you to choose between various senarios, but I'd like to see that expanded upon....essentially I'd like to see a future GTA game have a feature similar to Heavy Rain, in which every decision you make will determine the outcome of the game.
Even though bigger doesn't always mean better, I'd like to see a future GTA game the size of GTA3, Vice City, San Andreas, and GTA4 combined. I want a HUGE, MASSIVE world that feels lik...
Hermen Hulst, the man with the plan. Sometimes I think Insomniac or Sony should let Guerrilla develop the next Resistance title because the level of detail and realism in KZ2 is what I want in a future Resistance title.
Killzone 2 should have some Mid-Night Openings too because a game of this caliber deserves it.
.... And for some reason, I like his Dutch English accent.... it's so different from any other accent I've heard.
Sometimes I almost feel like pinching myself to make sure that Killzone 2 is actually less than 2 months away.... I felt the exact same way whenever Metal Gear Solid 4 was so close to release, and I'll probably feel the same whenever Team ICO delivers their next masterpiece.
Killzone 2 is one of the most realistic depictions of a shooter I've seen, and I can't wait to get this True Next-Gen title in my hands.... but other than that...... Guerrilla, Announce a COLLECTORS EDITION, ...
"Do we really need 3D in our homes right now?"
No, we don't "need" 3-D, but it sure as hell would be cool to have it.
When you look at the products that Sony produces, they aren't about giving people what they need, they give you more than what you want and they give you stuff you don't really "need" because that's what Sony is all about.
"But for a first impression - wow. Halo ODST has a lot to live up to."
LOL, of course Halo ODST has a lot to live up to, as well as Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 because Killzone 2 has raised the bar even higher.
@Ace_Shooter,
The guy that wrote this said that he ONLY saw a small part of the opening mission. He hasn't even played the FULL game so how does he know about "Variety"? Killzone 2 has already been confirmed to have differe...
Of course Killzone 2's hype will translate into Real-World sales and I think that Killzone 2 will become the PS3's fastest selling game.
There's been tons of 360 only owners that have been on the fence for a PS3 until Killzone 2 drops, and I anticipate that it will draw in many Xbox 360 owners..... that's probably why Microsoft moved up the release of Halo Wars to February. If there's just ONE game to convert Xbox 360 owners to PS3 owners, Killzone 2 is the game to do it.
...
Well, I'm not going to say that 2009 wont be year of the 360, but I will say this:
When the PS3 hits $299 this year (which it should) I think the PS3 and 360 will be going back to selling about the same amount of consoles monthly in the U.S. At that point the 360 MAY still outsell the PS3 by like 100,000- 200,000 units monthly over here, but I don't expect the gap to be that much larger between the PS3 and 360 with a PS3 at $299 in the U.S.
As far as Europe goes, the...
A Map Editor would be awesome, but I'd like a feature in Killzone 2 like in Halo 3 where you can record gameplay straight to your hard drive.... actually, I wish that ALL games supported that feature.
In Addition to More Maps, Vechicles in Multiplayer like Tanks, the walking Mech in the Single Player, and whatever else would be awesome too for future DLC.
"Screw all the interviews, reviews etc
All we need is February 27th to come faster."
LOL, you got that right!
I'm pretty sure there will be some Killzone 2 copies released early or people that get their hands on the game much earlier, because that's almost always the case with Video Game releases and some DVD releases (some people had Dark Knight on Blu-ray about 1-2 weeks before release)
I bet those early KZ2 copies are going to be selling ...
Well, I definantly agree with BLACK 2 and Jak 4. BLACK was my favorite shooter on the PS2, and the Jak and Daxter series was my favorite action adventure platformer last-generation hands down, and I've been craving for a Jak game on PS3 for ages.
Crysis has been rumored to come to consoles for some time now, and I think it has a good chance of coming out for consoles this year.
But if I were to make a list of my own "Most Wanted Game Announcements for 2009"...
