Luckily for me, I have a launch 60GB PS3 with the Emotion Engine chip for full compatibility will PS1 and PS2 games.
But what about the PS3's that used Software Emulation for Backwards compatibility, like the 80GB PS3 bundled with Motorstorm and like the 80GB PS3 bundled with MGS4?
Those older model 80GB PS3's that used Software Emulation for Backwards compatibility didn't have an Emotion Engine chip in them, so I think there's a little bit more to why the PS3 doesn'...
"i bet you the ps33 doesnt ligth up in pleasure when you pop in killzone 2
this must mean Halo Wars is truley the next AAAA tilte for 360. kthx Microsoft"
LOL, Capital G can't even spell when trying while "trying" to spin Killzone 2. I guess all of the mindblowing Killzone 2 videos have made him so nervous he can't even type straight. Ha ha ha!
LOL, at GDC last year, an Xbox 360 bit the dust in the same fashion, and and now the infamous hardware failure strikes again at yet another Tech. Event. All I have to say is Thank You Sony for making reliable hardware time and time again and not rushing the PS3 out to the market.

My God, when will it end! I just can't help but watch the videos.
That walking tank reminded me of the Mech that will be in F.E.A.R 2 as well, and everyone already knew of the Mech's in F.E.A.R. 2 before release, so I don't really see this too much of a spoiler.
Killzone 2 has set the bar for FPS on a whole new level and Feb. 27th couldn't come soon enough! Every other FPS game will have to answer to Killzone 2 from here on out this generation.
Damn! That Helghast Tank scene was just awesome. It ripped through the building with the Blades on it's Treads! I don't think I've ever seen something like that.
The video wasn't much Spolier for me though because it only showed clips of various cutscenes.... but still, I almost can't believe that those cut-scenes are in-game because they look so close to CGI it's just ridiculous.
Insomniac, I hope you guys are taking note, because I want Resistance 3 to be on Killzo...
The game looks awesome and looks like a really good game to follow up the release of Killzone 2 a couple of months later in Spring 2009.
An excerpt from Gamespot's CES updated impressions of InFamous:
"Fleming ended the demo before the mission was complete so as to avoid spoiling the story, but the brief glimpse we saw of the game during this stage demo looked quite good. You can expect to see more on Infamous as the spring 2009 release draws closer."
Damn, What the heck has Guerrilla done?! They have created a freakin masterpiece! I just can't wait until Killzone 2 is released so that all the haters and naysayers can be put to rest for good.
That video was brutal, epic, and beautiful all at the same time.
OMG!!! That was simply awesome. I almost can't believe that all of that was real-time because I swear it looked like CGI.
Sony needs to use this for a Killzone 2 commercial.
I want to download this video in HD so bad!
"They will know, Helghan belongs to the Helghasts"
Visari, I'm takin' you down buddy, Feb. 27th, your goin' down. But when it comes to Online multiplayer, Helghasts FTW!!!
I think that Halo got Free passes when it came to the video game trailers simply because it was "Halo".
I think a lot of the gaming media just took advantage of the fact that Killzone 1 wasn't all that it was proclaimed to be and didn't have problems with taking shots at Killzone 2 because of that. If Killzone 1 had turned out something like Halo on the first Xbox, then I doubt they would be giving Killzone 2 such a hard time.
Sometimes I think a lot of gam...
"I'm sure Killzone 2 will be a fine game. But there is no chance in hell it will have the gameplay or be as innovative as Halo 3 was."
How do you know that Killzone 2 "won't have the gameplay" if you haven't even played the game?, and what in the world is that supposed to mean?
I seriously don't know why so many Xbox fans keep mentioning Killzone 2's gameplay like it's some kind of taboo or mystery. Killzone 2 is a more realitic, tactical First P...
I watched the video, and I really don't see what the big deal is. From what I saw, on Normal Difficulty, Killzone 2's A.I. is pretty brilliant. Killzone 2's A.I. on Normal Difficulty is like Night and Day compared to Killzone 1's A.I. though, and I own KZ1, so I know.

Japanese PSP sales are on FIRE, and to me it's ridiculous for anyone to make such claim that the PSP is "doomed". I really don't know why here in the U.S., the U.S. gaming media seems to think that American sales = The World.
The only thing I think the PSP needs is more 3rd party support, but thats about it. But in terms of sales, it's selling well, especially in Japan.
Blu-ray has been adopted far faster than DVD was in the same time frame, so how is Blu-ray in jeopardy?
"For better or for worse, the fate of the PS3 and that of the Blu-ray format will forever be intertwined."
^^That statement isn't true because look at the UMD format. The UMD format is literally dead, but the PSP still uses UMD's for it's games. If somehow Blu-ray was to fail, the PS3 would still use Blu-ray DVD's for it's games and would still be selling...
I really don't see why someone wouldn't want Blu-ray if they had the option.
Saying that you don't want Blu-ray to me is like saying, "I don't want HDTV's" because HDTV's and Blu-ray go hand-in-hand, and I'm glad the PS3 already has it built in.
When I first bought my PS3 I had no intentions of ever buying Blu-ray DVD's, but I've been buying all of my movies only on Blu-ray since June 08', and since I wanted to get the most out of my HDTV, Blu-ray was the o...
"I don't care about 130% increase over Christmas, or whatever the hell that means."
It means that PS3 sales increased 130% during Christmas 2008 compared to Christmas 2008. What's so bad about that? If PS3 sales are increasing Year over Year like this past Christmas while still selling at $399, it's doing FINE.
This is the way I see it, If the PS3 has still been able to remain VERY competitive against the Xbox 360 while still being $399, whenever the PS3 hits ...
"1.3M? Should have sold alot more than that."
Banjoe Kazooie is already an established franchise, and I seriously doubt that even it has sold a million because Microsoft hasn't said anything about it recently. Even though Nuts and Bolts had literally no hype, I think Banjoe should have sold more because it is already an established Million seller franchise... but of course, we all know that Banjoe being on the Xbox 360 is holding back it's sales.
LBP sellin...
That Vaio P series Notebook was definantly interesting. I'll probably pick that up for myself sometime this year. Using that P series Vaio sure beats toting around a much heavier laptop for traveling and such. Being able to get online wherever there's a Cell Phone signal is what sold me on the product.
Even though those P series Laptops retail at $899, I'm pretty sure it will be discounted up to about $150- $200 dollars or so by various places like Amazon.com. Before I even thin...
"Stringer returns, and thanks Lasseter and Bob Iger at Disney for sticking by Blu-ray. Stringer expresses his excitement for Toy Story 3, due out next summer. Pixar is also remastering Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in 3D and will release them in theaters this summer."
I can't wait for Toy Story 3. I remember watching and enjoying Toy Story 1 and 2 when I was much younger and loved them. I might even go see the 3-D versions of Toy Story 1 and 2 this Summer because it's been ...
"My god. Let the hype engulf you"
LOL, I've already been engulfed in the hype for years!
Can't wait to finally get Killzone 2 in my hands.... After all the years, it's almost here baby!
I haven't been this excited for a game release since MGS4... but I think I'm even more excited for KZ2 than I was for MGS4 though.
"It's not just a great game. For this generation so far, it may be the great game; the one production that becomes an instant measuring stick. In other words, everyone will compare future games to KZ2 for many years to come."
From here on out, every FPS game will have to answer to Killzone 2, and I'm glad that the bar has been risen yet again because someone had to do it, and I'm glad that it's a PS3 exclusive to do it.
I love it when the bar continues to b...
