With Bioware under EA now, I think that it's just a matter of time before Mass Effect goes Multiplatform.... there's no escaping it because it's most likely gonna happen.
Bioware doesn't have total control over the Mass Effect franchise anymore, EA does. EA doesn't even know what the word "exclusive" means, all they know is Multiplatform and $$$$$$$$$$ and Multiplatform = More $$$$$$$
I guess we'll all find out once and for all at GDC whether Mass Effect is...
@anthonyp01,
No, I really don't care about Mass Effect. If it comes to PS3 then good, if it doesn't, it really doesn't matter to me.
It's gotten pretty good review scores, and I don't think that it's a crap game by any stretch of the imagination.
I've heard some people talk about some little bugs in the game and a lot of elevators or something, but that's about the only negative thing I've heard about it.
Well, I do think that the PS3 is probably only capable of a game such as Killzone 2.... I mean, the Xbox 360 has been out on the market for 3 years going on into it's 4th year, and nothing has came out on the 360 exclusively that comes as close to Killzone 2 other than Gears of War.
When it comes to Processing, I think the Playstation 3 does have an edge, and I've heard a couple of developers say in articles that the Raw Processing Power of the PS3 is impressive. I think the 360 ...
2008 was a good year for the PS3 Software wise, and 2009 looks even better.... and just look at the PS2, going into it's 9th year on the market and still getting AAA games like Persona 4, simply amazing.
LOL!!!
Drake, Love the new Avatar man. Those Helghast eyes just look SICK!!
I don't blame for thinking about picking up another PS3 at $299 though. I would pick up another PS3 at $299, but I'll probably try and hold out until a PS3 Slim comes out.
A $100 dollar PS3 price drop in March or April for the U.S. would be simply awesome. I'm very interested to see how much more the PS3 can sell at $299... a PS3 at $299 for what you get out of the box is a freakin' steal.
Kaz Hirai wouldn't have been saying the remarks he made for no reason, and it's obvious that there's plenty of stuff brewing up in the Playstation camp. With the PS3's game lineup and $299 price point, a huge resurgence could be upon us.
It's not just the PS3 because people were saying the exact same thing about the PS2 being hard to develop for early in it's lifecycle as well, and look how far the PS2 has come since then.
This may sound crazy, but in a way I'm glad that the PS3 is tougher to develop for because it will only make developers work harder and when those developers look at games like Killzone 2 running on the PS3, they should get instant inspiration at what they CAN achieve on the PS3, but to get to ...
I have to agree, I don't know how much longer I can wait for a Team ICO game announcement, but I think it's coming this year.
Even though it's taken a while, I think it'll be worth the wait because when Team ICO makes a game, they stir up the entire gaming industry and it moves people in way like never before.
The God of War 3 footage showed a the VGA's was obviously old, hopefully this footage being shown off in February is what Jaffe was going crazy over.
After seeing how Killzone 2 improved so drastically from earlier builds to Pre-Alpha, and then to Final builds, God of War 3 will definantly look WAY better than the VGA trailer.
The wait for God of War 3 is going to be just as agonizing as the 37 day wait left for Killzone 2. Me and my sister both are just dying to play G...
Tales of Vesperia had better be coming to the PS3 after Namco Bandai has now made Tekken 6 multiplatform.
I guess it should have been pretty obvious though because Tekken 6= multiplatform, then Tales of Vesperia= multiplatform.
Oh yea... one more thing Namco, I want the next Ace Combat on the PS3 like it should have been with Ace Combat 6.
I personally don't care about Car Customization in Gran Turismo, and I don't care about damage either.
Gran Turismo has always been about the actual driving experience and physics, and when it comes to that, it delivers.
When it comes to Gran Turismo, each GT game hasn't sold over 8 million copies for no reason, and each Gran Turismo sold that many copies without Car Customization, so obviously plenty of fans of the GT series (including me) can do without it and stil...
@360Degrees
What the hell does HAZE have to do with Killzone 2? HAZE was a horrible game, that's why it didn't sell. Lair wasn't exactly a horrible game to me because I have it, but it didn't get the best review scores in the world and that's why it didn't sell that well.
LittleBigPlanet, Uncharted, Motorstorm, and Metal Gear Solid 4 ARE ALL Million sellers and they will continue to keep selling. Since when did a PS3 exclusive have to sell a million copies in a week ...
People like this guy needs to stop comparing Killzone 2 to Killzone 1.
Killzone 1 failed because it was filled with bugs, glitches, framerate issues, and A.I. issues. Killzone 2 on the other hand is a COMPLETELY different game quality wise and is the exact opposite of Killzone 1 in terms of production value. Killzone 2 is polished like never before.
If you look at Killzone 1 and then compare it to how good Killzone 2 has turned out so far, you probably couldn't be ab...
It makes plenty of sense for the next Rachet to possibly appear at GDC and to be released Fall of this year. I have to admit, with all the games being talked about on the PS3, I had totally forgotten all about a new Rachet game this year.
I'm really interested in seeing what games come out of Insomniac's new studio here where I live in North Carolina too. Insomniac has stayed independent and exclusive to Sony for over 10 years, and I hope it stays that way for a LONG time.
I agree about being humble, but Sony has been humble for a large part of this generation. Microsoft PR like Don Mattrick and Aaron Greenburg have ran their mouths immensely.
Sony usually isn't the company to boast for no reason at all. With these powerful fighting words coming from Kaz, I have a feeling there's plenty of stuff brewing up in the Playstation camp for 2009.
When running a race, it's not always the quickest that wins, but the one that endures until the...
I think that IGN will give Killzone 2 nothing less than a 9... I mean, if IGN gave Resistance 2 a 9.5 ( a score that I totally didn't expect), I see no reason why Killzone 2 will get anything lower than a 9 from them.
For the most part, I expect high 8's and low 9's for Killzone 2 when it comes to the majority of gaming websites. I know a lot of people have hyped up Killzone 2 to the point where a score slightly less than a 9 is supposed to be a flop, but that's just ridiculous (...
I think anyone in their right mind wouldn't go by Maxim's review scores because a Men's Softcore magazine isn't exactly the best source to go to for reviews.
One other thing that makes no sense to me is that Maxim gave Resistance 2 5/5, but Killzone 2 a much lower score.... I have nothing against R2 (I have the game), but Killzone 2 takes dumps all over Resistance 2 in almost every way: graphically, technically, realism, higher production values, and just by looking at the Cinem...
It's not a huge update, but I've always been wanting a way to organize my photos more extensively on my PS3 because I have around 200+ Photos on it. The new Photo Application looks pretty neat.
For people that don't use their PS3 for it's Multimedia functions, I can see how they may think the update is pretty lackluster, but for Multimedia PS3 users like me, I think it's nice.
But, I have to agree with Sev, some Custom Avatars would be nice because the selection of A...
I also agree that the 10 year plan makes since.
I think a lot of people don't realize that Sony never intended for the PS3 to sell at the same rate that the PS2 did, and comparing PS3 sales in the U.S. to Gamecube U.S. sales in the same time frame like that other article did is just ridiculous. Compared to the Gamecube in the same time frame, the PS3 is already a success because the Gamecube was a flop.
The 10 year plan also makes sense because these generation of co...
This is no different than a picture taken from just any ol' game in development.... I guess Alan Wake's mysterious development cycle is what making people go so crazy over it.
With Sony bringing out their big guns at GDC like God of War 3 and Uncharted 2, Microsoft really needs to show SOMETHING in regards to Alan Wake at GDC.
Anyways, Alan Wake is a game I've always been interested in because it looks like it could be something really different and unique. If it's g...
