I don't think Killzone 2 will outdo Halo 3 in sales, but I do definantly think it's going to sell just as much as MGS4 or a little more because KZ2 is the the most anticipated game to hit the PS3 since MGS4.
The only PS3 game that I can see outselling Halo 3 is Gran Turismo 5, because every Gran Turismo game has sold more than 8 million copies, with Gran Turismo 3 topping out at over 14 million copies.
@JasonXE
Halo Wars (and other video games) going Gold doesn't refer to 500,000 people that have already pre-ordered/bought it like a CD Record, it refers to the Game Dics finally entering the Manufacturing process.
However, I wouldn't be surprised if 500K people have already pre-ordered it just because it's Halo.... but in my opinion I don't think a lot of Halo fans really care about Halo Wars because it's a RTS.
@-GametimeUK-,
I did love Killzone 1.
Yes, Killzone 1 had tons of bugs, glitches, and A.I. issues, but overall it was a Solid Shooter to me and I've had tons of fun with KZ1 and I still play it.
People like you GametimeUK need to get Killzone 1's issues and downfalls out of your head because you are just living in the past.
Guerrilla has learned from their past mistakes and has even stated so in a Video Documentary that was recently approv...
KZ2 is so popular because the game actually lives up to the hype graphically and gameplay wise.
I don't think I've ever seen any other shooter IN MY LIFE that has as much action going on at one time as Killzone 2 on screen. All I've got to say is that KZ2's gameplay videos speak for themselves and if you still have doubt about KZ2 even after seeing how amazing and explosive the action is in KZ2, to me you are just in serious denial.
If this IGN article below doesn't ...
ARGGGH!!! Why the heck does the gaming media hype up PS3 games so much? They should just let Killzone 2 run it's course and wait for the critics to say what they have to say in reviews before making such bold claims instead of possibly jinxing the game with the "Halo Killer" title.
The media did the same thing with Killzone 1 in terms of hype and they are doing the same thing with Killzone 2, the biggest difference this time around is that Killzone 2 lives up to that in...
I haven't really even heard of Section 8 until now. Plus, there's plenty of Exclusive Shooters coming out on the PS3 this year: Killzone 2, The Agency, M.A.G., Quantum Theory.... there's enough shooters on the PS3. PC and Xbox 360 gamers can have it. I've heard little to nothing about this game up until now, so I could careless.
I can't even remember how many times I've played through SoTC... I think I've beat it 4 or 5 times.... 2 times on Normal Difficulty, 1 Time on Hard Difficulty, I beat it 1 time doing the Time Attack Mode, and I think I completed it another time after that.
There's just something about SoTC that makes me not get tired of playing through it over and over... its got an Epic Soundtrack and Epic battles, its one of the best experiences I've ever had in gaming, and it's a game that eve...
The only PS3 exclusive games that I think might not make a 2009 release are God of War 3 and possibly DC Universe Online, but I think most of the rest will definantly come out in 2009 for sure.
I disagree with this article about Heavy Rain and I do think that Heavy Rain is gonna make a 09' release because there's already been a full onstage gameplay demonstration of it way back at Leipzig last year and I think it'll be ready before the end of the year.

Nah, there's no way that I could ever see Sony and Microsoft joining forces and I don't think it should ever happen. Competition is always better for the consumer.
I really don't see a company like Sony and Microsoft agreeing on much when it comes to a collaborative console either... Sony might want to go the high end route with plenty of built in features, while Microsoft may want to go a cheaper route and have more Add-on's ( I'm not flaming, just stating facts).
I...
Whenever Yoshida at Sony said that price wasn't really a factor in PS3 sales in Japan, but it was mainly software, he definantly wasn't kidding. These FFVII Advent Children PS3 bundles aren't exactly that cheap, and they are selling like Candy.
PS3 sales are going to be freakin' amazing in Japan this year with this bundle, FFXIII, and possibly Versus XIII in 2009.
Afro Samurai looks pretty cool, but when it comes to games that I'm not anticipating at all, I usually wait until they hit bargain bin prices before buying them. My anticipated games that I'll end up paying $60 bucks for are always my first priority....If I was going to buy Afro Samurai, it would probably have to be around $20 or $30 bucks.
Well, I've got my launch 60 Gig with the Emotion Engine, so Backwards Compatibility is no biggie for me.I'm glad that I didn't wait to get my PS3 any later though, because I never thought that Sony would have ever gotten rid of Backwards Compatibility.
The 60GB PS3's with Full Backwards compatibility are selling for CRAZY prices on Ebay brand new and start around $499 minimum for a Refurbished one. I don't think I would ever get rid of my 60GB PS3 for anything.

Reviews to me aren't really needed, but I guess it's nice to know what someone else's opinion is first.
When it comes to Video Games, the only thing I really need to see beforehand is gameplay footage and read a few pre-views here and there to determine if it's something that I'm really going to buy or not.... and then there's some games where I don't need to see anything before hand to make up my mind whether or not I'm going to buy it or not like Uncharted 2, God of War 3, GT5 ...
When you consider that Killzone 2, a game that will be coming out just a little over 2 years after the PS3 was released has pushed the boundaries of this generation of gaming like never before, I truly believe that the quote from Sony: "this is the best thing you will ever experience in gaming" is actually coming true, it just took a while for it to happen.
I mean, when you've got websites comparing KZ2 to Crysis, then you know that the PS3 is going to be something REAL...
"-campaign length as much as 15 hours"
I guess when Herman Hulst said that the 10 hour length of KZ2's campaign can either go up or down depending on the player, he wasn't exaggerating. I tend to take my time when I play through games, so I'm pretty sure it's going to take me more than 10 hours.
It looks like KZ2 is definantly living up to the hype. Can't wait for the Review Embargo to end so that KZ2 can shut up the doubters once and for all.
I'm not so sure if GT5 can outsell GT3, but I do think that it can sell about just as much as GT4 did.
I really hope that GT5 comes out in 2009 and it's really one of the only racing games I'm looking forward too.
The PS3 should definantly be outselling the Wii weekly in Japan for a good month or so after these FFVII PS3 bundles drop... and who knows, maybe these PS3 bundles will be outselling the DSi/DS? Only time will tell.
The Xbox 360 may outsell the PS3 in Japan for several weeks after Star Ocean 4 comes out, but just 1 week of sales from the FFVII PS3 bundles will certainly eradicate any gains the 360 may have made on the PS3.
September 2009 sounds a little early for GOW3 to me. If God of War 3 comes out in 2009, most likely it'll be in December like it's been rumored to be. If it doesn't come out in December, then I'm pretty confident that it's coming March 2010 because God of War games have always coincided with March release dates and almost everyone knows that.
But, even if GOW3 doesn't come out til' March 2010, as long as I get the rest of the 2009 PS3 exclusives along with a Team ICO game announ...
^^ I listened to that IGN podcast yesterday. I think they were basically making some predictions and they thought that God of War 3 was gonna come out this year, and I hope that it does. And if God of War 3 is playable at E3, that would be totally Megaton!
With God of War 3 being shown to certain memebers of the press in February at some event Sony invited them too, I can definantly see a huge God of War 3 blowout at E3.
@jack,
You definantly need to stick to the Open Zone dude. Before this year started, I had never even seen you even post in the Gamer Zone before since I've been on N4G.... Please, Go back to the Open Zone where your comments belong. At the rate that you're going, you'll be down to 1 or 2 bubbles in no time.
