" I understand why they are doing it but
i would rather Sony invest this money in games development. "
I have to slightly disagree (I didn't press the disagree button by the way) because as much as I want Sony to invested in 1st party game development, I want them to advertise their games just as much and hype the hell out of big budget games. Big budget games like KZ2 deserve and NEED a big advertising campaign.
I think Sony Defiantly needs to hit tele...
"I find the gameboy hard to develop for. Does that make my story news? Does anyone care if I can program something or not? No.
Where is N4G going these days? "
Whenever there's a story on N4G with some developer stating that the PS3 harder to develop for, it's news then isn't it? But when a developer says something about the XBLA being hard to develop for then it's not news right? LOL.
The majority of the stuff posted on N4G is hardly news, ma...
Once I saw the first in-game demonstration for Killzone 2, I never doubted the game.
I know a lot of people were still stuck in the past and just couldn't get over the fact that Guerrilla had never really made a "AAA quality game" and that KZ2 was going to flop, but with Insomniac, Polyphony Digital and Sony Santa Monica in the mix with Killzone 2, there was no way the game was gonna fail. Developers can always redeem themselves and Guerrilla did just that with KZ2.
If this guy doesn't like Killzone 2's controls, that's just his opinion because in the GameReactor Denmark Killzone 2 review they mentioned "Good Controls", so it just comes down to preference and the ability to ADAPT to the controls. I've never seen so many nitpickers in my life.
Isn't Killzone 2's First Person Cover System innovative enough? The cover system implemented in Killzone 2 has NEVER been implemented in any other shooter before and it was Guerrilla's own creation. Personally I think the cover system implemented in KZ2 could possibly change the way we play FPS games.
I can't stand it when I hear people say that Killzone 2 doesn't do anything different or new because it does, and it's the Cover System. Every game doesn't have to innovate, as long...
"didn't expect this score. Have fun with this PS3 owners"
I expected a 9 or higher from IGN for Killzone 2.
KILLZOWNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bu... bu...but Guerrilla hasn't made a good game before, LOL, all you crazy Killzone doubters and Killzone haters have officially been silenced.
Maybe if Yakuza 3 was going to be released outside of Japan, maybe I would care, but even if it was coming out in the U.S., my launch 60GB PS3 still has around 20GB of space left, and I could upgrade to an even larger hard drive VERY cheaply.
Websites are always quick to point out if a PS3 game has a Madatory Hard drive installation, but never mention the size of 360 games that support the Optional Installation provided by the NXE, and most 360 games that have the Optional Instal...
I expect most multiplatform games on the PS3 and 360 to look the same throughout this generation, but in 2009 I definantly think the graphical gap between the PS3 and 360 in terms of Exclusives will definantly widen.
Another PS3 exclusive supposed to come out next year that many people seemed to have forgotten about: Wardevil, and it's another graphical beast and looks just as astounding as Heavy Rain and KZ2 graphically:
The standard now-a-days is being able to move and shoot and that's just what most people are...
I myself have never played Resident Evil because up until I played Dead Space, Survival Horror just wasn't my thing, but after playing Dead Space, I really can't even imagine playing another Survival Horror game without being able to move and shoot at the same time.
Some may argue that being able to shoot and move at the same time makes the game more of a 3rd person shooter, but to balance the game out, the only thing that needs to be done is restricting the amount of ammo in the...
Hmmmm..... I'm not sure about a 10/10 from Eurogamer, but if Eurogamer gave Resistance 2 a 9/10, I expect them to give Killzone 2 the same score.
I would say that I expect them to give KZ2 a higher score than R2, but since Eurogamer doesn't review in half point increments and I just don't see them giving it a 10/10, I expect the review to be a 9 because I really just don't see how a reviewer could rate KZ2 lower than R2.
PS3 articles like this are so pointless. These gaming "journalists" talk about the PS3 being in Last place like the PS3 is the exact same price as the 360 or something.
When the PS3 came out, the 360 had about a 10 million lead, since the PS3 came out, it's cut into that lead even while selling at $399 and $499. But, I have no doubt that by the end of this generation, the PS3 will come out on top in Worldwide sales over the 360 because I just don't see the 360 outsellin...
I think that Gamepro is just as reliable as IGN or GameInformer.
But, one thing that I don't like about GamePro is that they ONLY rate games on the 1 point scale (3/5, 4/5, 5/5) with no Half point increments. I really don't know why every reviewer doesn't follow the same standards when reviewing games because there should be 1 set standard way for reviewing games.
GamePro gave Resistance 2 a 4/5 (8/10), and some people may disagree with me, but after playing R2 for m...
I think it's pretty safe to assume that everyone that wanted a Xbox 360 for Halo already has one because Halo 3 has been out since 2007 and the Xbox 360 has been VERY affordable worldwide since then.
I guess this is just Microsoft's way of countering the KZ2 bundle in Europe, but nonetheless, for anyone else that hasn't gotten a 360, it's a pretty good bundle.
@dalibor,
Even if you already have some shooters, I still say pick up KZ2 first because I want as many PS3 owners to be all over KZ2 as possible when it releases, because the last thing I want to hear after KZ2 releases is some stupid game journalist dogging KZ2's initial sales because some PS3 owners didn't get it when it initially came out..... But if you just must have a non-shooter, then go for Motorstorm Pacific Rift and get Killzone 2 around early March or something.
^^ I totally agree. Even though it seems a lot of people are clamoring over the Multiplayer in KZ2 more than anything else, I'm actually looking forward to the Single Player even more. The Single Player campaign in Killzone 2 looks totally Epic and I mainly buy games for the Single Player aspects of the game.
Meh, I'm not too sure about Demon Souls.... I mean, it's being developed by From Software and they've been pretty much hit and miss when it comes to game development on 360 and PS3. Chromehounds was a pretty good game, Tenchu Z totally bombed, and Armored Core For Answer got a mixed reception.
If Demon Souls bombs in U.S. reviews, I won't be that surprised, but I hope that White Knight Chronicles is received well when it hits the States (and I think it will be) because Level 5 is al...
@Snake,
God of War 2 sold 2 million copies within it's first 4 months on the market. I'm not sure how much God of War 1 sold and couldn't find any info on it's sales, but I'd imagine that it's sold just as much as God of War 2.
If this "new" 360 FF game is essentially going to be a remake or port of FFIV for Xbox Live Arcade, I think I would definantly take Versus XIII over this anyday.
For all we know this could be just yet another SquareEnix timed exclusive deal. Since Microsoft couldn't get Versus XIII (Thank You Tetsuya Nomura), I guess they had to to get SOMETHING else regarding Final Fantasy exclusive or timed exclusive for the 360.
The End from MGS3 is still one of my top all time favorite Boss Battles along with some Boss battles in SoTC, and God of War Bosses.
The Boss Battle with "The Boss" in MGS3 was pretty good, but the only thing I didn't like that is that you had to beat her within a certain amount of time.... so I really couldn't take my time and fight her at my own pace. Fighting The End in MGS3 at my own pace is what made it enjoyable for me (and it was LONG as hell).
My fa...
