"this years E3 will honor the end of the ps2 life cycle.
take that how you will but im sure you know what it means.
p.s. take it with a grain of salt beacuse anything can happen between now and E3 "
I was thinking almost the same exact thing, but with a new Motorstorm game coming to the PS2 this Fall, it's making me think that Sony isn't getting rid of the PS2 for at least another year or sometime in 2010... but whenever it happens, I will defi...
The PS2 is truly a console I will never forget and one of my all time favorites... I'd hate to see the day when Sony has to eventually pull the plug on the PS2.
The PS2 brings up so many great past-times...fighting a seemingly endless and patient battle with The End in MGS3.... playing a 2 hour GT3 Endurance Race until my thumbs and eyes ached ... slaying 16 Gentle but ferocious creatures in Shadow of the Colossus.... fleeing a giant castle on a secluded island with some mysterio...
Well, I guess this is no surprise, another movie based game bites the dust in reviews.... Oh well, I'm more interested in the Watchmen movie this Friday. :) Can't wait to see it.
I don't see what's the big deal about the controls... they're fine to me.
I don't know... maybe I'm one of the few people, but while playing Killzone 2 I didn't change ANYTHING. I didn't change the X or Y sensitivity and I kept Killzone 2's standard default control layout, and for me it's absolutely perfect.
When I first started playing KZ2's campaign, I thought that the turning in KZ2 felt a little slow, so I bumped up the X sensitivity a little bit just to see how ...
Of course, the 360 outsold the Wii and PS3 because of SO4, and I think there were some Star Ocean 4 bundles as well. I pretty much expected the 360 to outsell the PS3 when SO4 was released, so it's no big surprise.
But overrall, sales are lacking a LOT in Japan for for the PSP, DSi, and Wii compared to later months in 2008, and the PS3 is selling around it's average numbers.
I guess the Wii's lack of good software lately has been a cause for it's sharp drop in sales,...
LOL, Living up to Metal Gear Solid 4 quality and gameplay is going to be a tough feat.
The best thing Ubisot did was to take this game "Back to the Drawing Board", now if only they would show some new details on the game. MGS4 raised the bar for Action Stealth games, and all I've got to say is good luck Ubisoft in trying to match Kojima quality.
MGS4's gameplay is already pretty "deep". Conviction's gameplay may be just as deep, but the Metal Gea...
Gamespot got KILLZOWNED!! Muhahaha!!!
I expected no less than a 9 from Gamespot for KZ2. If they gave Resistance 2 a 9, I really don't see how they could give KZ2 anything less when it's on a whole different level in terms of FPS.
KZ2 FTW!!! Thank You Guerrilla for such an awesome game!
The reason why those people returned it is probably because they couldn't get on the Multiplayer Servers.
The Game store broke the street date on Tuesday, but if I'm correct, the Killzone 2 servers weren't switched on until Wednesday, and that's probably why the people said "it didn't work", but that's just my guess.
However, the guy could just be making stuff up like the writer mentioned, who knows.
And if this is true, it only applies to a fe...
From the looks of it, Sony really isn't interested in profit share this generation, and is more focused on making the PS3 business profitable before even thinking about profit share again and to me that's the smart decision.
Regardless of how much longer the PS3 stays at $399, it's still going to sell and people still going to buy it.
Sure, the Xbox 360 will sell a little more per month, but considering it sold just a little over 300K in January with a $199 console o...
If the 360 had any chance of competing with the Wii, I think it would have to be selling NO LESS than 500K per month in the U.S and about the same in Europe.
Even when the 360's cheapest console is $199, it only sold a little over 300K in January.... I'm not saying that 300K+ is a bad thing for the 360, it's just that it probably should be selling more since it's so cheap and has so many games.
The Xbox 360 already has the perfect formula to hit the casual audience: ...
Since the Xbox 360 version of the first Lost Planet came out a whole year before the PS3 version, it makes sense that the 360 version of LP2 has been in development longer, and that could be one reason as to why it was announced first on the Xbox 360, who knows.
Bioshock 2 was first announced at the end of the PS3 version of Bioshock 1, but that doesn't mean that Bioshock 2 will be a PS3 exclusive (and obviously it won't be), and I don't see why there's all this speculation that ...
"In effect, the PS3 sales would rise and be competetive."
Of course, a PS3 with no Blu-ray would cause sales to rise because it could be offered a LOT cheaper, but regardless of what the media says, the PS3 is STILL Competitve against the Xbox 360, even at $399.
In 2008 the PS3 and 360 sold literally the same amount, and despite having a $200 dollar console on the market, the 360 only outsold the PS3 in January's NPD by a little over 100K. PS3 sales are fi...
This is ridiculous, the PS3 was always meant to have Blu-ray. The only way a non-Blu-ray PS3 would be possible is if everything was offered Digitally, and I definantly don't see that happening anytime soon.... there are SOME full retail games offered for download on the PSN like Burnout Paradise, and GT5P, but not a huge amount.
I'm glad that EVERY PS3 comes with a Blu-ray drive, because if it wasn't for the PS3 having Blu-ray, I sure wouldn't have a Blu-ray player right now. Hav...
I can't even imagine the video game industry without Playstation... No Team ICO, No Crash Bandicoot, No Jak and Daxter, No God of War, No Twisted Metal.... I don't even want to imagine it. Almost all of my favorite game franchises were started on the Playstation platform or had great success under Playstation.
I think that Sony was the main hardware company that really brought a lot of Adults into video games. If there was no Playstation, I think that Sega's consoles might have e...
Resistance isn't a Zombie themed game, your killing Aliens called Chimera.
In the first Resistance there was just ONE type of Chimera that resembled a Zombie and would attack similiar to how a Zombie would, but it's not a Zombie themed game whatsoever.
When this article was written, the PS3 wasn't even out yet. And STOP submitting these OLD a$$ articles from 2006 because I know it's you.
After I saw this story, I drove straight to Target and I just got back.
When I walked in, there was the "Killzone 2 As advertised" sticker on the shelf, but there were no actual copies of Killzone 2 on the shelf. I asked the guy behind the counter if they had anymore copies of Killzone 2, and they DID. He went in the back and came out with about 6-7 copies of Killzone 2 in his hand.
When he went to ring me up at the cash register, the price didn't come up o...
"is the ps3 really going to lose 3rd party support?
that would be bad"
PS3 3rd party support isn't going anywhere. There's 21 million PS3's sold and it would be ridiculous for 3rd party's to ignore it.
If the PS3 was going to be loosing 3rd party support, I doubt that Tecmo would be doing a PS3 exclusive (Quantum Theory) in a day and age where 3rd party exclusives are almost non-existent.
This isn't like last generation where one c...
I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I don't really see God of War 3 being that much of a PS3 system seller. Personally I think KZ2 has more potential to move PS3 systems as the PS3 gets cheaper because it's currently the best looking FPS console game on the market (graphically and technically), and that's a huge selling point.
I think that GOW3 will make current God of War fans that haven't picked up a PS3 to do so, but to me God of War is one of those "niche" type of...
