"The lack of advertisement is the only reason that Sony's 1st party games can't go beyond core gamers,a shame really"
I'm not trying to make excuses, but the majority of PS3 owners are CORE gamers, and the majority of PS3 exclusives so far (Resistance 2, Killzone 2, Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm Pacific Rift, GT5P, Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted Drakes Fortune, Warhawk, etc...) have mainly appealed to the CORE audience.
Sony can advertise all they want, but if...
I definantly agree that Sony's advertising could much better and the PS3 itself isn't advertised nearly enough.
In terms of recent PS3 game commercials: I saw the LBP, Resistance 2, and Motorstorm Pacific Rift TV commercials about just as many times as I've Microsoft advertise Star Ocean 4 so far... Sony advertised it just enough times just to get the word out, but not totally hyping it up.... and some may disagree, but I think that was enough advertising for those PS3 games.
...
"It looks as like I'm a LIVE free Silver member. Let's duke it out online. Im getting like so many friend requests."
Gotta be a Gold Member to play Online on XBL Shoko. :)
If she doesn't already have a PS3, she'll definantly have one by the time FFXIII comes out.
I read what John Hendry Eden said before he did his little stealth edit, for those that didn't read it, it was "Everyone should buy GTA China Town wars instead of this B quality game from a B quality franchise".
But with Trolls like that, I do what I always do, take away bubbles, hit the disagree button.
Never had a Dreamcast, Original Xbox, or Gamecube so I can't relate to those games, but I definantly agree with the PS2 games on this list and the categories they are listed in.
The the first most memorable graphical jump in a PS2 game was definantly MGS2 for me, and I would also probably say that ICO, and Jak and Daxter were also, but I think MGS2 had the biggest leap early on in the PS2's lifecycle.
Later on in the PS2's lifecycle, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shadow of the...
I agree with Ghost of Sparta, I've seen better Infamous screenshots than those, and I have plenty of them on my Computer, but anyways, I've been silently looking forward to this game.
I was a little worried at first that the gameplay reminded me too much of Star Wars The Force Unleashed, but Sucker Punch is known for coming out with quality games, so I have confidence in them.
The last couple of games I've bought were shooters (R2 in November, KZ2 last month, and Bio...
The Xbox 360 Add-on prices such as Hard drives and the Wifi Adapters have been just a few things that have kept me from getting a 360, but most of all, the hardware reliablity has kept me from getting a 360 as well, but that's a whole different story.
If the rumors are true and Sony cuts the PS3 to $299 pretty soon, I think Microsoft will need to start bundling the Wifi Add-on for Free with the Pro and Elite 360 model and slash their hard drive prices even more to be more competi...
I'm not gonna lie, I've actually had similar thoughts before about how many PS3 owners actually use their console for gaming... at the beginning, the PS3 wasn't always pushed as a Gaming Console, but as a Blu-ray Player in a lot of cases and a Gaming Console second.
Pretty much everyone that bought a Xbox 360 mainly bought it for gaming alone, but there's been plenty of people that have bought a PS3 solely for Blu-ray and a media hub.
However, I can't help but think ...
I haven't been much of a fan of Capcom's games over the years, but the only Capcom game I can think of that I REALLY want on the PSN is Megaman Legends 2 and the Megaman X series.
Other non-Capcom games I'd like to see on the PSN: Einhander, Blasto, Jersey Devil, and Medievil 2... I remember playing demos of those games (I still have the SquareSoft Einhander demo) way back when, but never got around to buying them.
Sony should bring back some of their classic JRPG's ...
I completely agree with the Value that the PS3 has considering everything the PS3 comes with out of the box, and if the PS3 comes bundled with even 1 (or 2) games, the value goes up even more, but I'm just gonna be real here:
The PS3 has been selling at $399 for over a year, and eventually the market for potential PS3 buyers that are willing to spend $399 for a console (regardless of bundled games) is going to tap out... it may sound harsh to some, but I feel it's the truth.
Hmmm.... I still think Sony should be bundling newer games like Motorstorm Pacific Rift instead of the first Motorstorm.
.... But I guess I see the point in bundling Motorstorm 1 and Resistance 1 because then that "might" make people have more incentive to go out and buy the sequels to those games.
If Sony is going to have a SKU that comes with 2 games such as this, they should have another standalone SKU that doesn't come with any games for $299. I'd like ...
For those above wanting more lush environments, I wouldn't exactly count on more greener environments... don't forget, the game takes place on Helghan and there's not a lot of life on Helghan, and lush jungles and forests seem like they are pretty much out of the question.
In terms of DLC, I'd love to see Vehicles and more Maps that are like Pyhrrus Rise (not sure if it's spelled right) because I loved the more Open atmosphere in that level, and I think there needs to be just a f...
I'm not surprised by this news really... Halo is the 360's biggest cash cow and M$ are going to make as much money off of the Halo name as long as they can.... If it gets to the point where the Halo games coming out are sub-par, they should just let the series rest in peace at that point.
And before anyone starts jumping to conclusions, NO I don't think that the Halo series is being milked, and I don't think that other games like Metal Gear Solid are being milked either because l...
@chrisnick,
Team ICO is first party, Sony owns the studio.
"I'm referring, of course, to the recent trend of all of the PS3's exclusive AAA titles featuring trailers of all in-game footage. This would be fine, in fact commendable, if not for the fact that they have to tell us"
Putting the words "in-game footage" before a trailer starts isn't being "c*cky" that's just Sony informing any doubters that the game is indeed REAL TIME.....You've always got these people that are like, "Heck no, the trailer look...
LOL. The RE5 Xbox 360 Bundle sales are "hot", but the 80GB PS3 is still ranked higher at #30... and the RE5 360 bundle is no longer at #32, it's at #37 now.
The PS3 is almost always ranked higher in overrall sales on Amazon.
I found something pretty interesting on Wikipedia:
"More recently, Origo Gaming released a teaser picture showcasing a reptile on a rock, listing many numbers below. Each number represented a letter in the alphabet, resulting in the lines:
In nature things are not always as they seem.
To survive one must live, adapt and evolve.
Data-fly."
Under the first pic on the forum ^^^ those words represent the numbers, but nothing on Wikipedi...
"And sure, Killzone 2 could have used some kind of extra gameplay hook to help set it apart from the crowd."
Killzone 2's First Person Cover System sets it apart from the crowd... no other FPS game has a cover system like KZ2's, and I found the cover system to come in handy throughout the campaign and it works VERY well, and it makes me want every other FPS game I play to have the exact same cover system.
I guess maybe if Guerrilla had kept the Cover System...
For the people like "agentxricky" that are saying MGS4, Killzone 2, and other PS3 exclusives without stating any reasons please STFU and troll in the Open Zone because if you are saying those games without giving an explanation I seriously doubt you've played them.
I'm a Playstation guy but you don't see me pulling Xbox exclusives out of my a$$ for "Most disappointing" game without giving any reasons and without playing them.
It's ironic really... there's many people that enjoyed HAZE for what it was, and I felt the exact same way about Lair. Lair got horrible reviews, but I picked it up the exact same day it came out.
Lair was a VERY short game, and the Sixaxis controls took me a while to get used too, but I did enjoy it while it lasted and I don't think that it deserved some of the really low review scores that it got.
I think HAZE got so hyped up because Free Radical was the developer...
