I seriously doubt that the PS3 will only sell 180,000 units in July. How can the PS3 go from selling 400,000+ units in June and less than half the next month? It makes no sense to me.
The 80GB PS3 Metal Gear Solid 4 bundles were selling like hotcakes throughout July after Sony restocked them after they all sold out in June.
And even though the 20GB 360 was cut to $299, personally I didn't see it having a big effect because there is already a cheaper Xbox 360 aval...
I have to say, Resistance was one of the very few FPS games that I've played that actually had a very good story, and Resistance had a pretty decent campaign mode in terms of length for a FPS and hopefully Resistance 2 will be just as long or longer
And since Hale has been infected with that virus or whatever it is, I wonder if Hale will ever be able to tranform into one of the Chimera in Resistance 2... whatever happens, I can't wait to find out what else happens in the story ...
This is exactly what I was talking about in a earlier comment that I made last week. I remember when the first review scores for HAZE came out, the first one was a 9/10, just like Too Human's first review score... something told me that once the bigger gaming sites started reviewing Too Human, the lower scores might start rolling in.
But, review scores are basically just an opinion of a game... Lair got low review scores but I still liked the game... but review scores these days pe...
That was pretty cool, and the MGS4 songs in the background are awesome too. The Metal Gear Saga track is my favorite... I listen to it everyday.
Alone in the Dark for should be better for the PS3. Atari already knows why the game got bad reviews and what reviewers had to say about the game and all they have to do is polish areas in the game that were lacking in the other versions... and maybe Atari/Eden Games can take advantage of the Blu-ray capabilities in the PS3 with Alone in the Dark since they aren't "distracted" by the 360 development of the game anymore.
Plus, Alone in the Dark didn't need to come out ...
Halo sold over 8 million copies because it was a Halo game, not because it was innovative or did anything new. I'm not hating on Halo, but I've seen much better looking FPS than Halo 3 and they are Resistance 2, Killzone 2, and COD4, just my opinion.
Well, I have a PS3 and I don't have any other system.... I could have bought both the 360 and the Wii if I wanted them bad enough, but, I think I'll stick to just one console.
If I ever did buy a 360, I would only get it for the exclusives and the PS3 would be my primary system... the 360's failure rate is a big turn off for me though... and if I ever bought a 360 I would only get the Elite because I like the Black colored look much better and not the White 360's... but at $44...
I think that PS3 sales will be a little bit closer to 300,000 units. Those 80GB PS3 MGS4 bundles were still out and selling like hotcakes in July and the 20GB 360 price cut to $299 helped 360 sales so it kinda makes things even if you ask me because both systems had momentum.... but the 360 price cut didn't come until the middle of July and it wasn't for the whole month.... and the MGS4 80GB PS3 bundle stayed at the top of the Amazon.com charts for a LONG time and was a big seller at retail a...
Why will the PS3 have a hard time competing with the 360 at that price? In some places in Europe, the 360 is already cheaper than the Wii and the PS3 still outsells the 360 over there.
The 360 may outsell the PS3 in Japan for a week or two, but after the hype for Tales of Vasperia is over with, it will be back to normal with the PS3 outselling the 360 again like always.
It's a pretty good boost to the 360 in Japan, but it's not enough. When MGS4 came out on the PS3 in Japan, PS3 console units skyrocketed to 80,000+ units sold in a week and I don't see impressive 360 numbers like that in Japan.
The PS3 will always have Japan on lock and the rea...
This was just a small study of 1000 people, it wasn't like this study was on a large scale of 250,000- 500,000 people or more. A small study like this doesn't reflect that the entire world and what they really want. People with HDTV's are going to eventually upgrade to Blu-ray if they want to get the best out of their HDTV sets and recently I've heard reports of Blu-ray sales increasing not decreasing.
I think that the majority of the people that don't want Blu-ray right now ar...
I have to disagree with a few people that say that Sony needs it's own Halo. Sony doesn't define themselves by 1 or 2 games like Microsoft has and they most likely never will. When you think about the Playstation brand overrall, you can NEVER think of just 1 main game because there's so many games assoicated with the Playstation brand, but when you think of the Xbox brand, 9 times out of 10 you think of either Halo or Gears of War and that's it. I'm not saying that all the Xbox has is Gears a...
That article response from Remedy a few weeks ago about the rumors regarding Alan Wake being at Leipzeg were funny as hell, they said that they just got back from a vacation and the game will be shown when it's ready and I'm thinking, aren't they supposed to be working on Alan Wake? There's nothing wrong with a vacation but I mean, if they had taken a vacation AFTER they had shown or revealed some new details about Alan Wake at E3 or something then it would seem more realistic.

I wish that someone would ask SquareEnix whether or not the U.S. and European version of FFXIII for the PS3 will release at the same time as the 360 version because Microsoft has been saying that it will, but I haven't heard SquareEnix say it and I want to hear SquareEnix say it first before I believe it, because right now I still think that the U.S. and European PS3 versions will be out by Late 2009 and the Xbox 360 version wont release until Mid-Late 2010.
If the development ...
Dead Space is a game that I've been looking forward too ever since I saw the first trailer for the game. I've never really been into survival horror games and Dead Space is one of the first that has actually spurred my interest in the Survival Horror genre. Dead Space is a first day purchase for me.
With these new Avatars, it seems like Microsoft is trying to attract casual gamers, but I wonder how they are going to do it with almost everything dealing with about Xbox Live costing money.
There will be some fees to upgrade your living space/apartment in HOME and to buy more different types of clothes , but the actual HOME service itself will be Free. Microsoft already makes tons of money each year from Xbox Live alone and it wouldn't hurt them to make Xbox 360 Avatars infin...
Up until about a month or so before E3, I never saw LittleBigPlanet being a really big game and to be honest, I didn't even have any real interest in the game until about May-June.
I think that LBP will attract more casual gamers to the PS3 and Sony should definantly acquire Media Molecule if LBP ends up being a smash hit.
I don't know about the guy that wrote this article, but Metal Gear Solid 4 was the PS3's first Killer App. and LBP might just be the second.
When it comes to the Xbox 360 and PS3, I think that it's still too early to declare the 360 the winner. I think that it was really stupid on Microsoft's part at E3 for declaring that they will sell more systems than the PS3 this generation with just a 5-6 million lead because that little lead could be vaporized in a year or two.
Personally I think that the PS3 will outsell the Xbox 360 because of the larger Playstation installbase, Blu-ray, more recognized brand name, has Japan and...
I'm pretty sure that Europe will be jumping all over these 80GB PS3's because the 40GB PS3 has been the only system avaliable over there since like last year when Sony discontinued the 60GB PS3's.
I think that some gaming news site needs to sit the hell down with SquareEnix and the guys working on FFXIII and have 1 good really long interview with them because there's WAY too much confusion going around regarding FFXIII and SquareEnix needs to set the record straight for GOOD.
