The Final Fantasy XIII announcement for "Asia" really isn't such a big deal because the only major Asian market for video games is Japan and as long as Japan doesn't (and wont) get FFXIII, it will have little to no effect at all.
When it comes to Final Fantasy, the PS3 still holds the advantage because Final Fantasy versus XIII is still a PS3 exclusive, and anyone that wants to play both next-gen Final Fantasy games will HAVE to buy a PS3 regardless.
It's a little disappointing to hear that the game isn't even in Critical development yet when it's been nearly 3 years since Shadow of the Colossus was released.
I think that Team ICO's next game probably wont be out until 2010 or late 2009. They have a very small studio and there was a 4 year gap between each of their games so far because ICO came out in 2001 then Shadow of the Colossus in 2005. I guess Team ICO really likes to take their time, but 4 years between a game is lo...
It's nice to see some new details of Socom Confrontation because I think that it's a good game that is getting overlooked.
SOCOM was one of the biggest PS2 franchises, and it's definantly going to be a hit on the PS3. There are MILLIONS of PS2 owners that have bought the SOCOM games and those current PS2 SOCOM fans that have been on the fence about a PS3 purchase, might just make the decsion to "Play Beyond" this Fall after seeing that one of their favorite franchise...
The character models of the girls that played as the Beauty and Beast Unit in MGS4 were pretty accurate as well. Anyone that has the MGS4 artbook can see who the girls are that played as Raging Raven, Laughing Octopus, Screaming Mantis and Crying Wolf. The difference between their faces in real life and in-game is very minimal and I'm sure that the graphical detail will only increase as developers exploit more of the power of the next-gen consoles (especially the PS3) even more.
I know one thing for sure, anyone that could spend 75 hours a week gaming has literally no life or they just don't have a job. I think that the majority of 18-26 year olds would possibly have jobs or would be in college and I doubt that they would have the time to spend 75 hours a week gaming.
Don Mattrick definantly runs his mouth a little too much and I actually thought that Shane Kim and Aaron Greenburg were annoying, but Mattrick is way more annoying. Ever since E3 it's lik...
With Uncharted recieving trophies, I hope that it causes more people that haven't bought Uncharted to finally pick it up, because ANYONE with a PS3 needs to own Uncharted just like anyone with a PS3 needs to own Metal Gear Solid 4 because both games offer a very nice experience.
Plus, Uncharted is the closest thing to Gears of War on the PS3 in terms of gameplay and cover system, and the only difference between the 2 games is that Uncharted is Single Player only and it's less gritt...
I thought that Left 4 Dead had already been confirmed for the PS3, but it was just a rumor?
However, just because Valve confirmed that a PS3 version isn't in development right now doesn't mean that it wont come to the PS3, because the PS3 version wouldn't be developed by them anyways (it would be ported by EA), so how would they know for sure if a PS3 version wasn't in development for sure or wouldn't be coming to the PS3?
Personally, I could care less if the gam...
If Ninja Gaiden 2 had a more Epic storyline, then I think that it could probably hold the title as one of the best hack-and-slash action games ever, but I still feel that God of War is a little bit better. The fighting system in God of War isn't as complex as Ninja Gaiden, it's somewhat more of a pick-up and play game for almost anyone, but the awesome story in God of War just adds a slight edge to the series over Ninja Gaiden when it comes to action games to me.
Trophies in a game really aren't needed to make me play a game to achieve everything, but it's a nice touch.
I've already unlocked almost all the medals in Uncharted and have already beat the game on all of the Difficulties. I don't know if I would go back in Uncharted just to get the trophies because I've already played the game so many times and have put so much time in the game.
I think it's a little sad that it takes trophies/achievements in a game to make pe...
In my opinion, nothing about those comments were fanboyish from Cahill. I've seen WAY more fanboyish comments.
But really, the PS3 is the only console that can display full 1080p because PS3 games are on Blu-ray and can display 1080p native. Even though the Xbox 360 can upscale it's games, an upscaled game or just a standard DVD upscaled doesn't have the same quality that of a full 1080p game or movie on Blu-ray.
Even though the difference between upscaled 1080...
Heck, I think that Cyborg Ninja Raiden from MGS4 would be one of the best candidates to put in Soul Cailbur 4 because he's fast, agile, and of course, he has that Frequency Blade to be used as a weapon.
Vamp would also be pretty cool to be implemented in the game too.... Vamp v.s. Raiden, what a classic battle that would be if it was put in a fighting game.
Wow, another Xbox 360 fanboy article. This guy thinks that the PS3's 08 lineup is "lackluster"? Ummm... did this guy forget that almost every major video gaming site is looking forward to LittleBigPlanet?, and there's plenty of other VERY good PS3 exclusives coming out, Resistance 2, Motorstorm 2, SOCOM and more.
And then this fool goes on to say that the PS3's 2009 lineup isn't looking any better? Did this guy forget about God of War 3, MAG, Killzone 2, Infamous, Whi...
It doesn't matter if you don't like RPG's or not because Final Fantasy will always live on with or without you, and it's NOT developed by Chinese, it's a Japanese developed game.
2 or 3 years till the PS3's graphics get better than the 360's?
Well, the way that I see it, it's already happening now. There's no 360 game that look as good as GT5P or MGS4, and Killzone 2 is going to blow everything away and there's many other PS3 games coming out next year like MAG and God of War 3 that will most likely be on the graphical detail of Killzone 2.... or even better. My prediction is that the PS3 games next year will start to pull away significantly from 360 ga...
These Xbox 360 price drop rumors just don't add up and here's why:
1. The 60GB 360 has already been said to be brought back at $349.99 after the liquidation of 20GB 360's for $299.99.
2. In a interview with Shane Kim earlier this year, he said that a Xbox 360 priced at $199 is still pretty far off.
3. Nothing has been confirmed from Microsoft
This could be true, but to me, everything just doesn't add up right now. And if Microsoft really does plan o...
I already know that the next Nintendo console isn't going to go the "fully Next-gen" route with their next console because ever since the Gamecube, Nintendo has focused less and less on superior hardware and graphics.
I downloaded 2.42 last night to a Flash Drive and was about to update my PS3 but didn't, I guess I'm glad I waited, but I've never had any issues with my PS3 after an update, not even the infamous 2.40 update... I guess I'll just wait until 2.43 comes out until I update again.
The PS3 has no Software issues ElementX so stop convincing yourself that it does, it's not like it's a widespread problem and I've never had any issues with my PS3 after an update.
I never trade in any of my games, I keep all the games I buy. I like to build up a gaming collection, so selling or trading them makes no sense to me. Plus, I've always found time to play games that I haven't played in several months or a few years all over again.
Metal Gear Solid 4 has done well to have sold this good on the PS3 this fast with a installbase of 14.4 million. And yes I know that the numbers stated don't reflect actual retail numbers because they are shipped numbers, but I think that MGS4 has sold a little over 3 million units by now because it's August and those numbers are from June.
Metal Gear Solid 4 on the PS3 with a MUCH smaller userbase has almost already outsold MGS3 on the PS2 whenever the PS2 userbase was HUGE. I...
