No idea why you got disagrees. I think the Halo universe is strong enough to support different genres of games, and an action-rpg, if done right, could be excellent.
I'm another new PS+ subscriber. I don't play online, but the free games and amazing discounts offered by PS+ are amazing. I own a Vita and a PS3 as well as a PS4, and the amount of value provided by the subscription makes it well worth the purchase.
I cannot wait for this game, and dear gods, that is one sexy character design.
While I think Titanfall may prompt some people to get an XB1, it's not an XB1 exclusive. People who own PCs and 360s and want to play the game may just pick it up for the platforms they already own instead of switching over to XB1.
If the game was only coming out on XB1, I'm sure it would shift a fair number of consoles, but since it isn't, we'll have to wait and see.
I'm loving my PS4. Buying it gave me the incentive I needed to pick up PS+, and as the owner of a PS3 as well as a Vita, PS+ has shown me, once again, that PlayStation is the best console brand for my needs and preferences.
I never regretted buying a launch PS2 or a launch PS3. Sony's incredible track record when it comes to delivering great first-party games made the decision to buy a PS4 at launch a no-brainer for me.
This game is definitely on my radar. Can't wait!
I'm looking forward to seeing more of this title.
I didn't play the second 'Infamous,' but the new protag for Second Son has got me intrigued.
I certainly wouldn't tolerate it. I'd come back with something like, "Why, when I could just buy something more satisfying?"
I wasn't raised to tolerate crap from anyone, male or female, online or offline. It's a shame that some women feel they have to put up with stuff like that, but she comes off better in that exchange. The guy just looks like a douchepaddle.
I'll definitely be shopping around for my game purchases if that's the case.
While I'm surprised XB1 didn't outsell PS4 by a wider margin, given how difficult it's been to find PS4s lately, it's great to see both consoles doing well. And the strong software numbers for both are good news. :D
Like the fact that MS chose to launch first in the markets where it sells the most (US & UK)? Sony still hasn't launched in Japan, a market where, if preorders are any indication, the PS4 should perform very well.
The Xbox brand isn't as strong in the Tier 2 and Tier 3 regions, so sales from those regions won't have a massive impact on marketshare and sales totals.
That's possible, but it doesn't change the fact that the strongest markets for the Xbox brand are in North America and the U.K, where the XB1 has already launched, and in those markets, the PS4 is performing very strongly.
Add to that the markets the PS4 has yet to release in (Japan, for example), and the sales/market share picture for this generation is trending very different from last gen.
Unfortunately for MS, the XB1 doesn't have the same global appeal as the PS4. Yes, Sony launched in more markets, but the XB1 has already launched in those markets where the Xbox brand is strongest. MS chose that strategy in order to build an install base as quickly as possible. There's no conceivable way that the Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets will make much of a difference to XB1's market share. Those smaller markets are already pro-PS4.
While the XB1 may well keep p...
Why do people treat each market as if it has an equal impact on the console's sales?
MS chose the 13 launch markets it did because it knows those are its strongest markets. Those markets provide the bulk of their total global sales. They sell more Xboxes in those places than they do others. Therefore, it made sense for them to start out of the gate focusing on those territories, rather than allocating units to markets that individually don't have a large impact on sal...
The problematic PS3 launch proved that many people weren't happy to pay extra for the backwards compatibility feature. Hence, Sony's decision to axe it and offer cheaper models without the feature.
Why do MS supporters keep mentioning the number of markets as if each of those markets has the same weight on overall sales? Yes, the PS4 launched in more markets numerically than XB1, but both consoles launched in MS' stronghold markets, where MS traditionally sells the strongest, North America and the UK.
Sony has yet to launch in Japan, where it's looking like the PS4 will have a strong launch, and where the Xbox brand is extremely niche.
That was my first thought, too. We always get short-changed on streaming stuff up here.
If Sony can actually get this working in Canada from the start, and offer us a decent amount of content, I'll be very interested (depending on the price, of course), Chances are, though, if we get anything it will be strictly 'bare bones.'
The problem any game streaming service faces, be it from Sony or MS, is the poor Internet infrastructure we have in North America, not to mention the data caps, bandwidth throttles, and high prices of Internet access.
Unless we see marked improvements in those areas, I'm not sure how popular either of these services will become.
Wasn't that said by Ken Kuteragi, not Kaz Hirai?
