Given that X-2 had an all-female cast, and the FF XIII games feature a female protagonist, I'd say the series is more than due for an entry with an all-male party.
Yeah, about that. Talk about painting with a broad brush. Not every female gamer wants or needs to "prove" something to male gamers. If anything, stories like this seem to bring out the kneejerk defensive reaction of some men, like they're insecure.
Generalizations aren't helpful.
I'm an adult female gamer, and I play both casual and core games. It's not an either/or proposition. The fact that a company like Bigfish Games - which specializes in Hidden Object/Click Adventure, Match-3, etc. - sells millions of games a week at a much lower price point than console games - proves that it's a very viable market. Just because anyone here may not consider casual games to be "real" games doesn't matter in the slightest to game companies.
The whole situation is hilarious. This is no different than Sony's "This is how you share your games on PS4" video from E3 2013, only then it was the Xbox fanboys whining about how petty and mean it was, while the PS fanboys thought it was a joke, good fun, and a clever bit of marketing.
Will it get people to choose Destiny XB1 over Destiny PS4? Probably not. But it was good business for MS to try to raise awareness of the XB1 version of the game.
This is a great idea.
My 3DS XL broke this week, so this is welcome news.
All corporations care about profit first and foremost. Welcome to capitalism.
So much salt and bitterness in this article. It's hilarious.
Why is the PS4 outperforming the XB1,even after XB1 changed policies/offered a Kinectless SKU? Because the reality is that Playstation is a much stronger brand globally than XBox. The 360 was such a success in North America and the UK because it launched much earlier and was cheaper. This enabled it to build up a community of users that grew through positive word-of-mouth.

1886 is a game I can't wait to play. The art direction and atmosphere look amazing, and I'm intrigued by the characters. Those are the elements I most enjoy about a game, and as long as their well-crafted enough in an action/adventure game, I'm not bothered by flaws in gameplay. Not every title has to 'reinvent the wheel' when it comes to play mechanics.
Triple Triad, complete with added decks for the other FF titles. Release that, SE, and you shall have my money.
I'd love a DC Universe game like 'Ultimate Alliance', something that would use a universe-wide major plot arc.
I've been a Sony/Nintendo gamer for decades. MS' consoles have never appealed to me enough for me to buy one. The only exclusives I wished I could have played last gen were 'Too Human', 'Blue Dragon', 'Lost Odyssey' and 'Tales of Vesperia.' Unfortunately, that lineup wasn't enough for me to justify spending the money to buy one.
While this gen has just begun, I haven't seen exclusives on the One that make me want to buy it yet. ...
The concept of mental illness being associated with villainy far predates video games. It's an archetype that has appeared repeatedly throughout stories for as long as humans have been telling stories. Mental illness marks someone as 'other,' and we, as a species, tend to fear the 'other.' It's not the only archetypal marker of villainy, of course. Sexual deviance from a particular society's norms is another example of a common trope associated with villains in sto...
Picked mine up a couple of weeks ago, and 'Lego City' just arrived. Now all I need is some free time to play it.
Is anyone actually swayed by articles like this? There's no way to declare one objectively better than the other, since entertainment is subjective. The best someone can do is list the features of the consoles, cover their respective libraries, and then leave it up to the consumer to make the final decision.
For me, the PS4 is far better than the XB1, but that's because Sony offers me the exclusive games I prefer. Xbox has never attracted my interest as a gamer, but t...
I'd preorder it as soon as it was announced.
I'm not surprised. I purchased my Wii U after E3, way ahead of schedule.
Minecraft is becoming the definition of an 'evergreen' title. Its legs are ridiculous.
As I said in the thread arguing what XB1 is the 'console you should buy', console choice is completely subjective. It should be based on the gamer's taste in exclusives, experiences, and features.
Meh. They used a quote from another source. Movie commercials do it all the time, so why is this any different? It's like the Destiny perfume ad MS put out, just to remind people who might have thought the game was PS4 exclusive because of Sony's advertising campaign for it.
Some gamers need to grow a thicker skin and not clutch their pearls over everything companies do. It's all business.
